What a wonderful tribute...
MigBuster replied to UK_Widowmaker's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Artists behind 'ghost soldiers' project revealed National Theatre head Rufus Norris and artist Jeremy Deller were behind a Somme commemoration project with men dressed as World War One soldiers. The "modern memorial" involved about 1,500 voluntary participants appearing in public spaces across the UK. Photos and reactions to the project quickly spread across social media, connected by the #wearehere hashtag. Each carried a card with the name of the soldier they represented and his age - if known - when he died. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-36682140 -

Anniversary of the Somme...........a battle my dads dad fought in and never really got much information on it other than he was in the battle. On day 1 over 19,000 dead and around 57,000 casualties on the British side only, doesn't bear thinking about. Silly but this comedy ending had one of the best tributes to the WW1 fallen IMO -

Hopefully we can impound these ones before they realise we are out of money I took this out of a video..............although the guy is at Lockheed now he is also dissing a product he also has to sell....anyway thought it was interesting.

Respect CH! - good to hear from you. That's the big question.........why did we vote Brexit. The Leave campaign was fronted by 2 national jokes (Johnston / Farage ) - you may as well have put out Laurel and Hardy impersonators. I thought the whole thing was a fix - whereby the 2 major parties just put their feet up and expected everyone to vote for them instead of the 2 court jesters. Because they didn't was it just a swipe at the ruling elite?- the austerity cuts have upset a lot of people since 2010.....but it is likely those same people will come off worse again if the top people are affected. Sure some likely hoped all the recent immigrant influx from the EU would stop and they would be sent back down the Euro tunnel...............whereby we would all have our jobs back and it would be like the 60s again when you could just walk in any job because there were so many (or so I have been told). Of course non EU immigrants would still be coming in and taking our jobs wouldn't they? As for thinking about which way Scotland would vote, it is very likely most never considered they would have a chance to split again.....but on the other hand because Scotland nearly split in 2014 some likely didn't care. How many Scottish voted stay because they thought England would vote stay? I am pretty certain most of England would still want Scotland to stay in the UK at least and it would be very very sad if that split happened.

Lots of people will feel like Rusty and it is valid to a point because most people hate change and will rightly be upset at the changes they are seeing to places they grew up in and it is perfectly acceptable to see things like that. Where I live I have seen a lot of change over the years but not that much in the way of immigrants. I work with one Polish person and tbh he is worth about 3 of his English colleagues any day just due to his work ethic and integrity. I know they are not all like that but the ones that make the effort to come here and work are usually the go-getters and better people from their countries. I might sound old fashioned but the English schooling system has bred far too many lazy and in-disciplined people here.......and in recent years the only place I see the type of English old fashioned discipline and integrity is immigrants basically. Immigrants that have been here generations are brought up to be just as lazy and useless as everyone else it seems.........luckily we have an influx of Somalians to clean the toilets for us..while a lot of kids sit at home waiting for everything to arrive on a silver platter. (good luck with that!!) Sometimes stagnating and holding onto the past is not always the best thing (see IBM in the 80s) just for survival. Being a Liverpool fan naturally I get accused of hanging onto a glorious past......that history doesn't stop the current team being mediocre/sh*te. These days when I see an old listed building I often think its worthless and should be knocked down to build something useful.......maybe some housing that someone not super rich can afford! History should not be forgotten but trying to hold onto the past is usually a recipe for disaster. We tried the EU for 40 years and Economic growth was hardly anything to shout about.but hey that is also now in the past so onwards and upwards. If the pound keeps devaluing I might invite Tesla to start mass producing some cars here

Yes very important to question anything you are reading and never take it at face value. This site is © Copyright David Noakes 1997-2009 Looks to be this guy: http://eutruth.org.uk/david-noakes.html Seems a tad extreme............now all you need to do is get him to send you all the evidence for the wild claims!!

England are bad these days but Iceland could be a new low after that result. Even the footballers were eager to get out of Europe.
-
It doesn't have to be.........point is it is not a 3rd world disaster zone either, and there is life outside the EU.........which is good because that is what it appears the UK is now committed to. Only time will tell if it goes through to what will actually happen.................and it will all be worth it if Scotland are begging to rejoin the UK by then.
-
It is a very convincing video for the Pro Brexit side for sure...........makes out the EU economic model is an inflexible, stagnant, bureaucracy which is holding back growth and thus there is a far better future looking to the rest of the world and not be stuck in the past looking to one of the sick economies (the EU) of the world. Using Switzerland as an example of a very rich European country outside the EU is probably a good indicator of the opportunity out there with far less regulation on industry and commerce. It is interesting that the the small minority that want a second referendum look like they are in fact the ones looking to hold on to a rotten past when the future could be global.......again. Anyway at least the video makes things sound a bit more optimistic. Did someone mention NATO?............. nothing to do with EU membership so pretty much nothing changes...........that's right both UK and EU members will still need the USA to take out any Soviet era IADS in 3rd world countries before the rest of the EU can safely fly in.
-
Stop the personal attacks now - or this thread is history! Of course you can speculate all you like on this....but that is all you are doing..nothing more. Yes FACT democracy in action..........however when Simon Cowell puts things out to public vote they are generally less serious in nature.

DCS Nevada bundle and update
MigBuster posted a topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
Nevada Map Bundle Deal Weekend! As our first DLC map for DCS World, the Nevada Test and Training Range map has been a big success in both its popularity and its showcasing of new map technologies. The Nevada Test and Training Range (NTTR) has the largest contiguous air and ground space available for peacetime military operations in the free world. The NTTR land area includes simulated air defense systems, mock airbases, and several target ranges. The NTTR was also used for nuclear testing. Today, it is home to RED FLAG and other military exercises that include countries from around the world. The NTTR map for DCS World 2 includes Nellis AFB, Creech AFB and the infamous Groom Lake AFB (aka Area 51). This map also includes the city of Las Vegas, McCarran International Airport, and Hoover Dam. Once version 1.5.4 is released, we will be updating the Nevada map to take advantage of new Virtual Reality features and other improvements/fixes. 40% off bundles deals from Friday, 24 June 2016 at 1500 GMT to Monday, 27 June 2016 at 0900 GMT. DCS World Update News This Friday we hope to release 1.5.4 into the open beta. If after a week we see no blocking bugs in the 1.5.4 open beta, we will move it to the public build the following Friday. Once 1.5.4 is released to the public build, we plan to release the F-86F / MiG-15bis 3rd party campaign. Following the update of DCS World 1.5, we will shift our focus back to DCS 2.0 for the next update. Have a wonderful weekend, The Eagle Dynamics Team -

Remains to be seen who Scotland will be joining in the EU if the other major countries hold Referendums as well I voted stay in EU of course..mainly so I could blame everyone else if it went down the pan. The bottom line is 99.9% of any population is in no position to know or vote on a matter such as this........so in reality it's a total farce. Fair play that the government respect the electorate - democracy at work for better or worse. On the other hand things could go well..............might check to see if we can rejoin though just in case

MigBuster posted a topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
DCS: F-5E Tiger II is now available for pre-purchase! Belsimtek with The Fighter Collection and Eagle Dynamics are happy to announce that DCS: F-5E Tiger II is available for pre-purchase from the DCS shop. The pre-purchase provides both a 20% discount off the retail price and access to the Early Access coming in July-August 2016. DCS: F-5E Tiger II will sell for $59.99 in July 2016. Pre Purchase now for $47.99 and save 20%! In addition to the 20% purchase discount, pre-purchasers will receive a 20% full-price value in bonus points for future purchases! Teaser DCS: F-5E Tiger II The F-5E was developed by Northrop Corporation in early 1970s. The light tactical fighter is an upgraded version based on previous F-5A developments. The F-5s' combat role encompasses air superiority, ground support, and ground attack. Given its mission flexibility, ease of operation, and low cost, the Tiger II has, and continues to serve, air forces across the globe. The F-5E has trapeziform wings, two turbojet engines equipped with afterburners, and tricycle landing gear. Pitch, roll, and yaw control systems are hydraulically actuated in order to relieve control stick and rudder pedals forces. Artificial feel system is built in pitch and roll control systems to simulate aerodynamic loads for the pilot. For example: after the landing gear is retracted, left and right movement of the control stick is limited by a spring mechanism to prevent excessive roll rates. A pressurized cockpit and air conditioning system ensures pilot safety at all altitudes up to the service ceiling. The pilot is also provided with an oxygen mask and anti-g suit. The cockpit is fitted with a Martin Baker SIII S-3 ejection seat, two UHF radios, automatic direction finder, radio navigation system, and a standard set of navigation lights. Landing-taxi lights are located on the underside of each engine inlet duct are extended together with the landing gear. The cockpit canopy provides a superb in-flight view appropriate for air-to-air operations. The F-5E is armed with two 20-mm M39-A3 cannons with 280 rounds per each cannon. The cannons are located in the nose section, forward of the cockpit. Special deflectors are used to avoid compressor stall conditions caused by hot gas ingestion as a bi-product of operating the M-39-A3. Each cannon is capable of firing at a rate of 1500 to 1700 rounds per minute. Each wingtip incorporates a launcher rail capable of firing AIM-9 infrared-guided missiles. Five hard points (one centerline pylon and four underwing pylons) allow the aircraft to carry different types of air-to-ground weapons (bombs, cluster munitions, and rockets) 6,400 pounds (about 3000 kg) in total. In addition, illumination ammunition and cargo containers can be attached. To increase flight duration and range, external fuel tanks can be attached to three hard points (a centerline pylon and two inboard pylons). Maneuverability and speed can be maximized in combat by jettisoning all external stores. Key Features of the DCS: F-5E Tiger II: Professional Flight Model that accurately mimics the performance and flight characteristics of this legendary fighter Highly detailed, six-degrees-of-freedom (6 DOF) cockpit Interact with cockpit controls with your mouse Fully modelled weapon system Accurate F-5E model with multiple country markings Detailed modelling of the F-5E instruments, engine, radios, fuel, electrical, and hydraulic systems Single missions and full set of training missions will be created while in Early Access Full and Quick Start manuals in Russian and English languages Extended Campaign for the F-5E by Maple Flags Missions Developer (not included in the module package) Have a great weekend, The Eagle Dynamics Team -
