  11. A question about this two files, Weapons ini and Weapons data. I have modified a pair of things and I am not sure were is the right placement. I thing is inside of folder Objects, together with other files like Bulletobbject, Missileobject, etc. Other question, after editing with the Weapon Editor, the other weapons eventually not included in the Weapon data list continued to work normally, or must be included ALL weapons in the list? As example: i have worked with the Shaprir 1 missile, extracted and check some parameters. Now a new folder named Shafrir I is inside of the folder weapons with the new parameters. After the weapon editor had created a new weapons data and ini. But after checking the list of weapondata, I have observed that not all weapons are displayed now. Thanks
  12. This SAM dispositive posted by F117NightHawk can work wth SF2 Israel? I search something like this, Egyptian SAMs for Suez-Nile area about 1969-1970. Thanks
  13. HI I have a question about campaign building. One squadron must entry in scene about so seven months after the start of the campaign with a new model of aircraft for his first sortie. That is a way to programe this type of event? A second question:That exist an add-on, gunpod 23mm for the MiG-21FL, PF and PFM? Thanks
  14. Nice. Actually PLAAF insignias were displayed a very short time, from Nov 1 to Nov 30, 1950. From Dec 1, 1950 all MiGs(VVS and PLAAF)displayed only KPAFAC insignias. Like Soviet MiGs, insignias were carried in fuselage, underwings but not in upperwings. The PLAAF changed at the last months of the war and the MiGs display the title CVP in the front fuselage area(Chinese People's Volunteers). Also from Dec 1, 1950 the 50th IAD(177th IAP and 29th GIAP)introduced the MiG-15bis. The old MiGs with the RD-45F engine and the small airbrakes were transfered to the PLAAF but with the arrival of the Kozedub Div, the 324th IAD, by Feb 1951 some were also taked in service, because there was not enough new MiG-15bis. By May 19, 1951 a new batch of Bises arrived(Novosibirsk built),16 jets, and the old MiG-15s went back to the 151th IAD(The training Div for the PLAAF with the 72th and 28th GIAP). Finally the last old MiG-15s went to the fresh formed first North Korean Division, the 435th IAD and his first operative regiment the 447th, by Oct 6, 1951. The PLAAF start to take delivery of the first MiG-15bis later in the war, in October 1952 and the jets were only assigned to the two most skilled Div, the 3th, 4th FAD and a few for the 12th . The others continued to fight with the old MiG-15s. With the new MiG-15bis the PLAAF finally autorized this divisions to engage and fight F-86s, all others remained as before, only autorized to engaged fighter bombers.
  15. Excelent campaign and well documented. Recomended. In fourth mission now with MiG-21F-13 from EAF 10th Sqn.
  16. Interesant this document PDF. Good information.
  17. Sorry, mea culpa. 8km is for the R-13M. As you say range of R-3S is abouth the 2.5 NM, so 4600m, but this numbers definitively are quite a lot too optimistic. Another good reference about Sidewinder: http://www.ausairpower.net/TE-Sidewinder-94.html
  18. Hi: Searching for a skin of EAF MiG-15bis about the times of the Suez crisis-1956. That mean green insignias, green-white flag in the vertical surface area and 3 black stripes in wings and two in fuselage. No ID number. Same scheme was used by the 1th Sqn with MiG-17F at Almaza AB. Thanks
  19. In campagne now of Six Days war at the side of the EAF(UARAF)and flying the MiG-21F-13 the task is how to take the best of your two R-3S. A little of history. After specifications the R-3s(based in the AIM-9B) captured in Taiwan had a operational range of 8km with a speed of Mach 2.5. Warhead of 7.4 kg. Actually the R-3S had serious limitations. The activation time is long, 22 seconds and the minimum engagement range is 800m-1km. That mean if you fire the missile at 700m or less is launched for nothing. Also the engagement envelope, the angle and the tracking is very poor and the warhead is quite small. In the first day of the Six Days war, Jun 5, 1967, MiG-21s fired 18 R-3S to obtain three hits and one near miss. One Mirage IIICJ was shot down by Maj N.Shuwakri with two R-3S and Maj A.Hamdi shot down one SMB.2 with another R-3. A second SMB.2 was poss damaged by the near explosion of a fourth R-3 and finished with the 30mm cannon. This situation was quite usual with the R-3. The warhead was small and dont had the enough punch to bring the target down and most of the times was nessesary to launch both R-3S to shot down the enemy aircraft. In the following days MiGs fired a few other R-3s scoring only two other Mirages damaged. By the War of Attrition the situation was the same and because EAF and SyAAF operated mainly MiG-21PF and MiG-PFM(Not cannon)the results were poor. The MiG-21F-13 with his 30mm cannon(only 30 rounds)were of good value in this times. Situation improved later at the end by the spring of 1970 with the arrival of the MiG-21MF with his four missiles and the two standard 23mm cannon. In SF 2 is also quite difficult to score kills with your R-3S. Only advantage in game, if you hit the target with only one R-3S, you destroy the target.
  20. Very welcome this cockpit for the MiG-17F. Thanks. A cockpit for MiG-15bis can be also very welcome someday.
