Are there any Electro-Optical or other type of warning sytems to counter heat seeking missiles?
MigBuster replied to SkyStrike's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Sensors that detect IR missiles are things only relevent to last 5-8 years (if that) or so AFAIK Adding such a thing to older jets would probably be cheating - so you may as well use external views to check nothing is creeping up on you. Dont fly in a straight line if faced with AA-2 armed Migs for too long - If you have stuck in MANPADS release flares and jink a lot when over defended areas. -
Sounds like you will be enforcing a certain area around a base, checking out possible mortor firing positions, going on aggresive patrols etc - similar to what the RAF regiment do at RAF bases and a lot of them are part timers. Probably better than sitting in a guard tower waiting to be shot at - but still dangerous. But then again is there a safe job in a war zone? Well good luck

If your using LOD Editor 610 as with my FA-18FG then from the top menu go to "Preferences" -> "Use LP Database" and the correct names will be listed down the left hand side.

I noticed the press over here seemed to put him down entirely based on his looks - but were duly gutted when the film turned out to be brilliant - for me its finally got the grit it needed - DC seems to be someone a lot more believable as an assassin.

MigBuster replied to krgf15's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
The original files should still be in the cat files - just cut and paste out the altered files you put in and test it. -
maneuverability Problem in Some Air Crafts
MigBuster replied to cora's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
The flight model is defined in the aircrafts data.ini file (e.g. f-16A_Netz_data.ini) - you can change it using Notepad there may be some old threads on here and simHQ describing some of the basic bits if you look. -

Impression of WOI ater the New Patch
MigBuster replied to a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Read the Mirage/Nesher Aces book last week - and the real Shahak goes the same speed with or without burners when the tanks are on according to one pilot - who easily kept up with his flight in mil power -

Spanish Civil War? This is an A-Team release is it? At the least you need the terrain and the WOI weapons editor - but if the mod uses something only in SFP1 it wont work - also you may get some funny handling from the planes if they are SFP1 flight models. Does the readme say anything useful in this regards? -
Just wait a few years and maybe the seas will rise - so all that profit can go on........... paying TK to implement the braking chute

Sounds bad - ive read about people getting shocked/killed when having their mobile phones plugged in(not sure how true or why)- although ive no idea what damage 110Volts direct from the mains would actually do if you received that much. Over here its about 220V-240V so I know what that means.

Doesnt surprise me tbh - people are used to getting freebies off the net its todays culture, a lot of people may not have credit cards - and even if they are old enough probably dont want to explain to their other halves why they are spending money on a gaming site - when they can download most of it for free anyway. The people who care have paid up - no surprise either - is always the way with a lot of hobbies/clubs where the few support the many - and the many have a good time - but the alternative is to have nothing. If you want money you have to force the issue more - probably at the expense of more members joining etc for example You could get rid of free downloads and have a basic joining fee 1000 downloads for say $10 / £5 maybe. Or you could put the best / most popular mods into an area that only paid up members can access. Before you do that though I would suggest having a very big banner on the Home page - making it much clearer than it currently is that subscription is here and its purpose to support the site.

As far as the F-16 goes you would want to go to thegamerstools and get RedBirds F-16 skin pack - or go to JanHass page and get his skins which are also amazing - links in older threads on here. No tutorial but some of the downloads ive put up should give you some idea of how things are done http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...amp;showcat=128

Changing 'Campaign Aircraft'
MigBuster replied to joes_shop's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Extract the campaigns data.ini file (ie woeCamp1_date.ini) from the cat file in the flight folder find the unit you want to change and add this with the plane you want to upgrade to during the campaign - obviously changing the date etc to what you want: UpgradeType=FIXED Upgrade[01].Date=10/8/1973 Upgrade[01].Type=A-10 Upgrade[01].Texture=USAFGrey1 -

AIM-9J was pants -did get kills but quite a few fired in 72 by the USAF and quite a lot went no where near according to pilot accounts - the N/P were later improved versions of the J and still only rear aspect - dont know about the N but the later P variant was used by Iran and had good combat performance according to Iranian accounts. Poor old Iraq its written that they were so shocked with the R-13/R-13R performance compared to Irans AIM-9P that they purchased AIM-9Bs from Jordan in 83 - and French Magic R550s in 81 and 84.
