F-35 to replace JASDF F-4Ejs
MigBuster replied to SayethWhaaaa's topic in Military and General Aviation
You seen how much fuel the single engine F-35s carry internally - you want more range then you will probably be looking to purchase B-2s! You might find that Stealth also comes in handy for air defence as well - why let them know you are coming! Gen 4 is obsolete - pretty sure when the F-22s wipe the floor with everything 4th Gen in training scenarios its not airframe or kinetic performance that's giving them the massive advantage. -

F-35 to replace JASDF F-4Ejs
MigBuster replied to SayethWhaaaa's topic in Military and General Aviation
The F-35 is superior to all 4th Gen fighters - name another that can fly Mach 1.6 with a usable combat load? Its agility seems to stack up to a clean FA-18 based on pilot quotes - if so thats pretty good Acceleration - supposed to be clean block 50 F-16C Actually beng designed as a stealth fighter means it is far more survivable than any legacy jet against a real Air Defence. Against an enemy with no AD it can still carry a good external stores payload. The A/C have very good combat radius / range - which they can fly clean in most cases. Now add computing capability that other jets inclduing the F-22A can only dream of like EODAS to the mix and you have a pretty useful striker. There are even 3 different versions for different roles. -
Bullpups wtf?
MigBuster replied to donk05's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Real Life accuracy? AFAIK - the pilot fired the Bullpup then manually steered it to the target with a joystick - whilst flying the same route behind it! - nice target for gunners. -
Just another month isn't it?

Seem to remember an unmanned F-106A perform a similar landing many years ago in the snow. -
Iran displays captured UAV
MigBuster replied to rotarycrazy's topic in Military and General Aviation
The lack of damage suggests it either landed itself, or was landed by the Iranians, or Iran just built a big model. Can speculate forever but really cant rule out Iran using the EM spectrum to bring this down. Maybe complacency - flying the same routes (seems familiar) - flying lower and lower because there is no threat.........maybe some bloke watches it fly over his house every day............. -

I'm just going to buy it for the floating seagoing Comms building targets -
Depends how you define Fighter - I was going to say the only thing I could think of in service was the AR-4 Fightinghawk - but I still dont regard that as a fighter. Britanica: fighter aircraft, aircraft designed primarily to secure control of essential airspace by destroying enemy aircraft in combat. Wikipedia: A fighter aircraft is a military aircraft designed primarily for air-to-air combat with other aircraft

Something we are good at finally: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-15901351 UK women are 'fattest in Europe' Statisticians looked at the 19 European states data was available for The UK has more obese women than any other country in Europe, according to European Union figures. Data agency Eurostat, which looked at 19 countries, found nearly a quarter of UK women - 23.9% - were recorded as being obese in the year 2008 to 2009. Just over 22% of UK men were classed as obese, coming second only to Malta. A person is defined as obese if their body mass index (BMI), the result of a calculation involving weight and height, is above a certain level. The BMI correlates fairly well with body fat. Statisticians found the share of overweight and obese people increases with age in all of the 19 member states that data was available for. The data come from the European Health Interview Survey (EHIS) and was published by Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union. Its figures for the UK were based on data from England, although surveys suggest the percentage of obese adults in Wales and Northern Ireland is similar and Scotland's latest health report put the figure at 28%. After the UK, the countries with the highest levels of female obesity were Malta, with 21.1%, and Latvia, where 20.9% fulfilled that criteria. Meanwhile, after Malta and the UK, the countries with the highest instances of male obesity were Hungary - where 21.4% fall into that category - and the Czech Republic, where 18.4% are classed as such. The UK's high levels of obesity are in stark contrast to those in countries such as Romania, where just 8% of women were classed as obese along with 7.6% of men. Obesity levels were also found to be low in Italy, Bulgaria and France. In Italy, 9.3% of women were found to be obese and 11.3% men. Meanwhile, in Bulgaria levels of obesity for women and men were found to be 11.3% and 11.6%, with levels of France identified as being 12.7% and 11.7% respectively. The figures suggested that the proportion of women who are obese or overweight falls as the educational level rises. Last month, Health Secretary Andrew Lansley launched a bid to reduce obesity levels in England by 2020. The minister said people need to be honest with themselves about how much they eat and drink. He said that, overall, Britons should be eating five billion fewer calories a day than at present.
