  1. Not sure............something tells me I had to record the sound files again at a lower sound level.
  2. Have had quick scan through the 2007 Su-27 book.......seems to be mostly ET/ER and R-77. Noticed some photos of dummy missiles with pointy heads in there but no text ref telling me what they are!. It is not uncommon for people to be sure something will come into service and then it gets cancelled so that could be why it was in older books. If ED state it never went into production ( Russian based company who work in the defence Industry) then it's not looking good at the moment.
  3. In the MiG-29 (2006) book he doesn't list it as a carried weapon but provides a random picture at the end. If the EA had a pointy nose like that.........the ones shown on RT would likely be R type.
  4. Okay thanks so 2004......I will see if he mentions anything in the later MiG-29 and Su-27 etc books.
  5. I have a lot of them........can you tell me the title please? and no thank you........it's a published book so it would violate copyright (I guess the above might be considered advertising) All rights reserved. No part of this publication may be reproduced, stored in a retrieval system, transmitted in any form or by any means, electronic, mechanical or photo-copied, recorded or otherwise, without the written permission of the publishers.
  6. I need your input asap!

    Have done okay with CH
  7. Agat clearly developed some kind of seeker. What year is that book? is it Yefim?
  8. btw dtm I am assuming you are aware that the IR versions of the R-27 would of course be "Fire and Forget" ?
  9. Is that definitive?..............I thought this was a good source http://www.designation-systems.net/non-us/soviet.html#_Listings_AA Yes I know.........my point was the journalists over here are certainly not experts and often state things that are incorrect.......not that they would know either way...that is why some kind of evidence would be useful.
  10. Okay so appears to be a massive thread on why it was removed from DCS: Incorrect. The AE was removed not because of user request but because the team knows that the missile has never entered Ru service and it was unrealistic to include it. As simple as that. -Matt http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=19815&page=4
  11. Which one is it? .............. every document I look at has a different Alamo designation for the R-27EA:
  12. Western journalists often talk complete bollocks when they are describing NATO jets so perhaps not compelling evidence.................... A photo of the missile with serial no and R-27AE printed in Russian on it like you may find on Western jets perhaps?..otherwise can anyone tell the difference in missile head shape?.... Okay so R-77s exported but none on active RuAF fighters in a combat zone?..........yet seems these never went into service either?
  13. Could be down to old ini or other files in those Terrains There care no old cat files or anything like that are there? If you are running the latest patch you may need to extract newer ini files and make changes to them if that is what is causing it.
  14. Are you new to this - do you know where the location for Mod folders are in SF2? (you have to create some of them) http://combatace.com/topic/62302-what-is-the-mod-folder/ Or see #1 here http://combatace.com/topic/44026-converting-older-planes-to-work-in-sf2-%E2%80%93-a-basic-guide-by-migbuster/
  15. Only happens on Desert 3 and 4 yes? Could be something it needs is missing.........as in the ini files are trying to reference something not in your install. Are you running fully merged?
  16. Dear Pilots! It's been almost a week since the release of DCS World 2.0 and the Open Alpha of the DCS: NEVADA Test and Training Range map. We are very happy to see the overwhelming positive response to the quality of the map and the level of enjoyment it is providing you. We do though realize that many of you are having problems downloading and installing DCS World 2.0 and the Nevada map. Our engineers are working to improve this and we are adding new file servers to improve this situation. Thank you for your patience. The Alpha release of the Nevada map has been very useful test for us to plan later, large releases. DCS World 1.5 Update Although a lot of the public focus has been on DCS World 2.0 and the Nevada map this past week, we continue to update and improve DCS World 1.5. Once we further debug version 1.5 and we make the Caucasus map compatible with DCS World 2.0, we will merge 1.5 content into a unified version 2.0. Next week though we plan to release a 1.5.2 update. DCS World 2.0 and Nevada Map Update Over the past week, we have been keeping a very close eye on bug reports and have noted them in our bug tracking database. We are now in the process of addressing those bugs in order to bring the map from Alpha to Beta. We expect to bring you the first Nevada map update next week. Here are some great screenshots of Nevada: Weekend Sale This weekend's sale will begin on Friday, December 4th at 1500 GMT and last until Monday, December 7th at 0900 GMT. For some great Nevada map action, an F-15C, Su-27, A-10A and Su-25 bundle will take 40% off the price of each individual module, plus you can take off an additional 30% using bonus points. This can provide you a 70% savings! DCS E-Shop Have a great weekend, The Eagle Dynamics Team

  18. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2487387#post2487387 Dear all, What follows is a preliminary changelog of DCS World 1.5. Because 1.5 is being built from a new branch of our code, we cannot account for changes made in earlier branches. As such, we had to create much of this changelog based on memory and older bug tracking reports. Because of this and that we will probably be adding or modifying items, this changelog is very preliminary and subject to change during the Open Beta period. Also please note that we are still awaiting changelog items for most of the BST modules. As items are added or modified, they will be highlighted in red. As for the status of releasing the 1.5 Open Beta, we have good news: we created the 1.5 branch (release version) today. Just as soon as we complete smoke testing, we will release it. Sincerely, The Eagle Dynamics Team DCS World 1.5.0 Changelog General New unified executable. Separate executables are no longer used for the front end and simulation. New graphics engine with the following features: DirectX 11 Support, optimized for GPU rather than CPU, improved lighting and shadowing, and improved graphical effects like contrails, flares and missile trail smoke, improved water Improved VR support with Direct Display mode and VR front end GUI, but still very much work-in-progress until hardware reaches consumer release versions Corrected track synchronization errors Note: Once DCS World 1.5 is out of Open Beta, we will update the DCS World User Manual to reflect all of the following changes Main Menu Moved Options to icon at top of Main Menu. 19. In the early morning hours on July 4th, 1986, 21-year-old Lance Corporal Howard A. Foote Jr. climbed a ladder leading into the cockpit of an A-4M Skyhawk. He started the jet up, taxied to one of Marine Corps Air Station El Toro’s runways—which was unlit at the time—and pushed the throttles forward. Moments later, the Lance Corporal would realize his dream to fly a tactical military jet, albeit just once and illegally. Foote flew out toward San Clemente Island, executing loops, rolls and high-speed maneuvers before turning back to MCAS El Toro after about 45 minutes to attempt a landing. This time, the runways were all very well lit and the base was buzzing with activity due to his “borrowing” of the jet. After several landing attempts, the Skyhawk maintainer put the A-4M down safely and was quickly detained after exiting the cockpit. There was little doubt that the whole stunt was extremely dangerous, but it was also an amazing accomplishment although Foote was no novice to flying. He was an accomplished glider pilot who set world records at a very young age. http://foxtrotalpha.jalopnik.com/the-tale-of-when-a-marine-mechanic-stole-an-a-4-skyhawk-1745015819

  23. Windows 10 tablet

Got a cheap (relatively) new Windows 10 tablet yesterday (32GB SSD & Intel Atom) to replace my old iPad and have all my flight sim manuals and checklists on. You can transfer stuff to its c drive via USB memory stick or using One Drive that auto saves it locally. Pretty good for the price (Made by Viglen) and my first real experience of using Win 10 in tablet mode. http://www.tesco.com/direct/windows-connect-10-tablet-intel-atom-1gb-ram-32gb-black/630-1078.prd
