Diehl Defence says it has started development work on an air-to-surface variant of the Raytheon AIM-9L air-to-air missile, which it believes could "contribute effectively to the multi-role capability of theEurofighter" for the German air force. On show for the first time at ILA, the purpose of the laser-guided Sidewinder, or "LaGS", is to engage "lightly armoured surface targets in the air-to-surface, close air support and urban close air support roles", the German guided weapons specialist says. By replacing the missile's infrared seeker with a semi-active laser, the design does not affect the AIM-9's total weight or centre of gravity, so no changes to its aircraft interfaces or rail launcher are required, removing the need for a customer to "shoulder considerable expenses for re-integration", it says. The same way you engage bombers in any era - not directly at them if possible - basically lining up behind them has always been suicide. In SF2 you really need a TrackIR IMO then you can do the angles thing a lot better If you are coming in from behind you will need to constantly jink or fly across the formation - you can go vertical and hit them from above and below but again need to be wary where the guns are. Although the bombers have cannon its slow firing at least - but only a few shots will down you

No simulators and planes that were not that easy to fly = easy death If DCS P-51 is any thing to go by its easy to see why so many died through maybe stalling, engine failure, losing control etc - so many different ways to die!
