I must admit I thought the later Nam era missiles such as the AIM-9J would be much better - but for example out of 31 attempted launches in 1972 of the AIM-9J - only 4 scored kills - 23 missed and 4 stayed on the rail. Yes there are various reasons - such as ripple firing/ combat stress and firing out of parameters (range/ pulling too many Gs etc) but I can see why TK has perhaps given the missile that performance - he does (claim) to put in a lot of research into these things.

So which missiles do you need help with in particular?

Not a bad review - complains about useless missiles like all other newbies though - needs to learn how to use them more like!

Has this been brought up because everyone is still wondering which jet to put in Topgun 2 Theres a lot of affection for the F-14 it seems - and it would be great to be in the 80s again in some ways when it and others were in their prime. It has never worked from day 1 AFAIK - was never implemented into SF:P1 or any of the others. Some of the 3rd party Mig-25s have chutes - but these auto deploy as part of the actual model I think

Still hoping for some news on Lead Pursuits next sim - I would expect upto date A-A combat with a DX10 engine - and possibly the focus on the FA-18E/F - and if its like Falcon you can fly an F-22 etc with unrealistic flight model if you like blah

Well for sounds go to <drive>:\...\falcon4AF\sounds Look in there or the subfolders for any sounds (wav files) with the same names you have downloaded. One you find them rename them to nameofFile_old.wav then paste in the new ones you have - (this is so you dont overwrite the old ones.) Not sure why it has an ini - suspect its for a mod pack installer - you can paste the contents in here You cant just drop skins into a game directory like with 3rd Wire sims - the only way to install them in AF is to use the skin pack installer or lodEditor As before download a skin from gamers tools - which should be .skn format - but if its not it will be a zip file (which includes various bmp and ini files) - so put it in a folder called "Falcon skins" or something - then rename it from skin.zip to skin.skn then browse to "Falcon Skins" with the skin pack installer (which only recognises .skn files). ie \falcon_Skins\tornadoskin.skn I dont advise you use LODEditor till you can grasp using the skin installer

Where are you getting stuck exactly? it does come with instructions - I dont know of any tutorials myself - although you could try searching threads at frugals to see if anyone else has asked similar questions.

From what I remember the press over here hated George Bush Jnr and didnt want him in power - so thankfully whatever the press here thinks it means jack S (and so it should)- Our press is so biased and corrupt anyway. Think it was done so there are more Migs for you to shoot down :) If you want them you have to put them in - there are allied SAMs like Hawks etc in the downloads section.

If they do (unlikely) im not bothered tbh - will be some extra planes flying around that area - and give the USAF something to mock intercept. Bombers on Cuba is more of a political statement (if true) - im pretty sure their ICBMs based in Russia would do a better and more than adequate job regardless of whats on Cuba if it ever came to that - so you could say why would they do it! Well as for End of called war treaties - one of the conditions apparently was not expanding NATO further into Europe - which we have done so blatently and now we are putting missiles in former USSR territories - I can see why Russia may think we are taking the pi$$.
