  1. Encountered this strange bug about one year ago with the engine sound (think it was one of the F-18E). I installed the bird in a mod and the engine sound file got corrupted somewhere... I download back the plane and it was ok (i put back the first version of every file and when i put the engine one i got a stealthy hornet)... I scratched my head to find it back then :)

  2. *CU-177* RCAF MQ-9

    View File

    PER Read-Me

To be used on SF2 GK_General_Atomics_MQ-9Reaper_Blk_30_ER by gkabs that can be found here :

    https://combatace.com/files/file/18046-general-atomics-mq-9-block-30-er-reaper/

The RCAF have finally decided in 2023 to bought 11 MQ-9B SkyGuardian armed drones.

5 units will be based with the 8th Wing
5 units will be based with the 16th Wing
1 unit will be based with the 19th Wing

The serail numbers, plane numbers, plane designation have not yet been officialised. I dig down the drone designation within the RCAF and the next available number as for today is the CU-177. So i decided to give it the CU-177 designation. I also decided to give the the serials number 177001 to 177011 to match the RCAF serail designations.

You will get the CU-177 skin in this package

    Installation:

Copy the current pack objects/aircraft folder in your game GK_General_Atomics_MQ-9Reaper_Blk_30_ER aircraft folder.
Copy the current pack objects/decals folder in your game GK_General_Atomics_MQ-9Reaper_Blk_30_ER decals folder.

Copy the GK-MQ-9_Blk_30_ER.ini content to the game GK_General_Atomics_MQ-9Reaper_Blk_30_ER aircraft folder and change textureset number accordingly.
Copy the GK-MQ-9_Blk_30_ER_USERLIST.ini content to the game GK_General_Atomics_MQ-9Reaper_Blk_30_ER aircraft folder.
RCAF serials and plane numbers are real one's.

    Credits:

All those in the original ReadME
    gkabs for the plane itself
Thirdwire for creating the Strike Fighters series.
Me for the new skins and decals :).

    Happy flights!

  4. The US have kept secret the development of special weapons that were made for the newly Space Force.

In the year 2023, the United Space Space Force received their 12 first fighter pod for their Earth Base (tail code EB). In the year 2026, the squadron to be based on the moon (tail code MB) will received their 12 fighter pods.

  5. That simplifies a lot.

Note that the ''side'' roundels have changed in 2017-2018 period. See this image as exemple A “new look” for RCAF aircraft - News Article - Royal Canadian Air Force - Canada.ca

As for the squadrons, you must have the 410 as this is the Tactical Fighter Operational Training Squadron.

Would be a good thing to have the 401 or 409 (Cold Lake) as the West component, but i would surely put the 425 or 433 (Bagotville) for the East component. And i would not go with more than 24 birds (2 sqn of 12 unit) if it's to fill a gap (we don't have that much money) :)

For the Sqn decals, a lot have already been done on the CF-18 i made the decals for on the ODS30th anniversary project. Might have to take a look :)

As for the name, as there is already the CT-155 Hawk in RCAF inventory and going with the RCAF plane number designations, i would doubt they would name the F-15 CF-155. So I would go with CF-115 instead. All serials number will have 6 numbers beginning by 115 (115001, 115002, and so on).

You can send me what you will have done and test it with pleasure and give you my comments :)

  6. Canada did not fly US fighter jets only, they flew the CF-100 (fighter jet but referred as an interceptor), but hey we made it to the production line and it served with RCAF and Belgium :)

Does the F-35 is the right choice? I can't tell but the JAS-39 Gripen E could have been a good choice too as it would have been assembled in Canada. Not to mention way more less expensive to buy and maintain. But we love to buy American stuff :)

Now I can't wait seeing them land at the airport the CF-18's (and various other) where i live land as a remote strip :)

  8. Happened to me two weeks ago... GPU probably generated a little bit more heat then usual then ate the Aim-9 coming at it...

GPU was a bit old (Nvidia GTX 960 2mb). I had it since 2016...

So went to Ebay to find a replacement and they were way too expensive, not to mention most of them were from China and i do not thrust them to send me ''real'' GPU but cloned one's.

I finally found one at an affordable price in Toronto and i put the biggest  i could put in my Alienware X51R3 (went for Nvidia GTX 1060 3mb). Runs smoother at higher graphic settings. I will use this until i can change the whole PC in the future :)

    Good luck on your side!
