Trees
MigBuster replied to swambast's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
you would place the image in image tags - but you should only be posting jpgs up here because they are a lot smaller than bmps (which take much longer to download) - its pretty easy to convert - just save it as a jpg (jpeg) next time. As for that issue - which ive never seen myself - have you tried to open and alter any of the files in your terrains folder with a program like photoshop? Have you had probalems with add on trees before. In Terrains - if you find the tree files - what resolution are they? what game do you have - and what patch? -

about 53 A-4s lost in 1973 - 25 over Syria according to Ospreys Israeli A-4s in combat That is by far the hardest campaign - but wouldnt be much fun if it was all as easy as 1982 Advice is - your wingmen are pants in many ways - I take as few as possible with me - and run recons alone! -

shadows and effects can be big FR killers - try lower settings with them also if it still and issue - if you have a series 1 game then the enb series mod is pretty good. -

Nice one! Was wondering what you were asking - he could have flown an A-4 in 82 (and 2006 for that matter ) - most likely an A-4N - which Ive just realised isnt in the game by default! -
Noob Mod Q
MigBuster replied to elephant's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
My advice is play the games for a bit first and get used to them. The modding is normally drag and drop and manual editing of ini files in Notepad in a lot of cases which is easy (90% of mods) but time consuming and will take some getting used to. As for all in one mods - there are some out there - but you have to have the correct game and patch version for them to work correctly without further modding by yourself. Some maybe updated for SF2 like Operation Desert Storm - but the ammount of work involved is immense. SF2 is fairly recent - everything for SF2 is in the SF2 downloads section. You can make older things work - theres as an SF2 section in the knowledge base. If you add a mod do it carefully 1 by 1 otherwise you will just have to start again - the sim is really stable if you do it correctly. for modding you need to get the hang of extracting file from .cats and using the correct weapons and guns editors for your game. Be aware that most mods - particullarly Jets - which are easy to add - still need correct weapons loadouts or the correct sound files or associations - again there are articles in the SF2 KB to help If you are into this sort of thing then you will have years of fun - happy hunting -
Interesting find - interesting comments on the site too :)

There is no Falcon 5 - although Lead Pursuit are still working on the next sim whatever that will be called. For Falcon 4: Allied Force there are no official mods - but Free Falcon 4 (Redviper) and FreeFalcon 5 do work over it. In my exp dont expect a hassle free experience though and FF5 is not too stable at the mo. Im back with good old F4:AF - beside JDAMs make it too easy lol for install you need to find the instructions on their forums

Whats wrong with my F-4E Kurnass?
MigBuster replied to RichardG's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Suggest telling 3rdWire about the problem so it can be fixed. As for fixing it yourself - well cant help you to much there - depends how much modding you do. One work around (which I cant test) may be to use the F-4E avionics file. make a backup of the F-4E_kurnass_xx.ini file you want to change - then change: [AircraftData] AircraftFullName=F-4E Kurnass (75) AircraftShortName=Kurnass AircraftDataFile=F-4E_Kurnass_75_data.INI LoadoutFile=F-4E_Kurnass_75_loadout.INI UserList=F-4E_Kurnass_75_UserList.INI CockpitDataFile=F-4E_Kurnass_75_cockpit.INI LoadoutImage=F-4E_Kurnass_73_loadout.TGA HangarScreen=F-4E_Kurnass_75_hangar.JPG LoadingScreen=F-4E_Kurnass_75_Loading.JPG AvionicsDLL=Avionics60.DLL AvionicsDataFilename=F-4E_72_avionics.INI <-------for example If it doesnt work just set it back. -
Haha - Had no idea there was a next Karate Kid film !!

Whats wrong with my F-4E Kurnass?
MigBuster replied to RichardG's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Is this the combo pack - or did you merge the games separately - if so what order? -
Well wouldnt say I was an avid gamer - Last game I bought from a shop (PC world) - well that was Strike Fighters Project 1 back in 2002 - has all been online since then. I remember spending ages as a kid looking at games that I couldnt afford in shops - not that nostalgic really - its miles better getting them off the web IMO. We dont get printed manuals nowadays - which is fine so long as the extra money is put into the game - but hey at least the graphics are better.

If unlimited ammo is not checked then thats all you need to do. What part of the game are you playing? are you doing training missions(these have set weaponry), dogfights (you can choose in the startup screen), Instant action (Always has unlimited weapons) - or campaign (erm practise a bit first)

When I first saw Iron Eagle I was too young to notice or understand most of the mistakes which is one reason why I probably enjoyed it - that is it convinced me that that sort of thing could happen in real life which is what fires imagination in youngsters. With Iron Eagle 2 - apart from the opening scene and being a bit older I thought it was pretty lame - every boy knew what a MiG-29 looked like, the actors were pathetic - and the tom cruise wanna be couldnt even make it with that Russian bird!! So to answer your question - it pretty clear that if I notice too many things blatently wrong in a film that's supposed to present a serious realism then of course that spoils things - and can destroy the illusion you are supposed to be in at the cinema.

Ahh it seems that I think like Hitler - whatever next

haha I really don't need something that small and limited - has no use to me what so ever home or at work - Already have things of similar size, with built in keyboards that run any real OS and do anything for testing. Bad enough cleaning fingerprints off non touchscreens - and tbh a mouse pointer is a damn sight more accurate than my clumsy fingers will ever be

A lot of the jets have been converted to SF2 by many people already -not sure how many are left - they are in the SF2 download section. To convert one over there are a few guides in the SF2 knowledgebase as link above -

The Russians could make a lot of money from this - selling to other countries - so I dont see funding being an issue - and I know the SU-35 is based on a tried and tested airframe - but I cant see any way the Russian AF wont get as many of these babies as they can - and then use the SU-35s for target practise. Didn't think I would ever see it - but its a great looking bird - and surprised to see its video on the BBC first this morning.
