  1. Posted in Wrong forum Short answer is that each individual HUD in each cockpit needs to be changed.
  2. Err That laser from the Death Star
  3. Zerks HiRes Pit

As a test set the battlefield to 2010 - then choose a training mission - you should be given an F-16D Block 50 If not just start up a quick campaign and choose a squadron with block 50/52s and see
  4. Zerks HiRes Pit

It does look different it should be lighter I remember seeing on the thread that it doesnt install it for the Block 40/42 Try using a block 50/52 and see what you get. This only installs a new 3D cockpit btw - the 2D cockpit remains the same
  5. Track IR

Yes use it in the the non clickable 3D pit only ( disable it in the 2D pit IMO) I switch cockpit views - a lot!
  6. Need Help on Ramp start

Hello Sidewinder How much RPM do you have when you are ready to go? If its on 25% then you need to hit the throttle ident to get it to 70% If thats okay then try mapping the throttle to some other keys to quickly check that its not the joystick slider causing the problem. Also in the "Controllers" tab in the "setup page" (in game) - make sure you can actually see the throttle slider move.
  7. Zerks HiRes Pit

As long as its going into the correct path for your game it should be fine Only difference with mine is that I had Hitiles in it when I installed it Try searching zerks threads at frugalsworld - you may be able to ask him yourself . All I will say is run defrag, and scandisk for now then try again.
  8. Zerks HiRes Pit

Worked first time for me What version of Allied Force are you running (latest is 1.0.13) Have you installed any mods?
  9. New skins for Allied Force

See link at bottom left hand corner of the site below and read the instructions - this is no drag and drop. http://www.janhas.net/
  10. If you are behind a jet try moving your nose up or down (smoothly)- sometimes I have to pitch up a bit to get a lock. There were some sound mods on here to change the lock tone to be a bit clearer also - that may come in handy for you.
  11. F-16 Block 60 Question

Well this "No, they are not. The E and F and an added ECM suite. Block 60 is simply Block 50/52 with the addition of CFTs." is wrong - the Block 60 is based on the Block 50/52 yes, it does have CFTs yes - however if you see the link ive sent you it has an AESA radar, totally new cockpit layout, internal FLIR system, and supposedly an ASPJ Basically the block 60 is the most advanced F-16 by a mile The USAF block 50/52 have to carry ECM pods (centre line) and FLIR pods on the sides of the intake if they want the same capability. They still only have the APG-68 radar too - although I have read that a new smaller AESA is being developed (Grumman?) and may be fitted as part of a future upgrade but havnt seen anything confirmed in regards to upgrading the USAF fleet to Block 60 - they may even just upgrade to Block 70 by the time they get funding! As for this: " The Desert Falcon is most comparable to Israel's F-16Ds." I think they probably meant F-16I - but ive no idea whats in that - its mostly Iraeli avionics!!
  12. F-16 Block 60 Question

See this http://www.f-16.net/f-16_versions_article10.html then send them to the forums over there
  13. Free Falcon

See the other threads on FF5 and Red Viper
  14. Is the game supposed to run a little slowish?

You can either move the sliders in the campaign settings so your squadron is assigned more A-A missions - however this may mean you losing the campaign overall - depending on the overall effect it has. (pick a squadron that is not just A-G) You can just schedule your own Barcap,DCA, Intercept etc mission yourself if you have some jets available in your squadron You can also manually set up any mission you like for any other NATO squadron if you like (you will need to select the relevent weapons for them too!)- in fact managing the actual campaign becomes a requirement eventually. Some people can shorten the campaign a lot by managing a lot of it themselves (although you really dont have to bother if you dont want!) Bear in mind that in the first couple of days of a campaign you will be doing both A-A and A-G in every mission whether you like it or not. SOmetimes you will just have to jettison your A-g weps and get out of there.
  15. Is the game supposed to run a little slowish?

Yep I get that Being a 10 year old game in some respects - I believe its to do with the game using your main CPU to process most of the graphics rather than handing it off to the GPU on the graphics card. Basically to run it faster you need a "dual core" main CPU (which it is programmed to utilize)
  16. Pilots!

What planes are we talking about here and what mode are you playing? Ive always seen pilots hanging in the air on parachutes - certainly enemy ones. For example shoot down 4 J-22s in a campaign over freindly territory and then you will see 4 parachutes hanging in the sky. If you dont see a parachute then they are dead and didnt eject In dogfight mode the enemy pilot seems reluctant to eject ive found.
  17. They just evaluate their defences on the perceived current/future threats in that region of the world - like everyone else.
  18. Do your wingmen know when to land?

Ok well they do crash sometimes if you use x64 acceleration and they are too low ive found. I have never had my element just fly around in a circle in years of playing it - so not sure whats wrong with your install - but then again I usually just land first - taxi and press Esc + E it takes over an hour for one mission - so I try to get backand land ASAP If you issue weapons free they sometimes fly off after everything - then you need to issue rejoin or weapons hold
  19. Do your wingmen know when to land?

No in a campaign they will follow you back to base if they are in one piece - in the formation you have specified - and then automatically call the tower without you doing anything. If they get damaged on missions they will go to the designated alternate airfield if they can by themselves. Ive never seen a plane just fly around forever - there will be loads of planes up during a campaign - all with specified missions - all have to take off and land though. Enemy jets work like the allied jets - they Taxi to the runway then take off - I havnt seen this happen much because I tend not to hang around too much in their airspace. You can sometimes see them using 6 if you are close to the base lined up or waiting to take off. They wont take off if the runway is bombed
  20. Im not saying his <50% kill rate for the AMRAAM variants is inacurate - but where did he get that the FA-18E/F will only be carrying 6 of them? He then goes into saying that both the F-18EF and F35!!! will be hard pressed to beat a Flanker BVR? He doesnt quite say how the Flanker is going to detect an F-35 head on funnily enough in this engagement! Also goes onto list the F-35 - which will be the most advanced jet on the planet in a few years time as an inferior type! Is this another - we only want the F-22 and everything else is crap type of docs that I keep seeing?
  21. It sure is - US missiles certainly have a lot more exposed real world usage to draw conclusions upon. The performance of Soviet missiles exported to client states was reportedly very poor - but then again were these versions just exported crap, were the pilots not trained, what was the environment they were flying in etc Here is a recent poor R-27 performance write up on the 1998 - 2000 war (Eritrea Vs Ethiopia) http://www.acig.org/artman/publish/article_189.shtml again can't vouch for the validness of the info but it was an interesting read. Will add that the Germans had some Archers to go with their Mig 29s after the end of the Cold War - and they were evaluated as being amazing. The ASRAAM program was started up to "catch up" with the archer R-73 according to this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AIM-132_ASRAAM
  22. A lot to ask

Yes and today we have graphics that look a million times better than back then and an operating system thats 97% stable if looked after - something we didnt have 10 years ago even. I cant ever imagine a game that would be as moddable as these sims back even then - Installing a program properly on Win95 was touch and go and often led to building the whole flippin PC. Also most games - yes they were playable out of the box - but any bugs in them / or the plane was the wrong colour etc (or wrong amount of rivets :) ) you were as good as stuck with it in most cases. There are some bugs we are still stuck with - but most of it can be changed relatively at least - and you will never please everyone anyway
  23. Do your wingmen know when to land?

Assume this is meant for this forum?? When you fly back to base your wingmen will tell the tower they are "inbound for landing" and get in the pattern for landing with all the other jets in the pattern. The enemy planes all do the same - ive never seen any just fly around in a circle
  24. Planes

The SU-32, FA-18F and EA-18G defo have no skins - you will see this in 2010. Trouble is you would have to create a template - do the skins - then inject them using the lod editor with their CT codes unless they can create something to work with the skinpack installer. A lot of work for planes that are mainly scenery really. Must admit it does annoy me slightly when I see them though!
  25. Its possible that the patches do look for some kind of flag that original versions get when they are patched but only LP would know that. So you have tried both the incremental and full patches and neither work ? Your version is Version 1.11 (Patch 10) which would be 2007? Does it give any idea as to what file is missing? What does direct2drive say about it - did they just patch up an original and create an image or was it supplied by LP? Will assume your version of Windows XP and PC are in top state and you are an Admin on there? You could also try asking Frugals where most of the Falcon techheads live to see if they know what the problem is.
