  1. The joke's on marketing

  2. Flight models are probably the hardest aspects of modding - which is why there are very few who actually understand the variables involved and create them. These select few probably have a background in physics/aerospace engineering (Like TK) and the advanced math involved. Yes you can change the variables involved and go through a trial and error process - but this is very difficult and painfully time consuming especially when you see the amount of variables and dont understand how they link together - and the results can send you in all different directions!!. Avionics, engines, and weapons parameters - again involves changes in ini files and creation of image files like tga/jpegs (Photoshop/GIMP). Like the flight model due to the amount of variables involved it is not always easy to get what you want even after a lot of trial and error. Computer programming - this is only relevant if you are creating an external program like the weapons editor or the old mission editor - luckily you do not need any programming skills to alter the actual games - i.e. change .ini files or create 3D models or 2D skins. Decals and Skinning - start by altering existing skin files in Photoshop or the free GIMP program and learn from there.
  3. From a Thirdwire perspective SF1 has reached the end of the line in terms of development yes - for everyone else its down to personal opinion and hardware - although I would hope that when you upgrade systems you get SF2 to at least show some support if you can. And Suicidal there are a lot of new things in SF2 - that's not a belief but fact (I have put a thread up about it)
  4. Yep Id go with that and a pit for some of the Vampires - got to be something else though - I'm hoping for a surprise - a new C-47 pit
  5. Can't keep off this website

Please tell me this isn't for real? Should the whole world get to know Airliner routes? What was that quote about human stupidity being infinite
  6. Right need to speculate something......it could be gameplay related... Maybe the Mission editor will work properly with Exp2 anyway as a bonus: 1. New F-104s with pits in Exp2 2. Other Russian targets (sorry bombers) - Su-17?? , Tu-95 3. A wider ground target selection on the dynamic missions 4. Ability to select weapons for whole flight.
  7. TK has said no to USAF viper skins on his forums - so you are stuck with mine I'm afraid.
  8. The aliens have found a way to disable ICBMs? Next time the spinning object appears check to see if it has 'Greenpeace' written on the side of it - then shoot it down
  9. Had no idea - well done that man - very interesting subject. Mind you - just to reassure you computer software can be just as buggy even today! Still the US had similar problems with the WOPR didnt they
  10. The B-57A is pretty much a Canberra B-2 copy - dont think it went to production and not so sure on the bombing method - which is why it got the nice Canberra Kesselbrut pit. http://www.joebaugher.com/usaf_bombers/b57_1.html
  11. Yes the night light effects and tracer glow are a massive improvement in SF2
  12. What skin have you downloaded? (link) What model are you using it with? (link) Where have you placed the skins folder - it just needs to go in the Objects\Aircraft\F-14x folder for example - ensure you have placed it in the correct location for SF2 - if not sure read section 1 here: http://combatace.com/topic/44026-converting-older-planes-to-work-in-sf2-a-basic-guide-by-migbuster/
  13. Would need to ask the guys who made the actual models - one may have been Veltro
  14. You can switch the mirrors off in the game options if they are causing you Frame rate issues. Other than that they are part of the cockpit LOD.
  15. Happy Birthday COCAS!

Another one - Happy birthday Mr Cocas
  16. Happy Birthday X Ray

    Happy Birthday XRay
  17. thought that must be possible!
  18. Are they gearing up for a civil war ? Have you done the Buckinghamshire AF yet ?
  19. They defo use Mavericks in SF2 - order them to engage about 5 miles out.
  20. From what I remember - certainly on the F-4 you needed a laser pod for the primary also to get the IR view and for it to guide properly - would need to check
  21. Never again...

crikey I Didnt realise how wrong it could go. Had a Wisdom tooth out around 5 years back that was sticking into the side of my mouth. One injection, a pair of pliars and a cracking noise and it was out.
