Before we go down the "it's a joke" route perhaps something is screwed on the install or on your PC? Sure you didn't miss a patch or something? Just tried it here got my behind handed to me on a plate. So definitely fine for me, WM, others here. If you still have problems check the version of cfs3.exe, send offlog.txt to support pls. -

Yep dive some, start engine, and whilst diving some lower mixture quickly to catch it, with a bit of practice you can restart whilst high. -
Hi Ryan, Sounds like the AI isn't doing anything there, which is odd. Sometimes if you have low slider settings it can reduce AI quality. Turn off labels and aids, try a campaign.. (note in regions you could be against rookie pilots /squads) and make sure you launch via the OFF Manager not from the cfs3.exe. Try random AI skill in QC. Try other craft, and try to match times/dates for craft. For example Se5/Camel/DR1/DVII

No worries, rudder is heavily needed on many craft to compliment the roll. Very generally speaking WW1 a/c had ailerons with high drag. The displacement of the ailerons on the upside or downside were equal. However the up aileron had high drag and so caused yaw in the wrong direction so more rudder is needed to counter that and point the nose in the correct direction. Then as you say torque, gyro, and other effects (normally corrected in modern craft) and you have a bit of a mess ;) -

Aileron designs were poor and often some craft would not complete a roll in one direction or needed help major from rudder to start or complete. Make sure you are flying the latest version as roll rates generally were improved a lot (had become worse due to other changes). There are many opinions on WW1 FMs.. and we have researched and looked hard. Short of a few tweaks for the Alb's engine, and SPAD stall speeds there aren't any more changes in next version. -

You should see some smoke and a crunched craft on the ground. If not, perhaps your effects sliders are low ?? -

:). That is the old version he is running. Big yellow explosions are completely unrealistic and were removed in 1.30L. Personally I used to hate the yellow boom. Also when falling on the ground and knocking a wing it used to explode like that too which is nuts. That's fixed too. In the future we will have more effects added for the crash. -

You won't always hear a scream often you are too far away to hear. Also it depends on how badly hit he is. There are settings in the workshop for "hollywood" sounds then you may hear it more and your engine less, or you can go for realistic and mostly hear your engine above all else. -

Good series Pips thanks. I have the book but nice to refresh. The Pfalz D.III has various widely varying opinions posted from different pilots. It was often in poor condition on the field, and decayed quickly, often engines were reconditioned and under performing. This is mainly the features of the craft I modelled in OFF, the one the pilots usually flew, which was thought worse than the Albatros. However it is strong and good at diving. And still has two good guns often versus one gun or one and a half of the Se5 ;) -

No idea, but NVidia / ATI you may be able to setup different profiles per game etc in the display driver settings

Hi Condor44, We don't have any known crashes like that. Could be a graphics error as it's drawing lines and graphics at the time. Try setting up your video as per the FAQ, ATI or NVidia covered. FAQ explains it right at the top. CFS3 v.3.0? Install it and patch it first to 3.1 Then install OFF DVD (it is v.1.0). Then 1.30 then 1.30c then 1.30l (soon we will make one superpatch to replace all them). CFS3 v3.1? If you have newer CFS3 v3.1 no need to install it. Then install OFF DVD (it is v.1.0). It will ask for CFS3 CD/DVD to check and copy required files. Then you install 1.30 then 1.30c then 1.30l (soon we will make one superpatch to replace all them).

OFF will use a lot of video memory and cook everything nicely, weird stuff happens means GPU, GPU memory, CPU or CPU memory is cooking on gas.. Sometimes it could also be a power supply issue, extra strain, fans on full blast etc etc. -
It always was on :) - try a calmer gentler craft? Se5 is good.

Yep if the craft WILL crash as it's uncontrollable, or you are dead, it will exit after a few seconds. We will look at possibly adding further options but for now that's how it is. -
Could be overheating. Latest video drivers? Also check settings in NVidia control panel related to Anti Aliasing settings, I can't remember which but one gives flashing textures like triangles. Come out of Warp yourself more often, fly a little then warp in short sections. Tthat works better for me. -

Sounds like something became corrupt. Check the instructions on the download page on our website, spent a fair bit of time on that so it should make some sense :) http://www.overflandersfields.com/Downloads.htm Important install notes: If you have V1.28a or earlier installed: Grab ALL of these patches and install in order. So install 1.30 then 1.30c then 1.31L then any optional DM if used. If you have V1.30 : You need BOTH minipatches installed. So install 1.30c then 1.31L Then any optional DM if used. . If you have V1.30c already installed: Just download the 1.31L minipatch and apply that! No need for DM reinstall if you used any optional. -
hehe, no no closer to 500,000 wasn't it? Maths was never my strong point though.
