New to W.O.I
MigBuster replied to BarnesNZ's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Hello there - WOI is being released as "Combat over Israel" in Europe if thats what they were on about? - for other games this series look at my sig - they all use the same engine to a degree so a lot of the mods can be used in any of them (though not all) With WOI the flight model has been revised a lot so some of the older planes you find on here may not fly so well until they are upgraded. -

I think but not 100% Armed Recon uses the routes in the movement.ini file - you will see they are mostly North of the DMZ the default ones - and they only work in single missions in the current WOV version AFAIK - would have been nice to have them in my campaign - but possibly after the patch. You could certainly place static objects using the targets file in the correct locations if you have the time - and the dynamic engine would give you strike missions to the locations randomly (if you are lucky) - or just do lots of single missions of course. In YAP there are quite a few HCM missions. -

Assuming you have put the files in the right place - Is that the correct terrain you have with it? - does it not need brains repainted tiles - should say in the readme -
SAM network Types...
MigBuster replied to malibu43's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Have had that before - and I noticed with some older planes ie Original A-7D - here didnt seem to be any SAM calls so there maybe something missing - or it just may be part of the game when you are alone. In YAP the single A-6 mission (Delta Sierra) you get no SAM calls at all so there is something that can be changed - but tbh im not that bothered myself - the real pilots didnt get one every time - and in LineBacker for example theres no point anyway with the amount that launch. What guidance does the SA-19 use? if its launched from a vehicle could it be an IR missile initially targeted by a radar on the vehicle? -

Freeware or Payware
MigBuster replied to Yorkiesand23's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
As the freeware licence states http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showt...=26131&st=0- you can only modify and redistribute peoples individual work under those terms that have actually SIGNED up to be part of that licence. If you have modified someones work and they are not on the list then get in touch with them and ask if you can release it as modified basically. When you register for A-Team downloads you will be given their terms - they dont allow redistribution of their original models/skins as a rule - as in you can modify it for personal use but it cant be posted on here for example. -

Agree there - especially if you like detail - you can can spend too long getting those panel lines right that no one will notice :) -

Im wondering whether the max visible distance value had to be increased for that? -
Left at AMARC till 1986 before a refurb to US Navy Standard apparently - thats a long time to leave it sitting there :( Amazing to think that the F-14A could have racked up 159 confirmed Air to Air kills with Iran - now thats a Turkey shoot!
-
Now now be nice - There was plenty of Georgian Artillery and armour on the BBC rolling out of SO - and they only reported military targets being hit - apart from a stray bomb - but that happens in every air campaign tbh.

Yes - it is actually designed for the Original Falcon 4 and works best over that.

ECM Project
MigBuster replied to column5's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
thought so - I know some of the later SA-2s used by the VPAF were HOJ - but the pods got round that by jamming the guidance commands so the things just crashed back to earth - not easy to model something so complicated really - just keep the HOJ box unticked -
Having a problem with a laser designator
MigBuster replied to HawgEngineMech's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Is that the stock WOE A-10A? thought it had a built in one - dont think ive ever had to add a designating pod to drop Paveways - though will need to check this later. As for the stock WOE AVQ-23 in the weps editor does it have its weapon type as Noise Jammer and not laser designator (or whatever)? -
Do you know if any US forces are currently helping secure the Nukes?

Help needed with mod installs
MigBuster replied to doomlordis's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Are you using the weps editor that came with the weapons pack? - or are you using the one that works with WOI - that you can get from here or 3rdWires site? - should be dated 2008
