  1. I think the Block 15 was the first to be able to use sparrows - though the ADF was the first US version to actually carry them. They did also test the F-16A with Sparrows "From the get go" The F-20 probably could have done with a bubble canopy also and I would be surprised if it got anywhere near the F-16s agility - that was the point of the 16 having an unstable airframe after all. Other than that The F-20 weapons load was only listed as 3765kg to the 16's 5443kg plus the F-16 has a better listed ferry range.
  2. Funniest film scene ever

There arnt that many films that have made me really laugh like TV comedies do The Naked Gun series was good,so was Airplane and the Monty Python films when I was a kid. The Indiana Jones sequence when he comes up against the bloke with the fancy swordwork made my laugh at the time. More recently any scene from that Borat film - saw it at the cinema - was in pain after that!!
  3. In the main game folder for WOV you should have a file called options.ini you can open that up and find the single mission entry [singleMission] AircraftType=F-5C ............... ............. MissionYear=1968 StartYear=1964 EndYear=1973 <------- Change this to 2000 or whatever!
  4. The F-16A Cockpit with the newer Mirage Factory F-16's is complete with reflections
  5. Are you talkin about these ? http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autom...p;showfile=4565 If so you may need the weapons pack also WOV doesnt go past 1973 by default unless you have changed the relevant end year in the options.ini file. Also Make sure the Aircraft data section references the correct named files - for example here is the aircraft Data section from the MIG-23MS ini file. [AircraftData] AircraftFullName=MiG-23MS Flogger-E AircraftDataFile=MiG-23MS_data.ini CockpitDataFile=Cockpit_MiG.INI HangarScreen=MiG-23MS_HANGAR.bmp AvionicsDLL=Avionics60.dll AvionicsDataFilename=MiG-23MS_AVIONICS.INI LoadoutFile=MiG-23MS_loadout.ini LoadingScreen=Mig-23MS_loading.bmp LoadoutImage=MiG-23M_loadout.bmp
  6. Not sure which ini's you downloaded but they need to be for the correct model. Are they for the stock Mig 23 WOE or a 3rd Party one? For now remove them or revert back to the originals.
  7. Sounds pretty standard to me happens in most campaigns at some point. I think it can be changed to limit your ordanance - am not sure how though. - there may be something in the knowledgebase under campaign editing.
  8. Never seen that in my game - assume you can take out other fuel tanks okay? To fix it may be a case of finding the reference to that object in the relevant ini file - probably in the targets.ini somewhere.
  9. hmmm I have even shot down a Mig-17 while flying an A1 Skyraider - however just when you think they are pointless one will fly up behind you - and you wont know hes there until its too late. ps - I prefer Fighter-Bombers
  10. Didnt think there was one - If you are talkin about the F-16C cockpit I thought the reflections were part of the actual model and couldn't be added separately?
  11. Its a very stable game and ive only had regular freezes after changing wrong files. Did the game freeze like this before you started changing things?
  12. Not to sure how it works - but Yankee Air Pirate has loads of CAS missions with a mixture of infantry so it can be done in WOV. Maybe worth searching old threads to see how it was done if no one knows here - unless the Knowledge base has something about it.
  13. Demographic Similarities of Virtual Pilots

Something I have wondered about - though I must admit I didnt even touch any computer games from 17 to about 24 - had better things to do i guess From 13 - 17 years I had most flight sims going like Falcon, Mig 29 etc because it was a new thing at the time - I did love fighter planes though. I never actually played any of them like I do now im older - treated them just like any other games really - never would have known East was 90 degrees - just flew around in a circle looking for planes to shoot down from what i remember!

  15. Help for SFP1

So you cant select any weapons at the loadout screen? for any aircraft? Do you have a "weapons" folder in the "objects" folder still?
  16. My new son...

Many congratulations - now the real work starts
  17. The 2 on here: http://www.thirdwire.com/downloads_sfp1.htm dont forget to get the latest direct X also
  18. Can you select to fly it in a single mission and arm it with weapons? - or do you mean its not appearing in the 3D world?
  19. right up the road,what a mess,murder on campus

A truly tragic and devastating event :cray: http://news.bbc.co.uk/
  20. af is broke

hmm thats screwed - this is what Lead Pursuit used to recommend: If anyone is having issues uninstalling Allied Force, please try the following: Go to this page http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...kb;en-us;290301 Halfway down is the download link to grab the Installer Cleanup Utility package. Once you have downloaded the file, double click it and select "Run". This will install the package. Go to C:\Program Files\Windows Installer Clean Up and double click "msicuu.exe" In the list of programs that appear in the new window, choose (All Users) Falcon 4.0: Allied Force .... and at the bottom hit "remove". This should allow you to reinstall AF correctly.
  21. An FAA Hawker Sea Fury is credited with MiG 15 kill during the Korean War - so dont underestimate old timers - think thats what this thread is getting at?
  22. could go anywhere with that: DamagedEngineSoundName=CommunistLaughing
  23. Falcon 4 AF

Welcome Chief - glad to see you have a lot of time on your hands too - you may need it. The training missions are invaluable so go through them 1 at a time - and yes you get a 2 seat training version for the training - that I dont think you can change. You will find most people printed the entire manual off - I certainly did . Best to start off with the realistic avionics - no point in learning the simple stuff you wont use later. You will find a lot of tips on the simhq and Fugalsworld forums too - because when it comes to things like dogfighting and avoiding missiles the manual is just a basic quick start guide. The clickable 2D cockpit can mean you not having to learn all of the 3 million commands straight away - though over time you learn the more common ones obviously. If you end up liking the game then adding a TrackIR 4 for use in the 3D cockpit is a must for dogfighting - cant fly without one anymore! good luck
  24. Arcade games

Someone sent me an Excel spreadsheet file at work yesterday - opened it up and it had the original Pacman game embedded in it as a Flash object. works just like I remember - this ones free though
  25. Check This out

Cool - the Commanche series lives on - pity the US cancelled that thing!
