The plunge - have you taken it ?
MigBuster replied to Syrinx's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
A word on deleting modded installs - hopefully obvious to most but suggest backing them up for a bit in case you need something later or want to see how something was done before! -
Updating Older Planes to SF2 Standards

Yep same as most others here i suspect - so its a kinda start from scratch - can any from NF5 be used even? I think we need a centralised list as a start that can be spilt up to avoid duplication. -

Have done most of the Voodoos F-101A/B/C and RF-101B/C/G and tons of others - though most have changed names/dates/loadouts from the original downloads as they have been customised to fit my own installs! -
Add-on Compatibility

Most things will actually work in SF2 if you are prepared to try things and tweak things yourself. Some fixes for SF2 are already on here - there are a few bits in the knowledgebase you will find useful: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?s=&am...st&p=301650 -

SF2 WOV: Campaign Mod
MigBuster replied to flysiu's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Yes there are differences in the new cat files. - And as said above extract copy's of the files only (using the catpack) - this means if you get something wrong you can delete the file from the folder and the game will use the one in the cat again - or you can just extract another copy to work on. -
Wow - alright for some Might be out of my price range though :(

The VPAF had periods where they didn't go up - this seems to be after the current tactics they were using failed in a big way - they then changed tactics and started again. There is a Hungarian Istvan Toperczer who has had access to the VPAFs files of that period and he has produced a couple of books based on this research. He quotes that the end of 67 and Feb 1968 were busy for attacks on bases - though at the end of 72 the airfields were being Hit nearly every day however MiG operations still continued in a limited way despite being suppressed. They moved the jets around country - had a lot of airbases and a lot of chinese / NK engineers and locals to help repair the airfields. Also China was right next door and had safe haven airfields there - which is where they had to move training to in 72. there are no records for how many MiGs survived LBII he says. They possibly had over 200 MiG-21/19/17s at the start of 72 (not confirmed). MiG-19 combat operations ceased in Aug 72 due to combat losses and attrition - so should only be in Linebacker 1 -

If you mean the A-1E Skyraider Only a Payware one at Razbams was ever done AFAIK - which I do have. It does work in SF2 with a few tweaks and fixes - although no prop when its engines off -
Cant doubt the talent of the man - the tragedy was what he turned into - RIP
