Be surprised if you can make that change in AF - but look around and see if there is a similar editor for AF (maybe Frugals) - I havnt seen anything like that though myself.

You could look and see if any other driver versions work? assume you have checked basics like defragging etc They all work on my GeForce7600 (forceware 93.71 is best for me)- but as ever I still get a lot of shimmering on the trees even with AA/AF up to max - the card hates tgas for some reason - i really need to sort it out sometime! -

What settings are you using? Easy radar I think may place the jet in the centre from what i remember - and give you a 360 deg view - though have never used it myself. hard/normal settings should give you a more realistic radar which only sweeps in front of you (about 120 degrees ) - so your nose would be the bottom of the radar screen and all contacts would be in the front 120 degs only for example. Still gives a you a top look down view - but you will only know a jets altitude if you lock it up. thats a point actually im not sure if the radar represents B scope type display - where your nose is actually the entire bottom line of the radar display - will have to check -

Crazy Maneuvers
MigBuster replied to Rambler 1-1's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
he was doing just fine I imagine - but was probably flying around with 2 enemy planes on his 6 and not really caring about it :) Have seen plenty of Migs etc that take ages to go down - even with 1 wing - cant comment on how realistic this would be - you would expect it to go straight down spinning around like a helicopter maybe. -
Cool - great work there in saving the jet - and lives/buildings - although he does jettison the tanks - do you think they have a predefined drop area? Also drops it right onto the very beginning of the runway! Falcon 4 simulates that glide experience okay judging from that - albeit with me crashing into the perimeter fence

Weird Problem
MigBuster replied to Stick's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
and you tried this? http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showtopic=26451 Assume you added patches to the game? does it hang in all versions? -
Never played IL2 - but FE is a blast - I have the expansion pack and latest patch which improves things a lot over the initial out of box FE - for a start you can recover from spins - and some of the stupid AI behaviour was fixed So different syle of dogfighting to what im used to - prepare for massive dogfights - prepare to die a lot - the AI is pretty good!

Harrier Campaign will not work in WOE
MigBuster replied to Fatman's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Whatever campaign you have there - will assume it needs the desert.cat in SF - if so this may be of some use http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showtopic=12230 -
Jeez - well at least it looks like things have improved in regards to fire control - if you read about the damage caused by previous accidental fires ie USS Oriskany for one. Suppose it also depends where the fire starts!

WOV won’t start
MigBuster replied to James1945's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Sounds like you are using the wrong version of the weapons editor to save the file The version of WOV you are running will determine the version you need - so what version of WOV are you running? btw this is in the wrong forum -
Personalized Decal
MigBuster replied to Jug's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
lol Well with an existing jet in the skin there is a file called Decals.ini - open that up and you will see [Decal001] MeshName=vertical_stabilizer DecalLevel=1 DecalFacing=LEFT FilenameFormat=A7TailL Position=-4.9,2.21 Rotation=0.0 Scale=4.5 DecalMaxLOD=4 [Decal002] etc Should be obvious where the decal goes via the Mesh name - you will see that the rotation , position and scale can be changed very accurately. An easy way to get positions is to skin a plane that already has a complete decals ini. If the original skinner hasnt used decals - then you may have to use trial and error - sometimes even changing the size or position can cause them to disapear or cause decal leak and other weird things. -
wow - Havnt seen that for years - think I taped most of them first time around - around 1990 I think. Never saw much of Rob Newman again did we.

I dont think even Chuck Norris in make up could replace Mr T

Personalized Decal
MigBuster replied to Jug's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Also depends on which program you use - if I was to write a how to it would be based on G.I.M.P because its free, open source and there are lots of tutorials on the web for the basics. However I will tell you that it will take a 100th of the time to actually do the decal though than it will to write a how-to - and even then people may still not get it. :close_tema: disclaimer: requests for tedious How-Tos are not on my list at the mo. -
Vietnam-era ECM pod textures
MigBuster replied to mppd's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
I have quite a few B/W photos and colour plates but nothing with much really close up detail - not any more detail then they already have I imagine. -
They are developing the game from scratch - and its not going to be Open Source unless it becomes abandonware - they will be looking for skinners albeit "talented" ones though. The best of luck to them - they will need it over the coming years.
