Albatros DIII Mayrhofer Fritsch
Polovski replied to Womenfly2's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Fantastic pics Matthias thanks for the cockpit shots hard to find pictures of the details. If you get chance to get some of forward view from the cockpit and cockpit left and right (and when it is more complete) that would be very useful. Thanks -
OvS is invited to take up the Kaiser's new weapon for a spin.
Polovski replied to OvS's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Fresh lick of pain and looking good. BTW I had to make a correction to OvS's post, this will be in a future Add-on (payware) not a free "patch." -
Rush? LOL - we have to make it yet, so doubt it will be out tomorrow somehow.

Yeah good idea OVS, that's what put me off finishing it at first no where to fly it lol and time spent not filling in other much needed craft. But SJ and others would make use of it too so may be worth it. -

Hi Matthias thanks that would be great :) Cheers Pol -
TrackIR wins hands down on that one, ok ok I wavered at the beer, but I can buy them one at time.

Pre-OFF purchase. Some questions.
Polovski replied to jaa's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Just to add as per the features list on the website, OFF has it's own WW1 campaign manager which is NOT CFS3's campaign engine at all.. it is written especially to handle WW1 campaign for OFF. http://www.overflandersfields.com/Features.htm -
If you use a proper Wide Screen monitor the FOV width does expand to see more left/right (i.e. does not distort). Not sure we can alter CFS3 to have a different in sim variable FOV other than zoom in/out views. I guess you mean a smooth zoom in/out. Views are built into the aircraft xdp and in game they are controlled by CFS3 graphics code.

Yes there's a new offer, we are hoping the graphic here will change soon too. It's not necessarily permanent, but we want to make OFF available to as many people as possible. We can't please everyone Uncleal but we try... If you wait until 2020 it may be $1.99 if we are still here ;)

Do not type in the number of kills, use the pull down box for that. Make sure you choose the right a/c type.

Resolution Problem with Claim Form
Polovski replied to Lothar of the Hill People's topic in WOFF 1 2 3 / UE - General Help
Nope, maybe check you are running at the native resolution of your monitor and that you have the proper monitor driver installed (i.e. not "generic monitor / display" whatever for the display. -
Yeah was coming along nicely with Rabu's and others mods, even had one of the devs or someone close to, who was providing us with mods to make it more realistic. Scenery was pretty convincing for the time apart from the short distances especially with WM's modded tiles.

:) nice ones guys keeps us cheered ;) Welcome back Nio!

Dej Dead is Dead is controlled by CFS3 which is the problem. Use Death on Die roll for original OFF's Phase 2 way to cope with that - gives you a chance of hospitalisation instead, that's what it is for. As above if you imagine we'll format your hard drive if you die, then you wouldn't chase so many craft down. AI also need that too though in that case.
-
Lol Hellshade, just imagine that. We did consider a "format hard drive" option if you got shot down to add "an edge" ;)

Welcome Matthias. Thanks for the extra background information - everyone here loves the detail. Wonderful to have a hobby that is your work too stay with it and we hope to see many more projects in the future. The OEFFAG you have there is such a beautiful work of art as well as an aircraft - great to see it even in the part finished stage. By the way, for our simulator I did start an OEFFAG as a side project needs a lot more conversion work to make it look less like a standard D.III and more details added, but getting there slowly. The paint/texture is not correct either just happens to be what the DIII was wearing ;) but the extra info and pics will help. -

Lol that's the idea ;) most people will not be super aces, but of course there are always some ;) There are many things that you can set to make it harder etc. Check out the sticky thread above this one, for a tougher more realistic experience. http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showtopic=37440 -
Hospital stay is in there. Check your pilot settings in workshop re dead is dead etc. If you play dead is dead CFS3 will report you dead a lot more often no chance of hospital. Just the way it is. If you choose "Easy" then OFF will give you a chance to survive more often try that if you have not. Put Weather mode on AI weather Gen, and then you can choose light "Campaign Mission Frequency" 1 mission a day normally. You can also put it on manual/auto advance, and skip a few days missions if you like to account for leave etc. It's been noted previously AI should break off more (runaway is already in there and they often do actually, but usually in a way that gets them killed like fly level and head for home). For some fewer encounters, lasting less time may be duller, so it again would somehow need scalability somewhere, something we'll look at if possible. A sim is unrealistic before you even start, you have many lives, in real life you have of course only one. So many players would engage a lot less in real life. Many factors at play, and as always - we look into things best we can and will do the best we can.

Welcome Launchbury Suggest you read the zillion other posts in the forum saying it's too hard or just right very few say too easy. I think you'll change your mind quite rapidly :) As UK_W says there are many settings to make it harder or easier to taste anyway. -
Yep been noted already Hasse

All good fun no worries :)

Hi Phrog, if you remove do it via Add/Remove programs not from the start menu shortcut. That might help. If it's Vista you may need to set the program to have admin rights, (think it's in the FAQ), but if you have problems do as I say email support thanks.

LOL maybe "OFF: Free Sex" might sell well ?

Just for the record the pilot in our Virtual cockpit is much more correctly proportioned than the view/screenshot shows. He does not have "small feet" but instead the viewpoint from the pilot eyes in the pit is slightly wide angle hence the perspective change. The angle of view is designed for the forward view from the pit to feel good. Not too wide to distort too much, but enough to take in enough visually and look reasonably natural (we have to think of those without TrackIR too). Every figure model I see has a long/short body, or short legs, or big head or whatever, not matter how much measuring games companies do, they never look right. Anyway they are simulation games at the end of the day and just about every game I ever played had odd shaped "humans" in there or they move oddly whatever. Very hard to make a perfect figure. It's really not worth arguing over Rabu.
