Problem Installing Terrain Mods
MigBuster replied to IamFritz's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
The Terrain engine is new in SF2NA - but TW ran out of money I suspect to get it optimised properly I have replaced it with another which gives back the FPS - here is the latest I think http://members.quicknet.nl/lm.broers/ - unzip and see the readme.txt - basically a copy and paste job -

Trouble loading Tracker Ir into Strike
MigBuster replied to Dale1937's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
The game should pick it up automatically Make sure you either change the default keys in Track IR or map them in SF (F7/F8/F9/F12) -
Lockheed Martin’s Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter and EADS’ Eurofighter Typhoon have been eliminated from the FX-III competition to build South Korea 60 new fighter jets, Yonhap News Agencyreports. That leaves Boeing’s F-15 Silent Eagle as the only remaining aircraft vying for the contract. Citing a source who is familiar with the matter, Yonhap reported on Friday that Lockheed Martin had failed to submit a bid that was within South Korea’s 8.3 trillion won ($7.43 billion) budget, effectively eliminating the F-35 from contention...................... http://thediplomat.com/flashpoints-blog/2013/08/20/f-35-and-eurofighter-eliminated-from-s-koreas-fx-iii-competition/ also: http://defense-update.com/20130819_boeing-f-15se-silent-eagle-for-korea.html

Yeah you need a program that can handle layers (Photoshop / GIMP are 2) The rivets/lines should be on different layers in any template If you don't have a good template - then you need to create all the rivets and lines yourself. -
Does All FE stuff work in FE2?
MigBuster replied to usafphantom2's topic in Thirdwire - First Eagles 1&2
Its the same as for Strike fighters - If you put in an old mod with old ini files that have been radically changed in FE2, then, the game will use the older versions, and you may encounter problems. The only way round this is to compare the old ini with the new one (extracted from the cats) and see if anything vital is missing. FE2 was last updated in 2010? - so it has missed all the lock outs that SF received - therefore the old CAT extractor probably works fine -
So dogs take onboard the training advice of you tube videos? - wish Humans did that. They will make short work of your gun collection judging by that......better hide them

Video settings
MigBuster replied to Veltro2k's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Totally system dependent question - I have a 24" (16:9) monitor but also have a GTX 670 - thus can run it at 1920 x 1080 which is the native resolution. If the monitor is 16:9 then you may have to run at 1280 x 720 if your system cant do the above. Even if once you decide on the res - the in game graphics settings and NVIDIA profile settings will have to be tweaked to what works for you - because running it a max settings may not be practical - dont you love the dynamism of PCs! -
Letting dogs chew razors - crikey hope the animal wellfare people dont see this - its their world too you know

Has a tile based terrain like Strike Fighters - so limited to resolution and creativity............. The content of this sim is what makes it so good.

HMCS Bonaventure (CVL22) ------------------------- 1957 to 1960s era style deck HMCS Bonaventure (CVL 22) was a Majestic class aircraft carrier. She served in the Royal Canadian Navy and Canadian Forces Maritime Command from 1957 to 1970 and was the third and the last aircraft carrier to serve Canada. The ship was laid down for the British Royal Navy as HMS Powerful in November 1943. At the end of World War II, work on the ship was suspended in 1946. At the time of purchase, it was decided to incorporate new aircraft carrier technologies into the design. Bonaventure never saw action during her career having only peripheral, non-combat roles. However, she was involved in major NATO fleet-at-sea patrol during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
