  1. B-52 Airborne Electronic Attack Technical Maturation Contract awarded Written on June 27, 2008 – 9:25 pm | by FIDSNS | The Boeing Company [NYSE: BA] has been awarded a $14.9 million contract by the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory to develop and mature technologies required to enable airborne electronic attack from long distances, filling the stand-off electronic attack role. The contract includes systems engineering studies focusing on potential pod installation on the B-52H aircraft, as the designated demonstration airframe. This effort will advance the technology required for the planned Core Component Jammer (CCJ). “We look forward to maturing the planned CCJ technology, which will keep our warfighters safer as they complete missions in the air and on the ground,” said Scot Oathout, director of B-52 Programs for Boeing. “This is the first step in getting this capability fielded, and the B-52H is the right platform to mature this technology.” The multi-mission B-52H is the only platform in the Air Force inventory that accommodates all necessary attributes for jamming electronic attacks while delivering its full complement of weapons, including responsiveness, range, loiter time, size and power. “Adding this capability to the B-52H will strengthen its position as the most versatile aircraft in the U.S. inventory,” said Jeff Weis, CCJ program manager for Boeing. “The B-52 will still be able to deliver precision weapons on target while protecting other allied forces in theater.” The Boeing-led team will employ the electronic-attack expertise of Bethpage, N.Y.-based Northrop Grumman Integrated Systems. After successful completion of this initial three-year effort, a follow-on effort to demonstrate in-flight, stand-off jamming on the B-52 is scheduled for 2011-2012. from Article
  2. Changing cockpits

Did you only get the F-16CJ pit? if so it should appear when you fly a Block 50 or 52 Looks like there is: F-16A MLU F-16CG Block 40/42 F-16CJ Block 50/52 http://www.cockpits.net/website/sales1.html
  3. Not sure what else to suggest - try disabling your Anti virus software before running the game. Also try changing some of the advanced Nvidia settings - or set up a profile for SFG. In regards to drivers you can find different versions on nvidias web site http://arg.nvidia.com/page/home.html If its still not working - this is the reinstall procedure you should have carried out before: 1. Uninstall the game 2. find the folder you installed it in (example: C:\prog~\SFG) and delete any remaining files. 3. restart the PC 4. reinstall the game 5. install patch v5-15-06 6. test game 5. install patch v8-30-06 7. test game
  4. Have you put MERs and TERs on the pylons in the loadout.ini?
  5. AddOns

Then it wont work - they have to be .skn as ive said Tell me exactly what files are in one of the zip files.
  6. hmm - what would I do without you babe
  7. Good point - I always stick 1 on each wing in the default loadout (apart from on the A-10)- probably because the lack of trim control annoys me!
  8. Have you tried running the game in different screen resolutions from the in game options menu? If you have a valid copy of SFG and its definately installed correctly - it should have no problems running on your PC - its either a Windows problem - or its your geforce drivers at a guess. So if you havnt already - defrag your drives, run scandisk, run a virus scan etc If you think Windows is in good working order - then you may want to consider using different drivers - I currently use NVidia Forceware 84.21 - though whatever you do its up to you My DirectX Version is: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)
  9. Or if you are lazy like me - just jettison the bomb racks (ctrl+J)- it should trim out ok then Ive had the issue with stock AC too - have just put up with it - like having no braking parachute when pressing ctrl+B
  10. AddOns

Your using SkinPack Installer V1.0 yeah Click on the "Directory" button and select the folder where you have placed the skins Then click on the down arrow next to the drop down box. If no entries appear then the skins you have in that folder are in the wrong format or they are not for AF. Are they defo .skn files or are they .zips?
  11. US built "Su-33"

Well most things becomes obsolete one day - but at the moment stealth is having its day so to speak - and its a massive advantage if applied correctly it would seem. How long it lasts - who knows - but I doubt the US will be sitting on its ass waiting for someone to find a cure.
  12. Yuupiiiii! Quarter Finals here we go!

Told ya - they couldnt lose with Torres and Alonso in the team!
  13. Can confirm the following: 1. Do you get any Error Messages when the game closes? 2. Does the game load up okay BEFORE you install the patch? 3. Can you try this - go to START-> RUN then type in "dxdiag" without the quotes and let us know the version and if it finds any problems 4. Are you running Windows XP Service Pack 1 or 2? The only patches you should be installing are on here: http://www.thirdwire.com/downloads_sfg.htm
  14. Subscription Plans NOW Available

Hmm - why has it changed your status - no one will know you are a Moderator now! Tell me what to do will you
  15. US built "Su-33"

UAVs may have endurance - and they are ok bombing such foes as the Taleban - but anything that has to loiter at 200kts over a real ADS wont be loitering for long - let alone in a high ECM environment where the link back may just be jammed. The pilot will be safe - but it will be mission failed - the only UAV replacement for an F-35 would be an Unmanned F-35 that doesnt rely on being controlled from the other side of the world.
  16. AddOns

Did you hit the backup button? - dont think anything works till you do that you should then be able to browse to whereever you put the skins after hitting the "Directory" button - then selecting from the drop down list - (They must be .skn files)
  17. WIP #2 - The FMs

Wow - that is above and beyond Peter01 - I hope all the FE players are grateful - cos they should be!!
  18. Surprised the AV software wont allow you to authorise the file as being valid - so it will ignore it
  19. Some screens, just cuz (56k will not like)

Must resist saying something nice about LOMAC....... Those skins look flippin amazing!! although - TW series with DX10 and new particle system that im sure TK is working on for Vista - we will see I guess
  20. US built "Su-33"

Nice - but would still be a 4.5 gen jet (like the SU-33) without Stealth. "Stealths Days are numbered??" - Thats a bit far - are you any relation to that bloke that turned down the Beatles in 1960 because he thought Guitar bands were on the way out? think I would take an F-35 anyday over a 4.5 Jet against a modern IADS and modern jet opposition - for the foreseeable future stealth is such a big advantage its unfair!
  21. Thank You MK2

Many thanks MK2 for your dedication and the money you have put into this concern every month - people who come on here really dont know how lucky they are - thanks to you.
  22. Have taken the for a spin in WOV - very nice! great cockpit and M61A1 cannon animation, and much needed HUD Just need WOV to be updated now so I can use the radar :dirol: Just off to tell TK to pull his finger out
  23. Let's see who's on the ball...

What sounds are they is that USNstall etc? Yeah I have everything up to the max with the mod - but changes nothing - you would have to run Falcon to see what I mean. :moil:
  24. Let's see who's on the ball...

Would be impressed - but in reality is there any plane you couldnt put a gun on and win against a Mig in WOV? TK needs to hire the Ace Mig-29 pilot from Falcon 4 - then the only place that F-111 will be going is very fast at low level praying you can outrun him
