Yep okay - have loads of pics - will send you a pm -
Aw... I think the F-18F would be a great buy tbh - 1 plane with 10 x AIM120C-7s - sorted! Getting carriers is a bit of a trend at the mo - an international task force to any trouble spot in the world is the goal I suppose

Indonesia to consider buying F-16 fighter planes from US
MigBuster replied to BUFF's topic in Military and General Aviation
Cant believe there are still articles floating about on the subject http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m0EK...v38/ai_13077535 -
Well good point really - its not on my list - and I certainly wont be rushing out to buy a Blu-ray player until its been around for a while and the price has bottomed out. Now blue ray on a PS3 - through a friends 28" HD Widescreen TFT TV (about £2000) looks amazing I must admit. But then again my current TV - a Phillips 25" CRT - that cost £20 off a mate is never gonna be great. I Have a VHS/DVD combi player - only VHS records though because standard DVD recorders seem to expensive still and there are too many formats - and I have 2 PCs that can do this. Bought my first DVD film in 2004 and that was half price - so now as predicted my DVD and VHS collection is a worthless pile of plastic - worth about 50p each (if that) at a car boot sale! but then again its worthless pile of plastic anyway I suppose

Think they are already a member with older types. GD couldnt even see it in 1990 about when they decided to sell to LM Still i suppose hindsight is a great thing -
US Air Force says budgets are billions short
MigBuster replied to BUFF's topic in Military and General Aviation
Hmm well the USAF is having a tough time - but spare a thought for the RAF - who may need to wheel some Lancasters out of the museum soon - and of course the Algerian AF with their Friday afternoon built Migs! -
Algeria to return Russian MiG jets opting for French Rafale fighters instead?
MigBuster replied to BUFF's topic in Military and General Aviation
Things are pretty bad when even Algeria complains. Theres no excuse for bad quality anymore(if that really is the case) - when any of their competitors like France CAN export good quality. Well I hope they kept the receipt - though I suspect the Russians may not offer customer satisfaction or your money back! -

Excellent nice of him to give us these features - can finally riddle the place with static stock planes without using single missions (i think) Not really important but before anyone else asks - can you turn the engine off Wonder if TK will still be supporting the original Strike Fighters with the next service packs. -
The jet looks more intact than it should be!

Charlie's Aces part three corrupt- Help!
MigBuster replied to Reece's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Yeah - I get a corrupt file message when extracting it with WinRAR also. The original poster will need to check it and upload the files again unless someone else has it. -
MIG-29 OVT
MigBuster replied to combatacepilot's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Well in Vietnam initial contact was by a radar on a picket ship (ie red crown), early Airborne radar planes - or the Jets own radar. Once in visual range though - forget radar only your eyes will help you. So in close you should be looking for a guns shot or a rear aspect Sidewinder/Falcon shot (you dont need a radar lock for that) You should be able to get a radar lock on Migs (using the F-4 for example) - its required to fire a Sparrow - (and it takes time to lock up!) - but in close range the Boresight radar mode is the only mode of any use - its still something I rarely use though - looking down to muck around with radar screens isnt always the best idea in the middle of a dogfight! The weps editor works fine - check out the knowledge base (you need to run it in win98 compatibilty mode) Instead of selecting "Hard" select "Custom" and set everything to Hard apart from the HUD - so you still get the red box -

IR = Infra red - thats basically a Heat Seeking missile - which are mostly short range (ie AIM-9 Sidewinder). Looks like hes playing Wings Over Europe - but you can make WOV look like that with enough modding That cockpit looks like the 3rd party SU-27 one that you can download from here - it will work in WOV but you would have to change the game end date to somewhere after 1984. On hard settings - do you mean you dont get the red box around the enemy aircraft? - well you would have to use trackIR to keep your sights on them at close range and padlock is also useful. IMO dont play with the HUD settings on hard unless you have a big hi res monitor where you can actually see other planes without a red box. If you are playing WOV in its default state then you will get basic HUDs and poor radar performance - which would be correct for Jets from 1964 - 1972 -
Korean Air War Complete Mod in WoV?
MigBuster replied to vampirella's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mission/Campaign Building Discussion
There is a SFPE1 cat file extractor that can be used on cat files in the downloads section here. However files in cat files cant actually be removed from them afaik - so you dont really need to check because they will be there. (they would be in <terrain>.cat) - so look in the stock terrain folder for it. Any ideas who created this Korrain Mod? or where you got it from so it could be looked at? -

Actually when I say small - they would still probably considerable in time and effort required - take "realistic carrier ops" by itself for example. forget 2 weeks - 2 years! -

Expansion packs are a good way to go - a small manageable and totally defined project each time - ( kind of what YAP are doing in a way) - but here the goal would be to get engine game changes that can't currently be done. -
WOV SOUNDS
MigBuster replied to landrover's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Someone posted somewhere that the game speeds up windloop - because its meant to represent the air getting faster as you fly faster. If thats true then another file will need to be replaced - or there may be an ini that can be changed to stop it speeding up? Havnt tried this myself - so unless you have time to take a look take it out for now. -

MigBuster replied to vampirella's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mission/Campaign Building Discussion
The airfieldx.lod files are hidden away in the .cat files - (they can be extracted but its not required) Was trying to see if it was tring to reference a custom runway model file you didnt have. So you are using this in WOV? you say you have multiple terrains - is this in a single install of WOV? and have you installed more then one full campaign into a single install? (reason being if you install another campaign over the top of another then it will probably over write files needed for other things ) Can you give me a link to where you got this terrain from. -

MODERN Table of Organization for ROK army?
MigBuster replied to Arg Hamster's topic in Falcon 4 Series
Well in regards to Allied Force - its pretty much a given that no new features will be added by Lead Pursuit - though you could request it I suppose - however the last patch has now been and gone (probably) and they were concered mainly about stability and multiplayer features - which was much needed. I could moan about the F-18F and G and SU-32 not having skins - I could moan about the lack of IFF, detailed HMS, and missing A-10C from the 2010 campaign - but at the end of the day Im just thankful that LP have done what they did. So there are a lot of flaws - but its taken about 20 years to get this far - such is the scope and complexity of the Falcon series. I cant imagine Lead Pursuit ever even considered the ground units in too much detail (no time/money to do it) - I for one would have to look in the Tach ref for info on them - and I dont know (dont care) what they really get up to - as long as they look to defend themselves and blow up when my Maverick hits them. If you say is some detailed implementation of ground vehicles - then it was probably carried out by Microprose for the Original in the 90s. As for modding F4AF - then its very limited what can be changed compared to the SF series. You may be best off getting the original Falcon 4.0 and sticking Free/ Open Falcon on top of it - because these flavours are still being developed by their respective (albeit underground) groups so you may be able to request changes like the above.
