There is no "Warp" in WOFF, it was "deactivated". They deactivated it because it cause problems in the game since it calculates everything in real time and "warp" messed that up. You can however time advance up to 16x and the autopilot is the same as the game AI (which means it will fight your battles for you like RB3D and IL2) so it will fly you from waypoint to waypoint just like you would.

The terrain "invisable wall" question
Panama Red replied to quack74's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
Wench stated a long time ago that we could expand the borders like thus (remember since TK has not messed with FE2 like SF2, we can still do this): =Adjusting Terrain Borders, aka, a FlightEngine.ini Tweek: The following information has been included in several of my terrain mods, but just for saftey's sake, and so everyone can actually see it, (since few people actually read readmes...), this is the best place to have it readily available. This tweek is usable on ALL 3rd Wire games -SF/WoV/WoE/WoI, the entire SF2 series, and First Eagles 1/2. With some terrain maps available, there is a distinct posibility of hitting "The Wall" when operating from target areas near the 'edges' (N/E/S/W) of the terrain. What you can do, is fiddle with the map borders, but this is a Global Change, and =WILL= effect all terrains. So, as usual BE ADVISED!!!! You must extract the FlightEngine.ini from the FlightDat.cat, place it into your game install's /Flight folder. If, for SF2 users, you DON'T have a /Flight folder in you mods folder, CREATE one!! Then, open it in your text editor of choice, and scroll down until you see this section: [WorldSettings] SectorWidth=20 SectorHeight=20 SectorMaxObject=256 Border=80000.0 <----this here line is The One!!!! MinHeight=1.0 MaxHeight=35000.0 The section we're concerned with is the "Border=". It's set to the standard 80km in from the map edge. While experimentating with this for the KAW mod, I've found you can safely decrease this number to 25000.0 with no ill effects. Just be aware that this will change ALL terrains; stock or addons. So, using a 'safe' number, this is what it should look like (here, I'm using a fairly decent number, and it works just peachy!) [WorldSettings] SectorWidth=20 SectorHeight=20 SectorMaxObject=256 Border=35000.0 <----this here line!!!! Note the change to 35000.0 MinHeight=1.0 MaxHeight=35000.0 This has been tested on just about ALL terrains currently available, and it creates NO difficulties whatsomever. Remember, this is a GLOBAL change, and it WILL effect all terrains in you game install. But, it does 'open up' some usable manuvering room for aircraft, and allows Terrain/Targeteers a bit more leeway in placements wrench kevin stein -
Strange resolution after hitting escape
Panama Red replied to bruceD's topic in Thirdwire - First Eagles 1&2
Yes, Win 7 64 will sometimes have strange happenings when using the "Esc" button at the end of a mission. The only way i found to completely eliminate it was using the "Quite to Desktop" button. -

woff will it run on windows xp
Panama Red replied to perth's topic in WOFF 1 2 3 / UE - General Help
The problem is not if WOFF will run on XP, but the fact that the CFS3.exe that WOFF uses has been modified to recognize 4 GB's of memory due to all the additional objects, planes and graphics. XP only recognizes 2 GB's for games versus Vista x64, Win 7 x64 and Win 8(.1) x64. recognizing up to 16 GB's and you need to additional memory to play WOFF correctly. -
WOFF overpriced. Is it just me?
Panama Red replied to Blackadder33's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Yes, it's just you. They worked 3 years getting the new Phase IV to us. Would you work for that cheap for that long, for that good a product ??? You have obviously not purchased any new flight sims for a while if you think this is to much. -
Since WOFF uses their Summer tiles in the Spring folder, has anybody (with tile painting expertise) thought about converting the WOFF summer tiles to real spring tiles ??? The biggest problem is the spring wheat fields should be a "bright" green versus a golden brown summer wheat field.
-
They look a lot more realistic for spring wheat that the current tiles do. Maybe a little less bright and it should be good to go.
-
Trouble is, these same fields "golden brown" fields are in England and every place else that is suppose to have wheat fields too.
-
Try dropping your "Effects" from "Unlimited" to "High" and that should solve your problem. FE2 does not use "Unlimited" Effects very well.
-
FE or FE2 ??? The reason I ask, is that each game uses a different method to install new weapons.

Install any of the SF2 series games and then install the rest of the series. -
green hell install?
Panama Red replied to rwatson's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Have you read the SF2 "Knowledge Base" yet ??? The reason this why this Base was created, because these questions are asked over and over again. Read: http://combatace.com/topic/62302-what-is-the-mod-folder/ and it should answer some of your questions. -

CombatACE is getting flagged as a dangerous site by McAfee
Panama Red replied to Skyviper's topic in Site Support / Bug Reports / Suggestions
That's only because of the "Pub" area. -
With this terrain, FE/FE2 will be the ONLY WW1 flight game with the Italian Front !!!!! There are no other WW1 flight games (past or present) that have this theatre, so this will be a first.

Does hyperthreading work on SF2 sims; has anyone used an i3 ivy or sandy with SF2?
Panama Red replied to Slant6's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
I have three quad core PCs with SF2/FE2 installed and the most I've ever noticed that SF2/FE2 uses is two cores. -
For those advocating a new patch for FE2, have you considered all the ramifications if TK does update FE2 ??? He has said several times over on TW when asked, that it will most likely break existing mods if he updated the game!!! Currently FE2: 1. Plays very smoothly. 2. Has no major bugs that break the game. 3. Allows you to almost fly the entire map. 4. Is “unlocked” and allows you to mod almost anything in the game. 5. Clouds at correct height. If FE2 is patched like the currently SF2 series: 1. Will not play smoothly (I know because I have both the Jan11 and Jul12 games and where the heavily modded SF2 Jan11 games are as smooth as glass at 60 FPS, the stock SF2 Jul12 games continuously stutter at the same 60 FPS. Both versions are on the same PC, Win7 x64, Intel i7 975, ATI 6970, 12 GB Ram, so it’s not the PC). 2. TK is always “fixing” new bugs for each of his new SF2 patches, and when he does, he always introduces new bugs that have to be “fixed” in the next patch. 3. Has reduced the area that you can fly on the SF2 maps, i.e. the “walls” are further from the edge and you cannot fly to places at the edge of the map like earlier patches, so targets, airfields, etc. are no longer accessible on older maps. 4. Has locked various portions of the SF2 games so you can no longer mod as much as the older SF2 games. 5. Increased the SF2 clouds to double the realistic height, which will definately effect how the game is played. In case you never noticed, FE2 actually blocks the AI and your sight through the clouds (unlike some other flight games) so you can hide in or behind the clouds like in reality. This just proves the old saying that “newer is not always better, just newer”. So my question to all these people who keep asking TK to update the game, why do you want the game updated if it will create more problems than we currently have ??? A. I have seen people ask for an updated naval portion of the game on TW, and I agree that it would be nice. But remember, WW1 air to sea combat was few and far between, so is it worth it to break the rest of the game for something that really did not happen often ??? B. I have also seen where people have asked for the campaign weather to be fixed, I created a mod that would accomplish that without patching the game and it is in the FE2 download section, so again I ask if breaking the game is worth something that already has a work around ??? C. Who is going to go through and update all these “broken mods” that TK says will probably be broke if he updates FE2 ??? There has been thousands of hours put into these mods and some of the original modders are not even active in FE/FE2 anymore, so that just means the rest of us must stop moving forward on new mods to fix old mods, if they can even be "fixed" in the new patch. In closing, I again ask, why do you want to break something that works (FE2) for a couple of items that are not central to a WW1 flight game, even if they would be nice to have ??? Remember one of the greatest strengths of the TW series (SF2/FE2) was the ability to almost mod the game to what ever you wanted, but that has been severally reduced in the currentl SF2 series and I would hate to see that happen for FE2 too.
