Russia to deliver Su-30MK2 fighters to Vietnam Air Force News — By RIA Novosti on August 24, 2009 at 6:21 am From: http://www.defencetalk.com/russia-to-deliver-su-30mk2-fighters-to-vietnam-21281/ ZHUKOVSKY: Russia will fulfill a contract on the delivery of eight Su-30MK2 fighters to Vietnam in 2010, state arms exporter Rosoboronexport said on Wednesday. Russia and Vietnam signed a of $500 million agreement on the sale of eight Su-30MK2 fighters in January 2009. “The contract was signed in January, and we will fulfill it in 2009-2010,†Alexander Mikheyev, deputy general director of Rosoboronexport said at the MAKS-2009 air show near Moscow. Mikheyev said Vietnam had already made several advanced payments under the contract and the deliveries would be made in two batches of four aircraft each. Su-30MK2 is an advanced two-seat version of the Su-27 Flanker multirole fighter with upgraded electronics and capability to launch anti-ship missiles. Russia’s Federal Service for Military Cooperation said in June that Vietnam had expressed interest in buying additional Su-30MK2 fighters and talks on a new contract could start in the near future. Military aircraft continue to dominate Russia’s arms exports, and are expected to total about $2.6 billion in 2009 sales

The above radar modes are explained from page 85 of the manual - that's training mission 13 - you need to go most of the training missions a few times really - if you dont do it now - you will defo be coming back to them in a few weeks time :)

What versions are you comparing exactly? Weapons loads? are we talking 1 on 1 in a turning fight or BVR? what do you mean by better? You can read varying accounts - and they will all lead to the same thing - neither was better overall. I have accounts of Israeli pilots choosing the F-15A over the F-14A because they thought it was better after testing them. On the other hand I have Iranian Pilots saying they chose the F-14A over the F-15A because it was better in a low speed turning fight and better at BVR blah - although even they say the F-14 wasn't much good at turning with 4 AIM-54s on the belly because of the weight. F-15A had a single pilot but the F-14A had 2 pilots so was better in that regards. F-14A Originally had the pants TF30 engines that were prone to compressor stalls - a thing experienced by Iranian pilots in combat - and also AFAIK one reason why the first female US Naval aviator died - but not really another thing you would want to manage. SO the F-15A had better engines and was faster so was better in that regards. Then BVR - The F-14A was almost a weapons system built around the AWG-9 and active AIM-54As - which in theory was far better than the Semi-Active AIM-7s the longest range missile carried by the F-15A. The F-14A was the only platform that could intercept the Recon version of the MiG-25RB - which regularly flew over Iran till F-14As came into service. Israel by their accounts had no such luck with the R/RB - the F-15A was unable to intercept them coming over Israel - but managed to get one when it was damaged by a HAWK SAM and had to come to lower altitudes. I have read the US had a zoom climb tactic to deal with 25R/RBs - but this was never put to practise AFAIK However BVR doesnt mean jack if you cant ID the target 40 miles away as friend or foe. Not to mention how good the AIM-54A really was against a nimble target with RHAW and good counter measures - because it was designed to shoot down big bombers. Iran claim to have many kills with the AIM-54A - used in conjunction with the AWG-9 and IFF - but this does not give an accurate picture - because the Iraqi pilots in about 90% of the cases probably didn't know they had been fired at until they were hit - dues to lack of RWR or RWRs that couldnt detect the threat.

Only the latest patch (Oct 2008) works with Vista with any stability on the older games - im guessing that it might be to do with the shaders - see here http://forum.combatace.com/index.php/topic/34221-running-any-thirdwire-sim-in-windows-vista-by-usafmtl-column5-jtin/ -

No ones done anything you cant change - however changing what you want to how you want requires understanding the actual flight model. Unfortunately its all based on real world physics and the mathematics of flight - because thats the only way you can model this accurately - TK has degrees in this field. The best you can do is take values from a flight model you like and transfer them over. Im guessing you are changing the G figure here: [FlightControl] ..... MaxG=8.50 ..... I think this only affects AI flight - anyway AFAIK having an airframe that Pulls more G doesn't really have that much to do with how agile or how fast a jet can turn - that depends on speed, stores, engine thrust (differs with altitude), drag, altitude (air gets thinner),wing loading, Thrust to weight ratio, roll/bank angle etc etc etc . Things like flaps ets - you should be able to find the relevant sections in the FM The reason some things might not move at speeds is they may have control limitations on them - again look in the FM Then when your an expert and have stopped messing around you can start modelling some real planes -

Thud Ridge is good - Col Broughton used to make recordings when he was flying so he could refer to them later.

But what is the history of that jet though - do they know if that plane was actually in service with the IAF at all - or was it supplied later to sit in a museum when it was retired from another country?

Dynamic campaign: when is it running?
MigBuster replied to Uhu's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
The campaign probably only runs when you are in flight from what I can tell - theres no feedback to say its constantly running. In Falcon 4AF you have a clock constantly ticking and can manipulate and see objects when you are not in flight - so that defo is running the whole time in real time. in the SF series it depends on the game how a campaign feels - for example in SF2 Rolling Thunder - even on hard settings you get assigned missions that are spaced out over the 4 years - so any targets that were destroyed in a previous mission have long been repaired by the Chinese Engineer core ;) Whereas in WOI the campaigns are over a short period of months - so targets and SAM sites destroyed in the previous game are still destroyed - giving a better sense of you being in a real time war - and evidence that the campaign does remember destroyed objects - however I would say (without asking TK) that objects are only affected during game play. If you press escape before landing - you would assume the game stops there and just takes into account of what has been destroyed - but i think only TK would know for sure. -
Just create a new folder called "weapons" in the objects folder. c:\..........\FirstEagles\Objects\Weapons

We'd let Hitler out on compasionate leave these days - well when I say we I mean the human rights/terrorist sympathisers / nutcases that the government seems to listen too. Why dont they just take him to the cemetery so he can piss over the graves!! Bottom line if he is guilty of murdering 200+ people - human rights DO NOT apply period!! Luckily this guy will still die of a pretty horrible prolonged death if he actually has cancer - so thats one positive to take.

1 way - for example Use the weps editor - and give the gun pod a name in its "Station Code" field like F106GUN. Then in the F-106A_Data.ini: [GunPodStation] ............ ModelNodeName=GunPod PylonMass=55 PylonDragArea=0.02 SpecificStationCode=F106GUN <<----------------------------- -
