  1. Is it not already the case, more or less? I am sometime ahead of schedule when I fly CAS mission, and I have to fly around a few minutes until the ground units do spawn.
  2. Post random things thread

An earthquake just occured where I live. Destructions are widespread, but as you can see on this picture of mine, despite the running chaos, we do keep our spirit.
  3. First gen short range missiles were all kind of crappy. This technology wasn't mature yet. I am playing a rolling thunder marathon, with the expansion (that is a lot of smaller campaigns). I'm finishing the second rolling thunder campaign and out of 40 kills, only two were AIM-9B. And Gods know I fire them in almost every encounter and very carefully. They are just expensive weights for the planes. Just like AA-2A or 1st gen Shaffrir. Things get better in the late sixties/early seventies, on both side. You can achieve kills quite easily with AA-2D atolls as long as you treat the missile respectfully.
  4. Will test as soon as I am back from work.
  5. Happy Birthday Wrench

Happy birthday, Wrench. Thanks for all your works.
  6. La Corsica non è italiana. ;)
  7. Cuba it was indeed. Mandatory screeny: showing to the landing troops the colors.
  8. Hadn't had any problems with the terrain on my side. And I did installed it properly. Only issue was the loadouts & a strange thing with the EF2000
  9. Well, even in a F-14 was I defeated. Didn't saw the badgers, though. Every time, the campaign ends when the Soviet fleet is mauled by NATO. With a defeat.
  10. Okay, Downloaded this, installed all the stuff plus the last weapon pack, that is this one. http://combatace.com/files/file/13929-weapons-pack-2/ Still, my planes do have only very few weapons available. For instance, Mirage F1M can only use Mk84 bombs and AIM-9P5 'winders. The same goes for other planes. What's wrong?
  11. 200 years ago: the fall of an Empire

    Classic french anglophobia.
  12. R-530 aren't that bad. In ten years of SF/SF2ing, I even scored one hit (yeah, only one...) with it.
  13. 200 years ago: the fall of an Empire

I've never considered Napoleon as a great man and seen 1814 nor 1815 as defeats. He was a butcher, good ridance.
  14. Never seen this Al Dhafra skin anywhere in my books... Is this a what if? Do you have any sources?
  15. Fulcrum Drivers and GO Pro

    Damn well said... Lucky b*stard!
  16. The Good and Bad news....

One victory, good! Keep up the spirit, I am amazed by your will and fighting spirit.
  17. North Vietnam harbor taking a pounding.
  18. And With That..........

Accept, Dave & familly, my deep hearthed condoleances.
  19. Fulcrum Drivers and GO Pro

Some peoples do have great jobs. By the way, didn't he fired the gun at some point? Around 1:40?
  20. War Stories

My paternal grand-father fought like all frenchmen in WW2. As most men, he was captured somewhere in Burgundy when the army collapsed in June 1940. He spent the remaining five years in a P.O.W camp in Germany. I've never met him as he died in the late 1960's, but my grand mother and my father talked about me. We do have some relics about that time: a lot of pictures, some drawings and even german things he managed to steal in the camp. His brother wasn't as lucky. He was killed in the fierce fightings in early june 1940, on the Somme front. Or "why I hate the ignorance about 1940 fightings and the whole "surrendering monkeys thing". They beat the crap out of us, but man, we fought and they bleed. My maternal grand-father was from Algeria -which was French at the time-. He volunteered for the army in 1936 and joined the 1st Algerian Tirailleur regiment. His unit was in Algeria in 1939-1940, protecting the borders against Italy. They went back in the fray after Torch Operation and he participated, among other things, in the Provence landing and the subsequent campaigns. Never wanted to talk much about it, though. When my late grand-mother died, she gave me all the memories that was left, that is his military book as I am the only boy in the whole familly that have some interest in things other than TV and football. Oh, and my godfather volunteered to fight against the insurgency in Algeria back then, but that's a family thing indeed.
  21. Well, I for one do not have the DLC, and I guess a lot of people don't. If you have some spare time, you should perhaps do both, like Nato Fighter or SF2V. By the way: a package with a campaign? :)
  22. Is a red side version possible? By the way, couldn't french & british navies be included in later campaigns? I'd like to shoot some Fulcrum down in a crusader. :)
