  1. Looking for a good helo sim

Isnt that DCS Blackshark thing supposed to be amazing - might be hardcore but you can probably tone it down a bit.
  2. Happy Birthday Mannie!

Hope you are having a great day :drinks:
  3. [Frontline] Thats where the Frontline starts on the map - represented by a red line usually. I think startshow and endshow just define the visible points from the front line coords [Routes] single missions (and campaigns) use these coordinates to place moving trucks and ships - you can just define your own points - you can add shipping routes also i.e. [Route008] RouteType=SHIPPING StartArea=Mosak <----name from _targets EndArea=Al'Duhok <----name from _targets RoutePosition[001]=472000,486000 RoutePosition[002]=472000,498000 RoutePosition[003]=446000,538000 RoutePosition[004]=422000,552000 To work out the coords - ideally a mission editor is the best thing
  4. Wish Her Luck

I wish her all the best - hope she makes it
  5. Some nice bits in there
  6. Don't tell me - you shot it down with an AIM-9B
  7. Welcome JDUK - hope you have an enjoyable stay
  8. Andy Bush comparing the TF-104G with the F-104G: The TF carried less internal fuel. We used it in the weapons school for introductory rides...where we verified the student's basic flying skills before turning him loose to fly the single seat model. For example, when starting the air-to-air phase, we wanted to expose the student to both high speed and slow speed flight. The plan was to enter a 30 degree dive from about 20000' and accelerate to as fast as the jet would go...we would level off at about 5000' and then point the jet straight up and let it run out of speed. It wasn't unusual to have the students be apprehensive about flying at high speed and they were particularly wary of very slow speeds (too many accidents in Germany). In the dive, we could get the TF out to about 750KIAS...the TF had more drag than the single seat version because of the canopy. I'd sit in the back and "help" the student stay in the dive until the jet quit accelerating...and then I'd "help" him pull it straight up. I'd make sure he kept the stick neutral until we simply ran out of airspeed...the jet would then flop over and start back downhill. I'd guard the controls again to make sure the guy up front had it under control. All of this was usually accompanied by some heavy breathing from up front!! I used to call this the "Oh ye of little faith" sortie. Other than no gun and a shorter endurance, the TF was quite similar in performance to the F model.
  9. some info here http://www.joebaugher.com/usaf_fighters/f104_15.html
  10. Happy Birthday Elephant!

    Have a great day
  11. Fighter Performance: F-4 vs MiG-21

You probably mean an EM chart
  12. Well if you want to know ask at f-16.net - a few ex 16 pilots on there. The nearest we have is Falcon 4 which has about 20 years of hardcore input. You get no rudder authority over 300kts in that - and at low level, low speed even with rudder and a clean F-16D the nose drops too much despite full rudder. in SF2I (Dont have WOI anymore) - clean F-16A - here you get to use rudder way over 300kts - but regardless of <200kts or >300kts speeds the nose still drops too much despite full rudder like the Falcon FM. Unlike the Falcon FM - The SF2 FM requires no elevon movement to keep the jet on the same heading. Unfortunatley the only application for such a pointless sustained manouver would be at an airshow - or if you had to fly down a very narrow star wars trench
  13. Yeah you need to attack it from every angle, just dont fly behind it for more than a second. This is where things like TrackIR are handy. In the F-100D Vs IL-28 scenario I expect maybe 1 or 2 of my AIM-9Bs to go near the target - then get in there for guns - slashing attacks from angles mainly.
  14. Download speed

One other thing - try downloading files at different times during the day to see if you get any times that are faster - congestion is quite common with some Broadband services. I expect my cheap / naff service to slow down again this winter as more people go online between 07:00 and 10:00.
  15. You probably want to speak to your provider really - whats actually happening - as in details??
  16. Honorable Discharge

Congrats Nesher - best of luck on your new path
  17. That is interesting - havent checked that myself. The total (all programs) physical RAM usage sits around 3.2GB running SF2I in game when I check it.
  18. Yes its worth checking this - also check if your PSU is rated at enough Watts to run the card. I have tried running lower Wattage PSUs years back but over time they eventually start to creak and cause black screens.
  19. Looks like a good site - they have some other IAF jets on there as well
  20. Surprised you can run anything on unlimited with that setup - and when you go on a campaign in SF2E with a lot of objects or add a third party terrain you will really slow down. The GeForce 210 is probably the main issue here - its low end and wont cut it for SF2 - I did have a GT220 for about a week and it was poor even on medium settings. You will need to change the graphics setting until you get reasonable fps for now. More RAM might be a good idea if you are running the 64bit version of Win 7 - I have 6GB RAM with an ATi HD5770 and Intel i7 - thats not enough to max out the settings with a lot of objects up at the same time.
  21. What is happening when the game crashes - do you get any error messages? next - what version of the HD4800 do you have? what version of the ATi drivers are you running? - have you tried different drivers? What settings do you have the graphics on in Game? - try reducing the graphics a bit - particularly shadows What patch version of SF2E are you running?
  22. Imigrants will stop at nothing to get where they are going
  23. The problem is either with Windows or your hardware - What are your system specs?
