Weapon Editor (v. 02208)
MigBuster replied to chiller1064's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Not seen that one - so could be a Windows problem. What version of the editor do you have, does the issue occur with other versions? -

MigBuster replied to DarthRevan's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
It possible no doubt - but would take a very long time to do it right. -
Well its not - but plenty of people have put it over AF - still there might be a fix for this - try the red viper forums i guess

Indian Navy demo team Kiran crashes
MigBuster replied to ghostrider883's topic in Military and General Aviation
Sorry to hear the news GR Also heard 3 South Korean pilots had died (yesterday?) when their F-5s hit mountains in bad weather. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/asia-pacific/8544757.stm South Korea F-5 fighter jet crash kills three pilots Officials said poor weather could have let to the crash Three South Korean fighter pilots have died after their jets crashed into a mountain during a training mission, defence officials in Seoul have said. The F-5 jets were believed to have hit Mount Hwangbyeong, near Gangneung, about 237km (147 miles) east of Seoul, said the Yonhap news agency. Rescue teams found debris, clothing and body parts on the mountain. The cause of the incident is not yet known, but officials said poor visibility could have been to blame. The jets disappeared from radar shortly after taking off from an airbase in Gangneung. A search and rescue operation was launched but an official later said all three pilots had died. "There is a high possibility that the aircraft crashed due to bad visibility from the foggy weather. We will further investigate the causes," an Air Force spokesman earlier told Yonhap. One witness had reported "a thundering noise and acrid smoke near the mountain's summit". Yoon Heung-joon said he had seen what he believed to be the wreckage of the planes on the mountainside. Yonhap said, if confirmed, the crash would be the seventh involving South Korea's ageing F5 fleet since 2000. -
Excuse me...dumb question really ... but
MigBuster replied to PadFoot's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Who knows - depends on people wanting actually to do it though. This series was mainly about modding your own installs - which kept most people too busy to actually play them - even if you just play them theres a lot there -
F-4E and F-4J radar, gunsight, and cockpit problem.
MigBuster replied to KJakker's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Well if you have no mods installed its likely the install is the problem - but I dont know the correct order to install them in. Thirdwire is probably the best place to go to to report it - if thats happening with the latest patch. -
People often paint them in Photoshop or GIMP (which is free) They need to stay as you have extracted them - as .bmp (24 bit probably), with the exact names - but you can rescale them or paint them. - there may be some tutorials about

Yeah - but thank the lucky stars TK didnt bother to implement the real firing procedure for the AIM-4 Falcon!!

HELP, HELP, Revisited.
MigBuster replied to a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
1.Right - so you copied the WOE game folder from the Tiny notebook including all subfolders. You say the version you have copied over doesnt actually work on the Tiny - because you think Win XP on the Tiny notebook has a few corrupt/missing system files? 2. Forget the add on jets for now - Does the game CTD when you select a stock Jet in any state? 3. Do you get any messages at all? - so you think you have the correct version of DX9? -

There have been similar threads here and at 3rd wire about a similar issue - it may be to do with the order the games were installed in / or patched in even -

MigBuster replied to a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
So can you clarify...the install of WOE you are copying over from the other laptop works fine on the tiny laptop yes? And you have copied the entire WOE game folder over? Are you getting any error messages after the CTD? anything about a missing .dll file? assume you have the correct version of Direct X 9? Does the game run ok using the in game stock jets? -
Falcon 4 - has a different sound when in the transonic region - but pretty sure there are no graphical effects if thats what you are after
-
typical
-
You need to lower the gear using Shift-Ctrl-Alt-G You should have a key map with all these bits in - and yes its in the manual where its descibed how to perform the training mission

A sad sight - but quite a lot more there than what they have found http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/8530165.stm

New member - Intruder questions
MigBuster replied to Kraszus's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Yeah I had that too - amazing at the time. With SF2 you have a turned about situation - the graphics unlike FOTI are amazing, but the avionics are pretty simple - no mil settings or DIANE in this. You switch on the radar, and can toggle through ground map or ground avoidance or change the range of the radar. Its the same keys for all the jets. There is no DIANE in the game - the reason Thirdwire left a flyable A-6 out of SF2V (There was a pit in WOV) was because he didnt want it in without a DIANE - but no budget to implement it yet. Bombing was manual in the stock WOV jet - in the one you have they might have stuck in a CCIP mod to let you level bomb - if not there is one for SF2 in the downloads -
The kneemap is distorted in Windows 7 - even after the other fixes. No cure I know about yet - apart from downgrading. If you dont have Win 7 - then make sure you are on the latest patch

Yep I'm pretty sure the Falklands is too far out I'm afraid. If bringing History into it - The British have sovereignty claims since 1690 - which was never renounced (apparently) a bit before Argentina even existed. The French, US and Spain have all been in control at some point The history though is now irrelevant. Like Gibraltar the Island is now populated with people who want to stay British - so its too late - they wont be removed and there is nothing Argentina can do about it, legally or not. 1982 screwed Argentina's chances of getting it back for the foreseeable future. The apparent ranting by Hugo Chavez is just making things worse for Argentina!

New GTS250 giving me trouble in WOV
MigBuster replied to Bossco82's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Have you tried the enbseries mod? Did you try any other drivers? A dual core CPU etc wont help you much with WOV - was never programmed to use multicore properly. I'm hoping SF2V may in the future have blistering multicore CPU performance - well one can hope! -
That about says it all - despite the history behind it all the conflict is still very much in the minds of all - The Falklands will never be given away now.

Mr C5 - glad to see you're still around!
