Is it possible to assign an AI flight secondary targets?
MigBuster replied to Icarus999's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Maybe that explains why they sometimes fly out of the war zone completely and in the direction of Tahiti. Sometimes the only commands that work are rejoin and return to base - and I was starting to suspect that the AI was perhaps learning cowardice! But to contradict that - why do they always attack bombers with tail guns by flying to within about 5 mtrs of them - stupidness or just very brave? -

Where did you get this from? Somebody recently posted a similar problem with a "free" version they found on the web. Basically if you have installed it properly (or even tried reinstalling it) you need to go back to whoever you bought it from and see if they can check out the download and then provide you with the full thing. -
Quote from TK on future TW games
MigBuster posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
"Anything big (Korea and Desert Storm) will have to be broken up into several pieces - for Korea, we might do three parts, USAF, USN, and UN forces, for example. For DS, we probably need to break it down further depending on level of avionics we want, each one might end up having single airplane type only. Or, we can try to buildup some more planes up in other theaters and reuse them, so if we do, say Suez now, and Korea next, then we can have bigger initial Korea game, or if we do F-14A sim now and do DS next, etc etc. Either way, we're looking at 2009/2010 for our next new title. We're working on couple of smaller things for this year (still experimenting on how the online sales go for different types of titles), and later this year/earlier next year, we'll have Vista version of current titles (which also gives us opportunity to go back and update some of the really old contents thats showing their age), and then the new game next TK" -
Ive got 4 campaigns and by default depending on which one you use you can fly for the RAF, French, Australian, US, and German AFs Although you can just change all this to fly for whoever you like - as with the other TW sims. In "create single mission" you can just set the plane to be one of just about any nation including Belgium. Havnt checked about other front mods yet - but I have verdun and cambrai France maps by default.

Will say that with the expansion Pack I got 3 different versions of Sopwith Camel - the lowest one being only 110 BHP - thats the same power as a Ford Fiesta I had about 12 years ago And just like that its quicker to get out and walk - you literally get out run by the bombers - especially that AEG thing. The AEG is a nightmare - for those that do have it watch out for ones that get hit and fly lower - their front gunner will shoot up at you while you are trying to fly under the higher bombers mutual cover fire!

Last dogfight episode this Sat, season 2 on sale.

Well extrapolating and analysing all the available information we have currently - I would say 2 weeks -
I play with the expansion pack and the latest patch - which have fixed quite a few things and enhanced the game loads - so you even get to see the medals won etc. The AI planes seem very good - so expect to get shot up a lot on hard level - and you can have some very nervy and close call dogfights. Ive never played WW1 sim before - but its a good bit of fun (particularly starting in the air) - and you can get into dogfights with loads of planes - creates a great atmosphere - though you have to see it for yourself - kinda helps that everything happens in slow motion compared to the jet sims :) Also I just stick all settings on hard - its even quite easy to see the ground targets at such a slow speed (well with a trackIR). The spad seems to be the fastest allied plane - although it also can get into unrecoverable spins if you are not careful on the stick. There are terrain, menu cloud mods out there etc like for the rest of the TW series.

I dont think the bombs do show come to think of it - they do when you drop them though. Ive no idea if those planes could actually mount bombs anyway.

Coop multipayer: How does WOV choose the target(s)?
MigBuster replied to dukejavelin's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Not really noob questions cos MP isnt used much and is limited in this series - although its worth looking in the KB or searching for old threads. Also im not sure how much you can change without having to change other peoples installs too. There are a few people (Steakeagle?) that have palyed a lot so may know -
We are just grateful that people like you are there to sort those guys out!
-
Most people seem to be running it okay it seems - there are quite a few different versions of Vista also so whether anyone has problem with 1 or the other Ive no idea

Cant speak for the US - but over here the people moaning really dont know they are born. The so called erotion of civil liberties here isnt major in anyway - not that I really care tbh - have nothing to hide so whats the issue. If in 10 years it has turned into the British society portraid in "V for Vendetta" then I will eat my hat - but I really cant see it happening somehow.
-
Back on topic - well Blue thunder - perhaps we can now see for real what happens in RL when an F-16 with an AIM-9X (standing for freedom obviously) takes on an extremely lame chopper with a machine gun . Well if you are comparing the Soviets to Terrorists - the Soviets may have had the decency to fire their Nukes from TU-160s etc etc - whereas the terrorist is happier to put a dirty bomb in a suitcase and come here on Easy jet. Though tbh it has to be said that it doesnt matter how far you erode civil liberties - anyone can still pretty much come here and do what they like> I can only think that they currently get such good handouts from the state that they prefer living in the UK to paradise.

So CCTV operators hold the answer all Women want to know - "Does my bum look big in this" on a more serious note I cant believe many of these cameras can be manned 24 hours a day - think they are there so they can go through the film to watch a replay of you being stabbed. When my car got broken into a few years back it was right by a camera - luckily when I went to see the security guards they said there was no film in it - cant remember why

Well you would think so - but perhaps the only thing he devoted his life to was creating anonymity when browsing the web :) Its not too difficult actually - <without saying 2much.......> then photobucket will only get the IP of that server. China would need to find that server and see if its actually logging the connections to it (unlikely) - end of the line until the said person connects again.

From that article (although im not taking it word for word) you cant work out whats more idiotic - that bloke or the pathetic justice system we have here for dealing with t***s like that :lazy2:

The best WOV experience
MigBuster replied to toonces's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Was gonna say YAP probably Try the F-4B in 1965 - perhaps add a terrain and green hell trees - and find a way to make the AAA more lethal - that should keep you on your toes. -
Dunno what the Fuss is tbh - TKs sims are fun in many different ways and can appeal to both game players playing for fun, sim players, and modders alike. He has released a steady stream of these SFP1, SFG, WOV, WOE, First Eagles and WOI over 6 years with more on the horizon - what more could you want. For the Hard Core bunch well there is Falcon and its variants, LOMAC - and in the future there should be a new version of Falcon from Lead Pursuit - and Fighter Ops possibly. Considering how long these take to learn - a new one every 10 years aint a bad idea IMO :D The arcade players have a console anyway and there is plenty of jet fighter arcade games to keep them happy too Theres a ton of choice out there so im not really sure there is much of a downfall going on. If you take into consideration the time it takes to fly a mission in WOV, start modding it etc with all the thousands of mods out there - I cant believe there is anybody out there with enough time on there hands to even worry about it - even less if they have the entire TW series!

I havnt got Tears for Fears greatest yet - was meaning to get it. There was a film (think it was Donno Darko) I saw a few years back that played one of their tracks (head over heels possibly) and I thought that it still sounded pretty good!
-
Yeah thats why I only bother with the greatest hits and compilations like "Now 1985" for most of them - Too young to care about the album stuff to a degree.
-
Well thanks for not making me feel so old anyway

Wendy James - I sure remember that babe :)

I remember thinking at the end of 1985 (was about 9 at the time) that there was no way that they could follow that year with any better music - but then again that was based on the pop charts - what did I know then! I do have loads of 80s greatest hits and love loads of music from it - some of it legend - some it just makes me embarresed to put it on here! The Jam, Police, Bon Jovi, Madness, Duran Duran, Level 42, UB40, Guns n Roses, Madonna, Queen, U2, Hewy Lewis, The Smiths, Style Council, Stone Roses, Pet Shop Boys (LOL), Beautiful South, Kylie Minogue :) At the time the 80s was amazing - a real get away from the embarassing lame fashion of the 70s where everything seemed to be brown - had loads of film blockbusters with great sound tracks including Back to the future/Ghostbusters/ Indiana Jones/ Star Wars (5/6) / TG - and of course Liverpool dominated the footy! Think it was a great decade for pop culture anyway!

SU-32 Export Fullback (Platypus) skin

Scenery Skin for the SU-32 Export Fullback (Platypus) (Falcon 4: Allied Force) Falcon 4 Allied Force has planes that are unskinned - and until you play the campaigns you don’t realise what a killer this is seeing a bright white jet! Anyway it’s annoyed me enough to do these skins. The SU-32 model in this sim is hopeless and I can’t find where some of the texture mapping comes from – so its limited effort at best on this one! The following instructions are for installing the skins using LOD Editor: (trust me it ain't rocket science! But you need to be careful) Will see about doing one for the skin pack installer if there is any need.
