  1. The stock Mystere IVA and F-16A have gun counters - so it probably is possible - thats probably the place to start.
  2. Point someone to the answer and they come back with that - sorry do you need some help reading number 30? or perhaps 31 - both changes brought in with later SF2 patches.
  3. #30 on herehttp://combatace.com/topic/44026-converting-older-planes-to-work-in-sf2-a-basic-guide-by-migbuster/
  4. Performance Question

A few things you could try: Disable the Aero interface first if you have Win 7 - switch to a basic theme In the ATi control Centre set AA and AF to use the application settings if not already. In the games options set shadows low but try and raise the other settings apart from terrain distance. in the mod folder in saved games open up options.ini in notepad and change this: [GraphicsOptions] UseAdvancedShaders=1 <<<-------set to 1 this should force the game to use DX10 so should be faster if it wasn't using it already. If you are using any add ons like a new terrain that will slow you down so you will need to set your balance. That mobile graphics card is listed as a mid low level entry card - and the graphics card really does make a massive difference - with a high level card you might be able to max things out. As an example I use a PC (i7, 6GB RAM, ATi 5770) so a more powerful system and superior card - and I haven't been able to set everything full with mods in place. If the series gets more tuned for multicore system in the future performance may actually improve - never know.
  5. Some of these might be applicable: http://combatace.com/topic/44026-converting-older-planes-to-work-in-sf2-a-basic-guide-by-migbuster/
  6. Depends - a lot had changed by Oct2008 - so if anythings not right it needs to be changed in the campaign - so its easier to run the correct version. The way this should be done is having multiple installs - I still have a few 2006 versions of WOV.
  7. First Eagles had a unjam command - not sure if that's actually in SF1 though - might be worth looking. If not shorten your guns even more - any try changing gun groups if your jet allows also.
  8. Afraid it doesnt work like that - you should be working at the file level - only put in files you have modded ini/bmp/jpg etc. If you have just copied folders in and overwritten actual Game files (dll/cat) with old ones its finished - you need to reinstall. Suggest you save the folders with the mods in it somewhere. Once reinstalled carefully move back in modded files only - 1 at a time if possible and test regularly because you may still get problems doing this - basically - in the new version of the game the ini files will have been changed by 3rdWire from previous versions - sometimes you need to extract the new ini file and make changes to that to get it working properly.
  9. I use sounds and speech wavs from series 1 so any SF1 sounds should work if they are put in the right folder.
  10. Chinese fighter jets train over Tibet

Ace pics - thanks for putting them up
  11. You probably cant - but you could ask him if he could convert a pit over for the SF series - he might be willing.

Unfortunately you don't quite understand what I'm getting at - although as it says you are Swedish I guess I can let that pass this time. 1. Fact the winners decide what is a war crime and what is to be determined as such - things like the bombing of Dresden are not seen by us here as a war crime officially but an essential part of the war - was anyone ever tried for that - no they were heroes. Same goes for OIF - can you ever see G.Bush or T Blair ever getting charged with war crimes? I certainly cant even though many people might determine their actions to be so (they were not heroes btw). 2. The whole concept of determining something to be a war crime in a real war is to me laughable - when the **** hits the fan ANYTHING is possible as proved in WW2 - no side in WW2 fought totally to the rules - in fact you could even commend Nazi Germany for the way some officer POWs were treated even after trying to Escape multiple times. Anyway the point being that WW2 should be shown as an example of how terrible war is and that ANYTHING goes regardless in reality. And conveniently the only war crimes acknowledged here were committed by the losers (the Axis powers). I personally see WW2 as just one big disaster - and everything in it was a legitimate part of war on all fronts - Real war is a disaster and I'm really not sure at which point somebody thought that it was this nice fluffy thing that could be totally controlled. In any major future war (which we can prey we are not part of) the rules again will be looked at and ignored or new ones made up to suit whoever.

I realise people now have had a lot of time to analyse and pick apart WW2 as much as they can. However....World War 2 was actually a real war with a lot at stake in every country - and in a real war people will do whatever they feel is right at the time to destroy the enemy - its that simple. If we ever found ourselves in another large scale conflict then anything termed as a war crime now will be used if its a matter of survival - that probably includes nuclear weapons!. Forget war crimes - in a real war no one gives a **** - now in a war against Serbia for example where we are not threatened - we can decide who in the country should be tried for war crimes - good huh. The winners determine what war crimes are - maybe if someone else wins next time they will make up a whole set of new rules to suit them.
  14. Right so it plays the sounds okay but some of them are at a different volume? Assuming it didnt like the Aero interface - it should have just changed to the Win 7 Basic theme - thats what I use but it didnt affect any sound levels. Check the volume levels in Windows and on the sound software for the sound chipset if you have any - also check the sound level sliders in the SF2 options. If you select the Aero theme you used to use (right click on the desktop, go to Personalize and change the theme to something else) are the issues still there? I think the sounds are related to the themes but need to check - not something I givea a toss about myself.
  15. note SF2 has already been changed so some SF2 jets will be out of date already without being updated by the authors. (for example see #31 from Feb 2010)
  16. Hey nice work You mention that the stock F-16A lacks a TWS mode - not so straight forward this - it only came in from Block 15 according to: http://www.f-16.net/f-16_versions_article3.html So for the time period TK is probably correct. Some Block 1/5/10s may have had the early APG-66 upgraded or replaced in the mid to late 80s The F-16C has the unfortunate distinction of being around since 3D flight sims came about in the 1980s - and thus has been done to death so can understand why there may not be many takers. Ever thought of contacting this guy - he might give you payware - but it would be flippin good payware. http://www.cockpits.nl/
  17. The UK Military to face large cuts...

The RAF always get their way dont you know Anyway we should end up with F-35s so it shouldnt matter
  18. The UK Military to face large cuts...

Us getting F/A-18s will never happen (I very much hope) - and would the F/A-18 really be off the shelf? - can you not see a situation where jobs are created to stick our own engines/avionics?
  19. The UK Military to face large cuts...

Yeah its probably just political leverage - and would have passed less unoticed if we hadnt spent so much on wars this past decade. The point is if anyone decides to launch missiles this way - they get a load back thus assuring mutually assured destruction - a lot better than them getting away scot free - no guarantee anyone else would take out said enemy - whoever that is - could be anyone in the future who knows. Certainly if I wanted to get rid of a country using Nukes it would be a lot easier if nothing was likely to come back this way wouldn't it. In the future maybe a laser based defense system could render missiles useless - but until that day the Nuclear Genie isnt going back into its bottle.
  20. Problems With CA

    Is it the pet cat?
  21. Bad knee-board map

I didnt find away to fix it at the time - but as I needed a new card went the ATi route - but thats not to say there isnt a fix for it.
  22. The UK Military to face large cuts...

    - plenty of this going around at the moment - even seen a few articles that suggest getting the FA-18E/F - pretty sure even a navalised Typhoon will be ahead of this if they went for the 2nd rate pants option. The UK is no longer in recesion, the banks have all announced massive profits, and the only reason David Cameron keeps telling us we are in dire strights is so he can blame Labour for the state of things (its called spin). There may be a few cuts - but I expect to see the F-35s for definate. As for numbers - in 1914 you needed about 50 planes to take out a few targets - currently you need 1 with a few PGMs. Back then you also had to counter the attrition rate of those old box kites. On the air attack side they need to be able to deal with any other AF in range and deal with the Falklands. Admittedly a massed swarm of Al quaeda Airliners might reveal some shortcomings!
