WOW - had no idea:

Okay......................sold

I spent a lot more on the 3 widescreen pits for F4: Allied Force a few months back! The thing is the original 1998 game is probably on classic gaming sites now as totally abandoned - after Free Falcon arrived you had to assume it was deader than AF

nvdxt.exe is one of the files in the lodeditor folder - where are you running it from? not program files I hope. Go to Preferences in the drop down menu and tick Use LP Database. Did you get to do this bit: 9. The first time you go to replace a skin, LODEditor will ask you the location of the DDS compression utility. Point it to the same folder you have LODEditor in and select the NVDxt.exe file. (This is the only time you have to do this.

Are you on Win Vista/7 ? Try Running the lodeditor as admin - right click -> properties -> compatibility tab What point do you get this message? I remember you had to point the LODEditor at a few programs in the LODEditor folder when using it for the first time.

Really - where was this?

Check the FAQ on the site - tells me its for Win XP and Win 7 - so expect it will run on 7 x64 because thats the mainstream now. You need the original Falcon 4.0 disk - which I got rid of years ago! - it wont work with F4:AF and it is not standlone. Looks like a lot of work - the terrain tiles look to be the same - but everything else looks better. Stability - well that remains to be seen. I will probably install DCS A-10C as my next sim to learn which I got a few months back.............if I ever get round to that even. So Falcon Versions in progress are now. Free Falcon 5 (Free Standalone) BMS 4 (Free Add on for original Falcon 4.0 disk) Open Falcon was disbanded a while back.....and Allied Force..........well LP are dead - so looks like I will be the only one using that - but its still a fantastic challenge in its late 1990s Balkans setting.

Question: Cold War fighters: Internal Jammers

Fantastic story thanks - shame about the outcome You're supposed to put this stuff in a book called F-16 in the cold war so I can buy it -

SUU-16
MigBuster replied to jjddoo's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Yep thats why it was going to be a test only - but glad to see you stepped in and failed miserably as well -
1. One way is to hit the big AA or AG buttons under the HUD on the ICP. 2. JanHas skins http://janhas.net/ Also here: http://combatace.com/files/category/128-falcon-40-allied-force-by-microprose/ Others you might find in older threads......

SUU-16
MigBuster replied to jjddoo's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Does it show in the loadout of any of the other F-4s or any other jet for that matter in the time frame? As a test set the SpecificStationCode=SUU16 on the pylon - then using the weapons editor give the suu-16 entry the same code by the way you did click on the Save button in the editor didnt you to create a new weapondata.dat? -
Question: Cold War fighters: Internal Jammers
MigBuster replied to GalmOne's topic in Military and General Aviation
Thanks for more of your comments and found an ace post on Phantom II avionics on that site! Yes I have several of his books where some of that thread info comes from, US Multi role Fighters, F-15C Eagle Units in Combat, F-15E Strike Eagle Units, F-16C Fighting Falcon Units of Iraqi Freedom....well worth a look! -
Question: Cold War fighters: Internal Jammers
MigBuster replied to GalmOne's topic in Military and General Aviation
There is no real information on such things - particularly with post cold war systems - but a few guesses I suspect..........based on General Dynamics highly accurate sales brochures :) For example - Falcon 4 simulates burn through about 25 miles with the APG-68 against Russian pods. Its not just the jamming method - it would be different for every Jet depending on Radar type/pod type and RCS of Jet. Then for example the RCS changes depending on external stores carried - and also some F-16s will have reduced signatures due to Have Glass etc etc..... So short answer is - you have to make it up. -
SUU-16

looks okay Did you change the years? Try including it in the F-4C_loadout.ini on the correct pylon and load the game up. comparing with another the only difference is your entry has SpecificStationCode= which you could take out - cant remember if that worked in SF1. Make sure you are not flying in 1964 btw [WeaponData030] TypeName=SUU23 FullName=SUU-23/A Gun Pod ModelName=suu-23 Mass=785.000000 Diameter=0.560000 Length=5.050000 AttachmentType=NATO,USAF,USN NationName=USAF StartYear=1965 EndYear=0 Availability=1 BaseQuantity=4 Exported=TRUE ExportStartYear=1965 ExportEndYear=0 ExportAvailability=1 WeaponDataType=3 GunTypeName=20MM_M61A1 MaxRounds=1200 MuzzlePosition=0.000000,2.700000,0.060000 LightPosition=0.000000,2.800000,0.060000 AimDirection=0.000000,1.000000,0.000000 EjectShells=1 EjectPosition=0.000000,0.530000,-0.300000 EjectVelocity=0.000000,0.000000,-2.000000 -
Right click on the desktop select properties -> Settings Tab -> Advanced button then select the NVIDIA tab If there isnt one then look in the control panel for an NVIDIA control panel Instructions for switching AA off will be on NVIDIAs web site I expect if you cant work it out - no idea what type of card you have so cant help in that regards - all this is listed in the dxdiag output you did - including the driver version you are using.

The chaps that built the Mirage Factory F-16s also concluded that the F-16A ADF was probably the first USAF F-16 to carry a medium range missile in service - despite other versions having the capability through upgrades - some info here: http://www.f-16.net/f-16_versions_article14.html http://www.joebaugher.com/usaf_fighters/f16_3c.html Could have been so different :
