Does anyone know why this is happening?

It looks okay - you are lacking in the Graphics memory department: Card name: ATI Radeon HD 4300/4500 Series Manufacturer: ATI Technologies Inc. Chip type: ATI display adapter (0x954F) DAC type: Internal DAC(400MHz) Device Key: Enum\PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_954F&SUBSYS_22711787&REV_00 Display Memory: 1913 MB Dedicated Memory: 505 MB Shared Memory: 1407 MB Current Mode: 1360 x 768 (32 bit) (60Hz) Monitor: LG W1943(Analog) Driver Name: aticfx32.dll,aticfx32.dll,atiumdag.dll,atidxx32.dll,atiumdva.cap Driver Version: 8.17.0010.1083 (English) DDI Version: 10.1 Compared to mine - which is a mid range 2 year old card: Card name: ATI Radeon HD 5700 Series Manufacturer: ATI Technologies Inc. Chip type: ATI display adapter (0x68B8) DAC type: Internal DAC(400MHz) Device Key: Enum\PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_68B8&SUBSYS_E147174B&REV_00 Display Memory: 3819 MB Dedicated Memory: 1012 MB Shared Memory: 2807 MB Current Mode: 1280 x 1024 (32 bit) (60Hz) Monitor Name: Generic PnP Monitor Monitor Model: SyncMaster Monitor Id: SAM00E5 Native Mode: 1280 x 1024(p) (60.020Hz) Output Type: DVI You exceed the 128MB video memory requested - however the quoted specs are normally near the MINIMUM requirements - so speak to TW about it - because you will probably find that your system cant hack the higher settings. So we are down to - lack of video memory, faulty hardware - it could also be the architecture on the Laptop (Assume it a laptop) slowing things down also ,or its a driver problem. You could also try changing the Graphics card settings via the ATi Catalyst Control Centre - which I assume you should have - such as anti aliasing etc - but not hopeful this will change anything tbh -
Mountains in WOE
MigBuster replied to Milzy's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
If you fly low you will find the land isnt actually that flat at all. The mountain ranges are south on the map so fly down there. If you want to put in an enhanced Germany Terrain then look at Staries seasoned one in the SF1 downloads. -

Help fixing a campaign after JUL update
MigBuster replied to SopmodMikeFour's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mission & Campaign Building Discussion
The patch will update the core system files - and probably some in the mods folder. Ideally make a copy of the entire cuba mod folder and paste it on the desktop. Go to where the system files are ie C:\Program Files (x86)\Thirdwire\SF2\Strike Fighters 2 Get rid of the existing cuba.exe Make a copy of one of the StrikeFighters 2 .exes Then rename the copy to cuba.exe and run it. -

Another one gone - lets hope they develop something to make up for this. -

Save your dxdiag to the desktop as a text file - then post it here as text - particularly the display devices section -

The Aero only works if your system is good enough - but switching the desktop theme to Vista basic should switch it off - if not thats something you can Google easily and find out all about. Did dxdiag report any problems? -
Jul 2011 patch available!
MigBuster replied to SFP1Ace's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Assume it uses them by default now? Can you still force DX9? -
Yes - runs fine for me - but you will probably need to make a few changes - there are already some old threads on here that tell you what to change. Also - not sure if NVIDIA cards run the knee map okay yet - ATI cards did.

MigBuster replied to Mig_eater's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
This is actually one Thirdwire can help you with - unfortunately though its probably system limitations, graphics card memory - or if not something is wrong somewhere with Windows or your hardware. You havent said what OS you are running? - if its 7/Vista turn off the Aero interface. Try start -> run and type in dxdiag and see what the Dx report comes back with - it will also tell you the actual DX version you are currently running. -
Speculation - Next Payware A/C... A-1H/J?
MigBuster replied to malibu43's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
People have asked for those - but he has said any other F-16s will be in games or expansion packs....including ones that just need new skins........thats business folks! He has mentioned going into the 80s era with games - and even a MiG-29 in the future. Got to say though that it would have to go some to beat the MF version!! -
Happy Birthday to you both :drinks:

Yeah - no new pits for DLCs is pretty much what they have stated. Modified pits and modified 3D models - with new skins is what I am expecting -
33rd Fighter Wing Gets First F-35
MigBuster replied to Dave's topic in Military and General Aviation
Yes many factors - cant just go by figures. I remember a time when 20 subsonic pudgy Harriers had to face a force of about 200+ Argentine aircraft with only 2 x AIM-9Ls each! Want to guess how much weight and drag all those Missiles on the Flanker cost it, not to mention the massive RCS!! -

MigBuster replied to a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
No F-14....so not all western Jets then.... Yes you see its the case of the MiG-29A having a technological advantage with the HMS - like the F-16C had the superior Radar and Missiles for BVR and a decent RWR a few years later. The reason they mention the FA-18 is because of its low speed ability - but it wouldn't have mattered as much against a HMS. The simulations also probably didn't take into account the fact that flares were still very effective in this time period. The point I made about the F-16 winning the combat was that there are many factors that define combat situations - even in BVR its not just a 1v1 affair - and you can not make blanket statements based on such. Take for example the 1991 case where the F-15C gets inside the MiG-29As turning circle. Now even if the MiG-29A out turned the F-15C initially, the F-15s wingman is observing the fight from above and will step in. -

MigBuster replied to a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Really - which other Western planes did it fight in these mock combats? Didnt the MiG-29s have a Helmet Mounted sighting system that you have forgot to mention? Unfortunately in actual combat where all factors come into play the F-16 has won every time........ -
Depends on the frequencies being jammed, and type of jamming I would say. Jamming pods used by F-105F/Gs certainly used to interfere with their own systems!

Nato forces help
MigBuster replied to Milzy's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Can you go to where you installed the game to - probably C:\Program Files (x86)\ |Thirdwire \Wings Over Europe and check the game is there. Run it by double clicking on woe.exe in that folder If its there just create a shortcut to the woe.exe to run it from your desktop. then come back -
Does falcon 4 AF install and work okay without the patch? At what point do you see the error exactly? What is the full error message?
