Ahh dont worry - always money for war it seems they will find some somewhere - and probably more as they are taking a UN sanctions trip against Syria now. End of July is still quite a long time - especially for those old airframes! Isnt there loads of other NATO countries willing to step in........

Lucky BUFFs?

change your F-4 USAF loadout.inis to accurate loadouts - you may need to change the data.ini to put single pods in the front sparrow bay. WOV only has the old QRC-160-2 (ALQ-71) from what I remember - that was obsolete in about 1967. There is an ECM Vietnam pack of high quality that has 3 ALQ-71 versions, 4 ALQ-87 versions and a couple of ALQ-101 versions. Even a noise jamming level of about 65 - you get hit but its 20% instead of 90% - at high level with the RHAW scope flashing like mad from all around and a total loss of SA you are dead without support. The MiGs show up you have to get them - but the SAMs dont stop! In SF2V TK has put in extra ECM pods and correct loadouts by default, and also made the SAM performance more survivable. -

Lucky BUFFs?

fly close to the B-52s :) another option for you is to increase the jamming pod power. One Buff crew member counted about 30 SAMs launch in one mission I have read - in LBII they were mostly launched unguided due to jamming and SEAD AFAIK - otherwise if they were like the WOV (SA-2Fs) I dont think they could have flown over it at high level! -
Not easy to explain - which is why I have included a chart and various bits in the USAF skin set. Go into the Tactical reference in the sim - then choose an F-16 model. On the right hand side where the 3D model appears you will see little arrows. You will find on each F-16 model in there you can use the arrows to go through each of the different skins associated with the particular model. These skins are used in a campaign - you should get a different skin for each squadron. You cannot choose which skins to use via the sim interface. However by installing that skin pack you will be replacing the in game ones with vastly superior looking ones. Install all if you can - you can always back out the changes through the skinpack installer. Use the Tactical reference to check the skins have been installed okay.

You can still buy HiTiles from here http://www.hitiles.com/indexF4AF.htm For skins look in the download section here or JANHAS has a website - check old threads on here for the link to his site. Falcon 4.0 (AF etc) is still a great simulation that no other can match for F-16 fans like me. DCS A-10C has fantastic graphics and is also hard core - so maybe one for you to try if you think the graphics matter that much.

MigBuster replied to ddragonrojo's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Which game do you have? Is this shipping missions in Single Missions or a Campaign? A Terrain must have shipping locations defined in the <terrain>_movement.ini file (well it used to need these) -
Converting Oil to Jet Fumes...
MigBuster replied to Slartibartfast's topic in Military and General Aviation
Yes you can understand that - If you have to fly over any IADS in the future - given the choice between a jet where there is a good chance you will be fired at and one you likely wont be fired at, pilots are going to be glad of the F-35 - which should make the job safer and easier for now. -

Yes so is the capability of the F-35 though! Who cares - blame whoever allocated the budget Have the Russians or Chinese quoted this? You could reduce the computing capability. The F-35B is always up for debate - but a supersonic stealth Harrier thats a lot safer to fly cant be bad. At the end of the day its coming into service now so only time will tell how it does in conflicts and sales. -

Well the amount of F-16 operators in 1980 didn't amount to anywhere near the amount there are today over 30 years later Stealth is combat proven and is not hype - the fact that countries are going out of their way to develop such airframes really tells you something. Stealth is such a massive advantage and the US have had years to refine tactics to make the most of it - combine it with Sensors like EODAS its as good as it gets. Its sad to see that jets like the F-16 are finally outclassed in everyway but nothing lasts forever.........thats progress! -

Think it will be retired by the time we get round to doing anything about it The US experience of using Stealth since 1983 heralds tactics and capability we can only dream of - which is why we are getting the F-35, and the PAK-FA and J-20 are being developed. The US have had the money and luxury to develop cutting edge systems and fair play to them - any war they have to fly into will be totally one sided against Air and and modern IADS threats - or it can sit at home like the F-106 did for all those years - dont suppose they care because the F-35 will probably be selling like hot cakes for the next 30 years off the back of the 22 just like its predecessor the F-16 did. -

I suppose they are not far off each other in certain areas of airframe agility - in AF the Typhoon seems to be a similar flight model but with one advantage that makes it better in the guns only fight - which anyway is down to the pilot - so you must have been good. Shame that's the only area the Typhoon can compete with the F-22 in. -

Its ability to pull up when it looks like its out of energy is very impressive - just watching that gives me nightmares from when I used to dogfight it in Allied Force! -

Nah - haven't installed the latest patches yet - hoping to get round to it eventually! -
No you cant choose skins from inside the sim that I am aware of. you can install add on skins into the sim using either the skin pack installer or LODEditor (More difficult) - these will replace existing skins. This is done at your own risk - the sim was never meant to be modified.

Questions
MigBuster replied to JaguarXK's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
In SF1 there is no in game mission editor - so you need to use Notepad. You should have some mission (.msn) files in the missions folder (e.g. C:\GAMES\WOV\Missions) Copy one, open it in notepad and see what you can do. There were some 3rd party mission editors in the download section also that you could try.
