No CTDs as yet Radio comms - had to work that out for ramp starts so am getting there - I stuck all the checklists and PDFs on the iPhone using FileMagnet to refer to them during the sim - better than having loads of manuals everywhere and no space. I haven't sorted the ILS out yet - but have managed 2 out of 2 dodgy landings on the impossible mission - one time landing on he last quarter of the runway! - would like to think the ILS actually helps me in this because in AF I never bothered.

Some cool things Slave the Sniper pod to A-A radar (and also use VVI/AOA/ADI/HSI properly): Light catching the scratches on the cockpit: HMCS: Rain on Camera affect: Night refuelling with working tanker instruction lights: Dynamic weather and clouds:

CTD Windows 7
MigBuster replied to rivalta's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
This applies: http://combatace.com/topic/67470-sfp1-running-on-windows-7/ Also Win 7 comes with DX11 - Pretty sure I needed to install the DX libraries for the older DX versions like DX9 which is what WOE uses. -
Fantastic joystick - mine lasted 6-7 years - but this year button 2 failed - so now have a Logitech Attack 3 - but would like a HOTAS thing

The in-cockpit noises are genius - give me almost a sense of light headedness when flying this coupled with the movement of the FM - extremely well done here. Quite pleased I got the impossible landing training mission first time - rudder pedals are pretty handy there!

So the same thing happens when you try to install it?

Did the game work before adding the skins? In the skin pack installer there should be a restore button to restore the original skins You may need to run it as admin - was never designed for WIn7 but it works okay for me. Also note there are a few tweaks needed to run AF on Win 7 - check out some old threads on here for the answers

The games not the problem - it sounds like Allied Force has not been removed properly from your computer which is why you cannot install it anymore - getting another disk or download will not change that - which is why you need to go through the Microsoft article tp remove the offending files. Once done you can reinstall AF. Where are you getting the idea you will lose your other games - you shouldnt have to uninstall anything else

flip - thats more than a Yak-42 crash mate - sad to see :(

You should be able to just install the skin again using LOd Editor - make sure yo replace the texture with the exact number as the file name - can you see the loaded skin in LODeditor. I installed my weapon skins using the skinpack installer - which seems to be better at doing some things You wont be pleased to hear - In BMS4 to install a skin you just place it in a folder like in Strike Fighters - job done

Used and abused....and now you want it back!!

Yeah sounds like its screwed - you would need to clean the parts you cant find off the system - you need to read this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2438651

Cool actually some the AF skins are really fantastic and surpass the BMS 4 ones - looks like JANHAS will be doing some anyway for that. Entire skin sets - well you can do it by trial and error using the LOD Editor skin by skin - but you will notice you still might not get everything - and its not always logical where things go. The only way I know is to use the skinpack installer - but even then you will need to compromise and use the chart I put in the USAF F-16 skin set pack on this site. The skins are in the format .skn - this is actually just a .zip file - so rename it to .zip and you will see how its constructed. You can then replace some of the skins with the JANHAS ones you want and rename the file to .skn. basically there is no magic button to do this that Im aware. You can do the F-16AM with LOD editor separate to the C with 2 different skins

The good old Amazon UK has it over here from £24.99 used (About $40.00) - with the highest at £64.99 ($104.47): http://www.amazon.co.uk/Hasbro-Falcon-4-0/dp/B00004UBQF/ref=sr_1_2?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1315338928&sr=1-2 Yep read it and weep - guess the ***** caught on.............

understand they have principles - but I would have paid good money for a commercial release of this standard called Falcon 5.0. I know someone has complained about the FA-18 pit - but as far as I care the F-16s is the important thing. If only Lead Pursuit could have come up with something at this level as a sequel.........................also who exactly is paying to keep their domain going?
-
Well one issue - which could be positive or negative - they appear to have replaced the killer robot MiG-29 pilot from Allied Force with one who doesnt seem to have a clue in a gun fight
