MigBuster replied to extra1's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
No you cant merge things back into the cat files really - they just need to go in the right folder - see if this is any help: http://forum.combatace.com/topic/44025-converting-ground-objects-for-use-in-sf2-by-migbuster/ -

Bug in NF4?
MigBuster replied to xclusiv8's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Not sure where the game works that out from tbh - probably internal - but may take a value from the data.ini possibly - unless someone knows may be one for 3rdwire Also depends on what type of speed its being represented as and the altitude at the wp - would probably be either IAS or TAS at a guess. -
F-12 key Action view and other items of interest
MigBuster replied to Dogzero1's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Diego - a few good points there - although in regards to TK going on forums, that kinda stopped after the mauling he received at simhq - and I defo wouldnt say it was all constructive critisism either. Dogzero - I dont see any particularly negative comments - are they negative because they dont conform to your opinions? Ask all the questions you like - but no point moaning about his response if you word your questions like this: quote 1 " its a request as to why you didnt implement something that obviously worked during beta stages or you would not have put it in the instruction manual and key card" Here you are implying something that "obviously" was there when in fact it may never have been - either way you dont know. Quote 2 "Can you tell me (us) why the F12 action view was never implemented?" Demanding things like that wont work with him - you cant just call his line manager. Its probably bottom of the queue now! TKs a sensitive soul - and stubborn. -

F-12 key Action view and other items of interest
MigBuster replied to Dogzero1's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
This feature might never have been in the game - when the game was ready to be published a list of key codes he hoped he could get in the game was sent probably at some deadline that included that and other things - for example the braking chute key - but there are no 3D chute models even in the game. If it was taken out during a beta version then it was causing problems with other things that couldn't be fixed at the time - and was left as non essential. Looking back at SFP1 - and the many things wrong with it - I'm pretty glad the main things have been dealt with, stability, AI, bouncing planes , etc etc.... At the moment I would hope his priorities are bug fixes in the engine, and producing a new game, which is the only chance of new features, and getting good non stutter performance out of multi core CPUs which have now been around years. TK really needs to hire a team of programmers to help him - but this could bring in other problems - not least having to pay them all - and could still take years to see any progress. If I was him I would reduce non essential patches to one every 2 years or during a new game release, and waste less time answering the same question over again on the forums! Anyone expecting some kind professional customer service from a programmer is dreaming - of course you can always buy something else - theres plenty to choose from Maybe you can all get Ace Combat 6 and talk to their call centre in India about implementing realistic flight models. -
Work on the dance moves and they could win X Factor no probs

Home key not working
MigBuster replied to Veltro2k's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Is that with any jet? - what radar? try remapping the key or testing your home key. -
Set the campaign settings at sensible settings - you still need barcaps - but would advise you set them up for other flights. Setting up flights - well should be in the manual somewhere.
-
You need to manage the campaign yourself really to avaoid that - in my case only do barcaps if there is a lot of enemy air - otherwise set up other flights of F-15s/22s (depending on the year you play) to do barcaps. Cancel any barcaps missions you get and set up BAI and CAS missions for you and any other available strikers in the theatre - you need to take out the tank columns etc and help your ground forces.

Yeah but hey - hes still in business - and im sure he will try to implement as much as he can in the coming years (if he keeps the enthusiasm that is) Im also sure the list of new features must be flipping long by now - everyone wants this that and the other so your gotta be patient. Maybe he will change his mind, maybe he will surprise you.......will see. -
Kinda wishing it was for real - be good to see people sticking up for "real" humans rights for once!

Perfect examples of countries that will never be at the top - anyway who exactly is gonna have a go at Canada with the USA right next to them and it being part of the British commonwealth - btw both Canada and Sweden have troops in Afganistan - so they do have some enemies I guess. As for Sweden - well no one knows it there, if they had something worth nicking the Germans would have been in there - claiming to be neutral and brandashing those tiny swiss army knives wouldnt have stopped much Sorry who has got to the top being nice? - apart from Santa - and even thats debatable - we only see what the press report -
Didnt know this film existed till yesterday - when we were chosing which film to see. The 3D thing was novel although blurry in places - and the story was cliche'd and predictable - but still possibly one of the best things ive ever seen.

Quote: "This weapons pack is compatible with the latest patched versions (Oct2008) of SF1 and WOE. Of course use at your own risk. " Use it if you wish - or just put it in a folder on your desktop and take out any weapons you want -
Based on Combat Proven effectiveness, worldwide sales, cost effectiveness and safety record the F-16 would be the best lightweight fighter jet of all time - however even though that started out as a LWF (F-16A ~16,000lbs empty) its ended up as a much heavier beast of late (F-16E Over 22,000lbs empty). People have tried to make similar lightweight jets - check out the AIDC F-CK-1 Ching-kuo from Taiwan, and the JF-17 (China/Pakistan). Modern A-A combat does not involve trying to merge with an opponent like in glorified scraps of old - the F-22/F-35 aims to remain undetected and kill an opponent before they know whats hit them. Even if not dealing with a stealth scenario it will be the jet with the better avionics, missiles, support and tactics that probably prevails - which should be long before they see each other. Thats a reason why the F-16E is still a top class lethal weapon.
