  1. this line should be removed all together, because the current (?) RackSpecificStation code is either different, or there is none - also it prevents loading of other racks like the MDB2-67 MiG-21 loadout will be fixed very soon, maybe even today... I 'm about to release some testing planes with the next RSSW Test version. 2IR_AA8 is the rack reference name which is used by 2x R-60 missiles.
  2. Ahh. Ok I though I need to extract SF2 ... but if FE2 is extractable, then no prob. I did some experiments with a FE2 biplane FM to use with helicopters, which have serious problems with landing when controlled by the AI. Not much luck to figure out what is causing the problem(
  3. Sound a bit difficult... Do we need everything from the CAT files? Because there is a lot of files in the CAT which cannot be extracted, and are hidden to the official extractor...
  4. Excuse me for the - probably - stupid question, but please help me with this issue... I tried to use the Blue Side SAMs from the addon pack, but no matter what, the game does not deploy them... I needed them for testing the ARM type missiles from RSSW, but there are no targets at all. I don't remember if this is a bug of some sort, or they work only on specific custom maps.. I tried some custom maps, too but no luck. Only Vulcans and gun trucks on the blue side( thanks for your help!!
  5. OK, so if I understand right, Blue SAM_RADAR EW_RADAR STATIC_SAM types are only placed if built into the terrain ini ?? But which? They are separate target areas? I see Mobile AAA and Static AAA are being placed. I have just tried Rends Germany, but apart from being a nice detailed map, I found no blue SAM class objects at all, anywhere. Mobile_AAA classed single Hawks were being placed, without radar and no EW at all. Which of the terrains have such pre built sites? Yea, I guess I have to use ships for targets...
  6. Basically all of them... Im just downloading SW USA to see if it will work. I wanted to see this map long ago, good for testing and looks awesome anyway)) Indeed a nice map - but though luck(
  7. Makes you think doesn't it?

Thanks for enlightening me, why the F* I am receiving black friday spam. We have Golden Sunday , thats the last sunday before Christmas. Same story. Lame story. Produce. Consume. Multiply. Die.
  8. Not sure what do you mean, multiple absorbers in the same direction? I have such on the Kamov -25 main gear, but they belong to the same animation. The Shockstroke value equals with the distance the Tire (the point where it touches the ground) travels between the two extreme positions. (on the Z axis of the plane) As I experienced, if this value is set up badly, it can cause the plane to make a salto and crash when launched from a carrier.
  9. When determining range, I calculated with "maximum effective range" not absolute max range to where the missile can fly (usually only ballistic and from high alt only) and also it is the most difficult data type to acquire are the missile ballistic (and thrust) properties.. These missiles usually fly about to their designated (in-game) max range and even there they are slowing down considerably. If not, their guidance period ends with timout ( Missile Duration). This means an electric systems shutdown and self destruct. Game logic for missile flight is not really good, and very difficult to model a correct flight even having the correct real world data - not possible to model Low alt/High alt performance (range) and there is also not Min Alt/Max Alt launch property
  10. You mean reflective material? Or cockpit mirrors?
  11. Best if you don't give the target too much time to react, hence the closer range. Also better against CM equipped craft, as the missile need to pass less "percentage checks" against CM. Even with 90%, 90 of 90 of 90 is only 72... I found AA-8 perfect as is, with it's stock values and setting. It has two main variants, the early R-60 and the late R-60M. Both has a sub-variant with different proximity fuse (for export?) the R-60K and MK, but in game terms it means no real difference. R-60T is a reference for base variant (R-60). Some sources mention a SAHM variant R-60R but at best it was only a project.
  12. Yes, I did such, but I had also adjusted radars in order to be able to lock and launch weapons properly at max possible range (trajectory test). But not a bad idea, I will post simple reference aircraft (stock, but made flyable) with added RSSW loadout structure. That would make a real difference for comparison and easier testing. Our new Flogger set will be RSSW from start, of course.
  13. R-3S (AA-2A) MiG-21PF vs F-4E, Dogfight Fired all missiles from 6 o'clock position (guns omitted) Dogfight done 10 times, 18 missiles fired alltogether, 4 hits (2 with the first missile), 4 faulty missiles Notes: Launch range between 800-1300meters, I tried to anticipate a short period when the target flies straight RS-1U (AA-1A) MiG-19PF vs Vautour Interception 4 Missiles per mission Done 5 times, 20 missiles fired, 7 kills (2 double), 8 faulty missiles Note: Best launch range is between 2.5-3.4 km, from ambush when they fly straight. Many duds tho. R-98T + R-98R (AA-3C + AA-3D) Su-15 vs B-52 (stock) Interception Fired 82 missiles (unlimited ammo) on 8 B-52s 1 from head on (1 hit), 81 from 6 o'clock ( 3 hits) Did not count dud rounds this time. Note: From the direction where they dump the CM, almost impossible to achieve a hit. One hit was from proximity pass by.
  14. File Name: Vertical Pack for Soviet Navy File Submitter: Snailman File Submitted: 25 December 2013 File Category: Other Soviet Navy Vertical Pack 1.00 This is the first complete version of the Vertical Pack, now including the Yak-41M (also known by its commercial designation as Yak-141). I have modeled the plane as if it was deployed into combat units with its military designation Yak-41M. The plane served aboard the aircraft cruisers Novorossiysk and Baku, and on the aircraft carriers Tbilisi and Riga, from 1991-2010. This is a fine tuned or modified collection of everything I could find to improve the planes. I lot of time was invested in research and testing to provide you a working and accurate Yak-38/38M and Yak-41M. All feedback and suggestions are appreciated. Install I tried to include every component I have used with the planes, so it should work with a fresh unmodded SF2:NA. If you have DirX 9 and Win XP, then you also need Gerwin's IcelandNA modded terrain for XP to be able to play SF2NA on your PC. Just copy everything into your designated add-on folder and it should work. Beware it may overwrite existing add-on files and components you already have. Check it first, especially weapons. ****************** NEW in 1.0 version ****************** New content - Yak-41M VTOL flyable - old Su-27 cockpit for Yak-41M (Temporary) - Yak-41M Soviet Navy skin (completely new) - Yak-41M Soviet/Russian Navy Camo skin (completely new) - Yak-141 Commercial Prototype skin (completely new) - Stary's Yak-38 cockpit included (+ini changes for compatibilty) - Yak-38M Desert Camo skin from Afghanistan, Operation Romb 1980 (New) - Yak-38M Naval Camo skin, Tbilisi (Adm Kuznetsov) testing unit (New) - Mi-8T Soviet Navy skin (Unarmed transport and passenger version without pylons) - Yak-41M new afterburner effect, lift engines included. - Yak-41M OLS type IR Search&Tracking device added to 3D model. - Yak-41M added APU-470, AKU-58 and BD3-USK type pylon 3D objects for correct display - Modified Kiev class Aircraft cruiser data - AA-10, AA-11 and AA-12 missiles and Kh-31A, Kh-31P, Kh-35 ASM-s included (minor value changes apply) - Delta-NG control pod new 3D object and skin. - VSPU-36 gun pod new 3D object and skin (color variants included for different skins). - MBD2-67U quadruple bomb rack new 3D object and skin. - Yak-38 500liter drop tank new 3D object and skin. - Yak-38/38M Flight Manual Text - Yak-41M Flight Manual Text - Yak-41M textures are now JPG to save space - Kiev class aircraft cruiser name decals - Kiev class tactical numbers separately done, due to decal limit per mesh. - General purpose Soviet Navy red star insignia for ships - Soviet Navy Ship tactical number decal set 001-999 - Updated decal.ini files for ships (Udaloy, Slava, Kirov, Kresta II, Kashin, Krivak and Ulyanovsk) to display new ship numbers, insignia and name decals. - Wide-screen 16:9 and old 4:3 Hangar and Loading background pictures are both included in each aircraft folder. It uses a more realistic launch arrangement. This "variant" of the ship is now Kiev (82) class, added separately for campaign use. In 1982 pilots have started to use STOL takeoff doctrine. The "catapult" launch places has been reduced to two, and are using the majority of the deck, along the two converging yellow lines which have this exact purpose. The ship otherwise the same like Kiev (wo. suffix) VTOL mode. - Separate Flight Manuals in text files. - Yak-38/38M flight model has been simplified with the usage of center-of-mass shift. I did not know that feature earlier. It has no change on the previous flight performance. - Mi-8T added lights and optional unarmed version without pylons. ************************** Previous version 0.98 BETA ************************** Contents - Paladrian's MiG-21MF cockpit (temporary solution) - Yak-38 VTOL flyable. - Yak-38M VTOL flyable. - Weapons: OFAB-100, 250, 500 etc from SovietBombPack; Kh-23 missiles, UB-8M, UPK-23 gun pod and MBD2 racks from Ordnance Shop II; APU-60-1 rack from Cocas - Soviet Pacific Fleet skin (Modified stock skin, set as default) - Soviet Navy Grey skin (Redrawn stock skin) - Soviet Northern Fleet skin (Redrawn stock skin) - Soviet Navy pilot Bright orange overalls (Redrawn Red3202 pilot skin made by The Trooper) - Two loadout.ini for both aircraft, a loadout.VTOL and a loadout.STOL. Overwrite loadout.ini to switch between them as you wish for AI and campaing use. - Three Kiev_data.ini's one for STOL and one for VTOL style take offs. Use the VTOL loadout file for the VTOL take-off modded Kiev, for safety reasons. The third INI has a "castrated" take off position #1 (Catapult 1) to enable human player VTOL take-off, for Soviet Navy campaigns and missions. Fixes - Fixed engine thrust vectors and exhaust positions - Re-added lift engines to fuselage - Fixed number decals position - Fixed pylon ordnance positions - Fixed Ranging Radar and gun pod's aim point - Fixed Kiev class carrier "catapult positions" and AI aircraft take-off. 15. Thanks for the video!!! I have added it to my collection!!
  16. His gear cover saved him, seems to me. it worked like a little float...
  17. Nice! I wish if I could try Mig-21 DCS ((( Maybe for Xmas.... In SF2 this is very hard to reproduce... - Atolls... AA-2 series (stock included, but also other Rear60 IRM's) are pretty much useless, literally. Less than 1% hit rate which is nonsense. Regarding Vietnam AA-2 (R-3S) they had about 35% hit rate. In our new weapon pack we tried to make some workaround, but not yet perfect( - B-52s are almost invulnerable to anything but cannon fire. Especially some modded ones which have 1000+ jamming strength ))))
  18. A very good question, I also use the jul 2012 patch, but - if I remember - there has been issues with the Jul 2013 level.... there was a topic about it, but I forgot where. What does it change anyway? 280 MB.... As I purchased AI Planes #29 I need to upgrade if I want to see it... But I'm also modding and I don't want surprises...
  19. Its Putins birthday

I was amazed at the choice of holidays... I would have made the same choice if I could. *envious* They are everyone's godfather....
  20. Best Naval Combat \ Submarine Sims

Submarine: Dangerous Waters (would be a dream to connect with SF series to conduct ASW) Modern warship: Dangerous waters, although it focuses on ASW Harpoon series (and it's derivatives like Arctic circle) WW2: Aces of the deep (maybe Silent hunter series is better, but I played more with that, that time) Great Naval battles series (old, I know but haven't seen such ever since) Battlestations series, well not a sim, but the graphics are near perfect... so I have to mention this one too. I could use a read sim/strategy with the same gfx engine! Im really sorry about Dangerous water being not so modder friendly, I could use that system to make it a decent Harpoon substitute...
  21. Very good point, I didn't realize that myself... Ask yourself, everyone, how much would you ask for all your life's work? Way too much - if for sale at all. Everything is for sale for the right price, but does it worth ?
  22. There has been light-year long topics about this already.... He will not sell the code, I'm sure. I suggested if we hire him to continue the stuff for us the way we need it - from our money. No one was interested( No matter if you can acquire the code, no one can do quality work out of it, but it's creator. Believe me, to develop and continue something you haven't created yourself is an endless pain. I was in two groups already, where we "continued" abandon-ware games... Endless struggle and guess work... you try to fix a bug, and create three in the process. The man who made the code know what and why he has done. Supposed you acquired the original undamaged source without tricks and cracks.
  23. Germany to the front? OOOps!

I would say it is not bureaucracy ... it is the corruption of lobby-democracy autocracy... The military leadership (collaborating with the political caste) gives orders for the most expensive (and usually low quality/useless) equipment, then they distribute the "overprice" among themselves - then profit goes to the "club" who own the politics. Later (usually after elections...) the whole stuff is labelled obsolete - referring to it's low quality/uselessness - and the process restarts again.
  24. Germany to the front? OOOps!

Maybe, but more likely a deliberate disarmament of lesser powers and make them vulnerable to racketeering and manipulation. Sorry but who is the "we" )) ? Well, i'm interested about other statistics of course, it's not just our misery
  25. Germany to the front? OOOps!

Everything in Europe is in a very bad state. But nevertheless, we all have to race to please the masters. Shaking hand at Russia , at Iran, at China, at terror groups.... mouth-karate.
