  1. Lockerbie bomber most likely getting out

As I stated before, two other entities aren't innocent in this case.
  2. Lockerbie bomber most likely getting out

Most certainly part of a wider deal... regarding oil, or the Bulgarian nurses, or controlling the countless african migrants using libyan coast as a departure base. That's the usual Qaddafi's method. You can be sure that whenever he holds you by the balls, he'll note hesitate to crush them unless you give him what he wants. And sadly, he has a lot of assets to hold us by the balls.
  3. Carrier Life

Thanks for sharing all this with us. It's most interesting indeed! Best regards to Southernap, and thanks for the pics, the story, also thank you Dave for posting it.
  4. Lockerbie bomber most likely getting out

Just a few thought: That guy is certainly not an angel... And Libya acceptance of the responsability is suspect too. But that Lockerbie bombing is indeed very obscure. From various things seen and read "over there", and without saying too much, S*ria and I*an aren't white in this massacre. They aren't white at all...
  5. Time to re-install FE!
  6. Looks great indeed. Speaking about F-15, it's definitely a what if and quite off-topic, but here's a little suggestion: Was tested by Faf as an heavy interceptor, before the Mirage 4000 program took the lead. Ironically, both ideas (F-15, M4000 and even F-18 for the navy) were dropped because of ridiculous politicies... As for the paint scheme, it would probably have been the usual M2000 deux-tons.
  7. Bit of careers help

Welcome to the club, mate! I'll have to do the same thing, as the (French) Navy has opened a position and proposed it to me (among others). Oh, and learn to swim too... Gee... I'm afraid of water! Just like that guy in "In the Navy" video clip.
  8. There is a great comparison table somewhere. Differences between games are brillantly showed, but I do not remember where it lies and if it has been updated. So, basically: -New planes -Better avionics -New eye candies -New files architecture I personnaly wait for a new computer before bying the games, but if you can afford it, buy them! I bought all the previous generation ones, even if I was less interested in WoV, just to support TK.
  9. Well... I need updates!

Wow... the Internet moves so fast. "Only" a month of hiatus (moving, demanding job and so on) and somewhat 70 pages of new topics to read! Let's go back to the basics: -Is there some new forum rules? -I guess our great modders are busy with SF2 upgrading, but is there some new you-can't-avoid-it-because-it's-so-great mod that had been released in July? By the way, and most important of all: Guys, glad to see you! Like coming back to the bar one love after months of absence, and see all the beer-friends!
  10. Well... I need updates!

All right guys, thanks a lot!
  11. Have you locked your keys in the car?

Never happened to me with the car. But with the flat. Annoying...
  12. Need some advices from you, US guys

Hi there! Let's put it simply: I saw today, while eating and web-surfing during my lunch break THE job proposal I was looking for. All is there: it fits perfectly with my studies, abilities and interests, it does not ask for much experience as I'm still quite young, asking for one foreign language (well I'm a native speaker of one foreign language... and can speak German too). Well, it looks awesome! Of course, it's not in France, nor in a neighbouring country, as employement opportunities here are just non-existent (and I've been searching since March). It's in the US, more precisely Washington D.C. So, I thought some fellow at combatace could help with some questions: - It might be silly, but how do you, Americans, do cover letters? I know resumes are different from the french model as I already got a British/US compatible resume. But what about cover letters: do you write them like us, that is basically first who you are and why you are here, then what you can offer the company (with detailled experiences and so) and finally some details on when you're open to the job and thanking people for reading and stuffs? - In the job application thing, they as applicants to state their current salary and also propose the one we want. Well, that's quite uncommon here, as employers are in a "take the low salary offered or leave" mood, so I'm confused. Can someone tell me what is the standart salary for a post-graduate (master degree) young fellow in the US? How much can I ask for it to be coherent with D.C daily costs and with US usual wages? - Will some volunteers be kind enough to read and correct my first all-english cover letter? Thanks guys! As soon as I'd have worked on my cover letter and sent it back, if the said company is interested, I'll have to convince the girl friend to come with me, and it won't be the easiest part. It will actually be a reckless battle, but you married guys know what I'm talking about...
  13. Need some advices from you, US guys

Hi there! Sorry for necroposting, but as I'm back, I thought you guys had the right to know how it evolved. Well, you won't be surprised: as planned, I was not the lucky one. All I got was the usual "be sure we will keep your resume in your records and whatever". Thanks nevertheless to all of you for your help and advices, be sure that it has been usefull and will be in the very near future. Next step: september! I let the two summer months live their lives, and after the summer holidays (office is quite empty here, we're at 50%), let's go back to applications!
  14. Johh Finn, USN, CMOH

What a life and what a man!
  15. Air France Flight Missing

Whatever the outcome, I want to highlight Brasilian forces performances and achievements in this tragedy. Brazilian forces gave proof that they are no longer "little boys". Congrats and thanks for the help!
  16. Need some advices from you, US guys

First of all, thank kindly gentlemen, for all your advices! Roger, so just like we do here. No special "anglo-saxon" thing. For instance, here it's very widespread to state your age and marital status on your resume (even if it's illegal... but who cares?), and I've learned it's not the case in UK/US. Roger that. So the vacancy offer induced me in error, I'll avoid to mention any salary requirements and wait for the offer if they do contact me. It's a web based offer... As it's a very closed sector, I hope there is not too much competitors, but there will be of course domestic ones. And as I will need a sponsorship as a foreigner, it will not be easy. A friend on mine got a phone interview and was almost hired in some Seattle Company but they eventually ruled him out because they didn't want to pay for the sponsorship. Add to this that my written english, because I'm rustier and rustier, is far from perfect... I'll send you my cover letter as soon as possible, thank you kindly! Well, in €, it's quite the same then. But I'm sure I would earn a lot more in the US. Here, you cost your employer 2 to 3 time your salary. Social taxes. So he does not want to pay you much. Then, a big part of your salary is directly paid to the state. Others social taxes. And whatever, you'll still have to pay other taxes on your gross income, not on the net! France is a fiscal hell. Personnal example: I was in severe need of money in my last year as a student. I took a job, part time, in a call center and managed to earn something like 800 € in a month. Well, those 800 became somewhat 550€ after the state directly took me the taxes and I got a few days later my city taxes, amounting 350€. I was left with 200€... The rest was in Social security and other things treasury. Quite hard for a ressources-less student. As for work condition, I'm sure they are less sweet than here. But we have two sorts of job: civil services (35h a week, you're sure you won't be fired whatever the crisis, whatever you did wrong; sort of worker paradise) and private sector (legally 35h a week, in reality closer to 40H+ without benefits). And don't forget all the crappy contracts here like internships, short term contracts and things like that. Underpaid, maximum workhours. That's what I'm currently doing. Those things were put forward to fight unemployement (gravitating around 10% since the 80's; More probably 15% unofficialy) and only serve to sc..w you. Well, that's not the subject by the way. So guys, thanks a lot for your advices and be sure I'll revert to you later. My hopes are not too high, as stated before. I've always been sceptical with web-based offers, even on the company website. I'll send my application because it perfectly fits with my studies and abilities. If I got it, then w00t, If I don't, it will be a training for more US/Canada jobs later.
  17. Yep, indeed, and I perfectly agree. Actually, graphics come not as a priority in my list. But what we got in mods (repaints, trees, some life in countryside -farms, roadsigns, electrical things) is so great and I take it so much for granted that I would like things like that be part of TK's sims out of the box. I'm not really speaking or caring about skyscrappers in towns actually, as I think they do not fit so much into Europeans or Middle east cities. Don't really know about VN. But of course, all you said and Viper said (loved the combat flight sim versus system management sim thing) got total approval from me. Man, I remember all the way the games took since I got my first copy in 2004... Now, there are clouds, decent AI, populated airbases (with destroyed aircrafts!), enhanced avionics, lots of "under the skin" changes. TK did and is still doing it good.
  18. Your first combat flight sim...

I own the three dynamics ones here: A10, Red Baron and AOTP. All are great, and I'm still missing AOTP and its great add-on.
  19. That's exactly why I love his games. These are not lite sims, especially since lateste releases, netheir are they keyboard drill -thanks for that term!- This point, plus the covered eras, plus the outstanding community and the awesome mods made by awesome peoples. I must admit I lack imagination, but I apart from new theaters/new planes, I haven't much add-ons to ask for. Avionics things and stuff? I'm very happy when new features do appear, but as I lack the technical culture about radars, RWR and things like that, I just can't imagine what can be improved... Well perhaps the laser guided bomb thing and other A2G munitions. Apart from that: I'm happy with the current graphics, If I had a state of the art PC, I would ask for better ground textures, but that's the limited size of it. AI has been greatly improved since I bought the game, I'm quite happy with it too, but indeed one can always improve it. Well, a few things I would like: easy to use campaign editor, the Red Crown stuffs Dave was talking about, new ini stuffs like this possible escort thing are great too... I'm personnaly glad with the path SFP family took since 2002 and since I got the game. They are definitely not the same games. As soon as I have the correct PC needed, I will buy all the new release without even hesitating.
  20. Yeah, Packaging seems quite strange... You are not knowing what you're buying. If you are quite at ease with english and do own a credit card and a good internet connexion, buy at TK's! The only problem is the lack of a physical support, but you are free to burn a CD with your downloaded exe.
  21. I've seen that game in stores too. But here's my advice: buy directly at Thirwire and download it. More money will go in TK's hands and you'll have a fully supported game.
  22. Merci à notre ami Suisse! Par contre, je trouve les markings un peu bizarres... Thanks to our Swiss friend! By the way, am I the only one thinking that the french planes markings are quite strange? They are not like what I'm used to...
  23. Remembering D-DAY

    .
  24. Guys, I'm humbling asking for french planes shot! Show us the Mirages and mysteres!
  25. Bah, a lot of site like ebay, price minister, amazon or whatever sure have some copies of JSF hanging around. But I wonder if it will run under Vista. Back to the topic, I remind too having been downed above A-stan in a JSF campaign, during an attack against an armored column, and then playing the hero with my little gun against those tanks. Great times, golden age of Flight Sim!
