How comes its only the Telegraph printing this stuff - I mean call me mr suspicious or what!! What poor capability are they offerering exactly? - last time I looked the F-22A was the only comparible jet to the F-35 and Im pretty sure thats not for sale. If someone can point me in the direction of the other stealth jet with such advanced avionics I'd be pleased to see it. Anything other than the F-35B or F-35C at this point in time is a waste of money.

ordways MIG-23MF cockpit not working
MigBuster replied to Gunnar88's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Can be positioned in the _cockpit.ini [CockpitSeat001] ModelName=Cockpit_MiG-21bis Offset=0.0,0.0,0.0 Position=0.0,3.7,0.68 ViewAngles=0.0,0.0,0.0 ............. For the 3D model not showing go into the aircrafts mig-23xx_data.ini and find this lines for each relevant section i.e. [LeftWing] ParentComponentName=Fuselage ModelNodeName=LWing ShowFromCockpit=TRUE <------------the line you are looking for -
funny to see it parked next to all those civi Cessna things
-
No - it would need to go in the aircrafts main .ini file i.e BristolM1C.ini . If you look at the .ini files for the other aircraft you will see where the texture set lines go

Jan Tuma Flashing Buildings ?
MigBuster replied to Panama Red's topic in Thirdwire - First Eagles 1&2
Those data_inis do seem to sort out the flashing courtyards - thanks for that Jan If you use the Panama you will need to change the shader names for FE2 EffectShaderName=terTerrainEffect.fx etc -

Get the same thing on My Win 7 64 FE2 install - needs some experimenting with the data.ini I would think. I also remember the very same thing was happening when Green Hell was released with those type of buildings and Stary posted a tod fix (I think) Im on an ATi card actually for DX9 - Look in options.ini [GraphicsOptions] DisplayDeviceID=0 DisplayWidth=1280 DisplayHeight=1024 DisplayDepth=32 AspectRatio=1.250000 AntiAliasing=4 UseAdvancedShaders=1 <-----------may have to set this to 0 ForceDX9=FALSE <---------- change ForceVSyncOff=FALSE LensFlare=0 DetailLevel=4 ObjectDetail=2 ObjectTexture=3 CockpitTexture=3 CockpitMirrors=1 CockpitReflection=1 EffectsDetail=3 TerrainDetail=2 TerrainTexture=2 HorizonDistance=2 GroundObjectDensity=2 WaterDetail=2 CloudsDetail=2 Shadow=1 -

There should be a readME - The wav files probably just need to be put into the "Speech" folder -
SF2 expansion 2 teaser and mission editor teaser
MigBuster replied to DanW's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
I suppose that should have been "new major game feature" - The other new features we had were the the ability to look at medals awarded, and save missions - both relatively minor. Most changes have been (much needed) improvements on existing features (3D models/graphics/AI/Avionics): anyway if you look herehttp://combatace.com/topic/56091-whats-new-in-the-sf2-series/page__pid__432037?do=findComment&comment=432037 This mission editor could be a massive step in the right direction and totally changes the way anyone can now play the games. It could also be a feature that will bring others to the SF2 world. -
A concept I've been experimenting with
MigBuster replied to Fubar512's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
Use of certain colours around panels and rivets creates an illusion similar to bump mapping - have been using it skins for a few years - something obvserved from 2D artwork - although in mycase I create it with the skin manually - are you using some script or effect? -
Problem with a mod-F-15 SG
MigBuster replied to Pilot94's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Sounds like pilot needs to be repositioned. see no6 on here - should be the same thing http://combatace.com/topic/44033-putting-pilots-and-ejection-seats-in-sf2-by-migbuster/ -
Weapons Pack Doesn't Work with SFP1!
MigBuster replied to iranianace's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
What do you mean by that? Ever since SF was released in 2002 you could fire off an AIM-7 from an F-4 from BVR - so a campaign with an F-14/MiG-23/F-4/MiG-25 - you would think so. -

No problems here with a 3 or 4 pro - A TiR 5 is on my list. Once you get used to it you will never fly without it.

Remove the red planes from the in flight Map
MigBuster posted a file in Planning Maps/Icons/Base Mods
Version
161 downloads
Game not challenging enough? - why not stop red planes appearing on the map! Just download and copy MAPENEMYICON.tga to your "Flight folder" ie "C:\......\WingsOverVietnam\Flight" If you feel like you are getting shot down to much afterwards - just delete MAPENEMYICON.tga again and all will revert to normal....easy hey tested in WOI / WOV but should work in SF/WOV/WOE/WOI/FE Note about SF2: This will work in the strike Fighters 2 series - however TK kindly included these options in the HUDDATA.ini file (which you would need to extract from the flightdata.cat file) from June 2009 which can just be set to true or false as you need - so you can acheive the same thing from here: [HUDLabels] EnableLabels=FALSE LabelFriendlyAir=TRUE LabelFriendlyGround=TRUE LabelEnemyAir=TRUE LabelEnemyGround=TRUE [MapLabels] EnableLabels=FALSE LabelFriendlyAir=TRUE LabelFriendlyGround=TRUE LabelEnemyAir=TRUE LabelEnemyGround=TRUE MiGBuster 2009 -

from http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-11052023 Iran has unveiled what it says is its first domestically built unmanned - or drone - bomber. President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said the plane could serve as a "messenger of death", but that its key message was one of friendship. Iranian state TV later showed the "Karrar" aircraft in flight. It said it had a range of 1,000km (620 miles) and could carry two 250-pound (115kg) bombs, or a precision bomb of 500 pounds. The plane is the latest in a series of new pieces of military hardware unveiled by Iran. "This jet is a messenger of honour and human generosity and a saviour of mankind, before being a messenger of death for enemies of mankind," President Ahmadinejad said after unveiling the Karrar at a ceremony with defence officials. "The key message is friendship," he added. "We must make efforts to render all the enemy's weapons useless with our defence potential." The unveiling came amid continuing concerns over Iran's nuclear programme. Western states suspect Iran is trying to obtain a nuclear bomb, though Iran says its programme is designed to boost domestic power supplies. On Saturday, Iran began loading fuel rods at the Bushehr nuclear power station built and operated by Russia. The US said it saw no "proliferation risk" from the plant, though Israel condemned the move.

Weapons Pack Doesn't Work with SFP1!
MigBuster replied to iranianace's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Yeah - basically .ini files are the text files you have been editing in Notepad. You have even shown a screen shot of the line you need to change. Yes dat file and ini files are totally different - you shouldnt be trying to edit .dat files at all. -

1 . check the data.ini of another jet that has a pilot and change the PilotModelName= to use that specified pilot -
Weapons Pack Doesn't Work with SFP1!
MigBuster replied to iranianace's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
1. Not seen that before - does it say which version of Strike Fighters that Mig was tested in? 2. Only 3rd Wire can change that - we have been asking for a button that gives the whole flight the same weapons and skins - until then they have to be configured separately. -
Fabulous pics - thanks for putting them up
