  1. Thank you for sharing, I definately enjoy your engine sounds that are in the Stephen1918 planes. I agree that RoF is nice, but one of the big problems with RoF is that it is very limited in what you can mod (new planes, new theaters, etc). As a result, I hope you can find a release for your "modding" talents over there and if not, come on back, First Eagles can always use your talents to keep improving the game.
  2. NEWBIE! How do I install FE?

Modern TW patches are cumlative (post 2006), so yes it includes all the previous patches.
  3. NEWBIE! How do I install FE?

Here is the last patch for First Eagles: http://combatace.com/files/file/8942-first-eagles-nov-2008-update/ Unfortunetly, unless you get the FE Exp1 or FE Gold, you will not have some of the later planes like the Sopwith Camel or Fokker Dr1. If you go to the First Eagles / First Eagles 2 download section of this forum, you will see a lot of planes, skins, terrains and other items to upgrade your game. If you really like the game, you should really consider moving up to FE2, it not only has everything that FE Exp1/FEG has, but also runs faster on a multicore PC versus the older FE1 (which is optimized for the older single core PCs)
  4. Middle East problem fix

Trouble is if you did that, the environmentalists would complain about all of the polution.
  5. WIP DH-4 USAS

    Looks fantastic !!!!!!
  6. Ahhhhh, the price of progress.
  7. This is the modified Galicia_Data.ini file I created (FE2 optimized). It does require you to extract ALL of Staty's ".tod's" files plus his three tree and two city1.tga's for it to work. Look inside this Galicia_data.ini file and you will see all the Stary files required. I did ask Stary nicely yesterday if he could modifiy his Western Front FE/FE2 Seasonal Terrain for the Eastern Front (so we can use all the seasons) and he said to give him time.
  8. SimQH BLOWS!

I do the same as streakeagle says, I only go to SimQH to check what the Dev's say and then come back here. One of the biggest problems I have with SimQH is a certain person who posts about everything and really does not know much at all. As a result, this individual clouds and confuses the issues and when confronted about it, never admits that they are incorrect.
  9. Stary: I tried sending you a PM, but it will not accept !!! Is your mailbox full ??? Panama Red
  10. Currently there are no winter tiles because, (1) none of Stephen1918 three campaigns are in the winter, and so (2) he never made any Spring, Autumn or Winter matching tiles. Now if we could just get some of our "artist" FE/FE2 friends to make those matching Spring, Autumn and Winter tiles, we could play all four seasons on the Eastern Front since Stary already has the matching Sprong, Autumn and Winter terrain features.
  11. Here are some pictures showing the improved Eastern Front with (1) more trees, (2) better cities, Stephen1918's (3) old battlefields and Stephen1918's (4) transition tiles between old and new battlefields.

  16. Did you re-install the game (put into the Win7 Registry) or did you just "copy" over from another HD ??? If you just "copied", that may be your problem because the game needs to be in the Windows Registry.
  17. What I did was convert Stary's WWI terrain to the Eastern Front versus Jan Tuma's. I think Stary's looks a little closer to Eastern Europe than Jan's Tuma's (which looks better for Western Europe IMHO). This way I am able to keep Stephen1918 special Eastern Front tiles in the game. If you use Jan Tuma's terrain, it obliterates Stephen 1918 special tiles, and those are needed to show the true nature of the Eastern Front Campaign versus the Western Front. As soon as I take some in game pictures, I will post the two adaptations I made of Stary's terrain for the Eastern Front. They are titiled "More Trees" and "Most Trees". The main dofferences between the two is "More Trees" has more trees than the standard Cambrai terrain, but still keeps the original Town Buildings. With "Most Trees", I have even more trees than the first version and I have the old walled cities included versus the typical Cambrai cities.
  18. I think you mean SF2 ??? SF1 has been very well categorized for years, it's SF2 that takes forever to wade through..
  19. Bullethead: Looks great. After you are through, you could then try skinning a few of Stephen1918 new FE2 Austrian planes since there is now both an Italian and Eastern Front Campaigns for FE1/2 that we can play.
  20. FE2

The biggest is you get higher FPS because FE2 is programed to use dual core CPU versus FE1 only using a single core CPU . Second is the AI has been tweaked so it is smarter. Third is FE2 uses DX10 versus DX9 for FE1 which allows for better graphic effects. Last, you get all the planes from FEG (FE1 + Exp1) included in FE2. All in all, I completely use my FE2 game and only use my FE1 game to check certain things when I do modding. FE2 is definately worth the cost.
  21. Does anybody out there have a Nieuport 16 LOD that has the shadow bug fixed ??? If you do, please tell me where I can download it or email it to me, please. Thanks.
  22. Nieuport 16 shadow fix

sindbad: Thanks, but that is the exact same Nieuport 16 LOD that I have. The shadow "ray" originates from the upper tip of the Lewis forward bipod mount down to the shadow on the ground. You really do not notice it until you are at least 100 feet or more in the air and then you can see the thin shadow ray down to the shadow on the ground.
  23. Nieuport 16 shadow fix

ataribaby: What is the date on your Nieuport 16 LOD ???
  24. Morane H Russia

    Looks good.
  25. The alternate (like I did) was to convert the YAP targets, cities, bases, etc to GH2. That way you do not mess with any terrain tiles, only text files.
