Thought there was one built in to SF2V with others - have you looked under Single Mission -> Load Mission? -
Why is everybody bugging out from SF series?
MigBuster replied to FLOGGER23's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Well I went to the store - and yes the best you can do is get an SF2 title for $29.99 then a few DLCs (although FE2 is a steal at $19.99) If you went for Europe you would get: Player Flyable Aircraft A-7D Corsair II A-10A Thunderbolt II F-100D Super Sabre F-105D Thunderchief F-4C/D/E/F/M Phantom II F-15A Eagle Harrier GR.1/3 Hunter FGA.9 DLCs Mirage 5BA $5.99 F-8E (FN) $3.99 So thats not too bad really (mainly if you don't have other titles with those jets) - and SF2 does have going for it that these are all revamped 3D pits and 3D models to the same standard! (pity the terrain is **** but that can be changed for free.) -
Just got to laugh really - surprised hes not in the Expendables

DCS/LOMAC Screen Shot Thread

After successfully managing to compressor stall my left engine to the point I couldn't start it again - I had to make a 1 engined landing - which made me lose a wheel in the mud. Was unaware however that Yoda was a USAF mech and would somehow levitate my A-10 in the air repairing all the faults Tadaaaaaa - just like new - if only he could have found a way to retract the ladder as well - I might have taken off again to stress test the engines once more. -

Reality is most are going no where - there is nothing out there with the variety and quick fix SF2 gives you - and a lot of the add on's still work (for the time being). Had to laugh at the people moaning at FC3 - 10 years old rehash with a new F-15C model and pit (non clickable) they say - sound familiar? But all the 3D pits and different types of Jets and terrains are what SF2 has over everything else - and I can still enjoy flying them. For me the latest patches are screwed up by whatever avionics60 is doing - so have left most of my installs at Nov11 and apr12. - and they will continue to live alongside Falcon 4 BMS and DCS A-10C - but whether TW still get my support depends really - if he wants to lock away the terrain files then he'd better come up with some good terrains to replace the **** that comes with the game. -
Pah - I get them - and I'm not 40 - and cant they airbrush some of those photos - yuck

Check their forums out as a starter Thats still DX9 - so could be related to the version you are using. -
If you are after WVR guns only with AI this is not the sim for you - stick to SF2 The AI was deadly in Allied Force WVR and BVR but it seems BMS are more about the Multiplayer experience - WVR the AI are no problem as you state. However in BVR you can get your ass handed to you on a plate - and they are pretty good at denying your radar lock etc. For me its a lot of fun setting up TEs 4 v 4 is especially for this - because using your radar and keeping up SA is what you need to be good at - you should never be looking to merge. The AIM-120s work very well (So do the R-77/73 and AIM-9X) The FLCS has been coded to the last line of the real thing - so you wont find a better sim in this regards. The avionics are spectacular - HMCS and being able to slave TGP to radar for A-A. And the campaign is just amazing whatever way you look at it.

Enabling more carrier missions
MigBuster replied to delta_lima's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
NA added a ton of stuff - not just all the ships and new aircraft, but naval warfare, populated carriers, cruise missile attacking AI - but Its not supported on XP at all - and I think for XP you have to use the old terrain because its a DX10 game only. Also thats a single core PC you have only ? (must be 7 years old?) -

Why You Should Check Out Flaming Cliffs 2 (and the entire DCS series for that matter)
MigBuster replied to Dave's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
The simpleness of the TW DLC Jet range is a big deal to his majority customer base - you can literally jump into the DLC straight away with a large choice of weapons - Ive flown an Omani Hunter over Israel, A-4A over Dhimar, MirageIII0 / A-4G / A-4K over Iceland for example. I'm very much in the wait and see for DCS - the sim has a long way to go so I would hope that ED may work on a newer terrain engine, and dynamic campaigns for their next major release - and by that time (2022) there might be some (better) aircraft to fly. A Vietnam or Israel pack fully supported by the releasing studio, with SAMs, Jets, AI behaviour, Terrain, Campaigns etc would be something I would probably buy. -

Upcoming DLC skins
MigBuster replied to Piecemeal's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Don't think so - I just altered Sundowners F-4D/E Euro skins (Tails only) to be generic skins Its unlikely the DLC skins will be as good as Sundowners - which are 2048x2048 and more detailed - but as said many times the DLCs are not really for modders - although there may be some other schemes in the pack you may want. -
Enabling more carrier missions
MigBuster replied to delta_lima's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
1 - In the campaign data.ini something like this would do it - if carriers are setup in the campaign. [AirUnit078] AircraftType=F-4J Squadron=VMFA333 ForceID=1 Nation=USMC StartDate=6/1972 DefaultTexture=USMCGrey3 StartNumber=0 BaseArea=Yankee Station <---------- CarrierBased=TRUE <--------------- CarrierNumber=66 <---------------- BaseMoveChance=0 .......... 2. What patch are you on - in SF2NA (which added a ton of new Naval features) you just add a carrier to the groundobject folder and a normal single mission will choose it when you pick a carrier based aircraft automatically. Before this you had to script a custom single mission - or if you have the mission editor you might be able to do it through that (someone else can answer that Im sure) -
Boom boom Actually funnier than the extremely rubbish Keith Lemon film I just saw.
