I think this question has been asked before, but just for my own peace of mind I think I will give it one more go. Is there any way to get SF1 series games working on Windows 10. Sadly, I upgraded to Windows 10 a few months ago and since then I have been unable to get Wings over Europe SF1 working. I have tried every thing I can think of and every sensible suggestion, but I think the overall reason (as has been suggested) is that the older generation of Strike Fighters games are not compatible with Windows 10. The game runs but it is incredibly poor and eratic, and crashes to desktop are frequent. If any of you guys have got WOE SF1 on your Windows 10 rig and you have got it running well then I would love to know how you have got it set up. Any advice or info would be most welcome. Ah Well.......... I can only continue to dream that one day my desire will be fulfilled. As to when..... is anybody's guess.

I assume this is a model for use with First Eagles 2. Sadly I am still stuck with first generation offerings. Perhaps Stephen 1918 will one day get round to delivering a much better version of this model for use with both FE 1 & FE 2. I think we will have a bit of a wait though, I sent him a personal message a long time ago asking for this particular machine but as usual he was so busy with other projects. I guess if we want to see a good version of this baby we will just have to wait until his workload drops of a bit. (And if you are reading this post Stephen 1918, is there any chance of you bumping this one nearer to the top of your long list.) Please.

But was the accident caused by mechanical failure or pilot error. ??? The sky news report mentions a rain cover may have been injested by the engine, but surely these waterproof plastic engine covers must have been removed by the aircraft fitters and mechanics well before the aircraft even came on deck. !!!

Well, when all is said and done, at least he got out ok. But he seemed to be moving far to slow to make it into the air. !!!

I am reminded of the many photographs of WW2 carrier planes being unceremoniously pushed off the back end of the U.S. carriers when the war in the Pacific was finally over and the ships were on their way home. Maybe in several years time we might find a graveyard of dumped F-35B fighters on the sea-floor which were deep-sixed after it was discovered they were declared 'crap' by their former users and then disposed of accordingly.

Sadly, I have to agree. This new fangled F-35B is not at all what it is hyped up to be. You can dump them off the back of the carrier and deep-six all of them for me !!!

Hi Guys I was wondering if any of you can advise me on a minor issue regarding head movement inside the cockpit. I am currintly flying a Mig-23 (SF1 Generation) and I have noticed that there is quite a bit of up and down movement inside the cockpit when the aircraft you are flying is either diving or ascending. Is there some particular line of data inside an ini file I can alter to reduce the level of up and down movement inside the cockpit. I have noticed that not all aircraft have this problem.

Here is another one for you. I got it from M4T site. A member posted the picture and asked for a suitable caption. I think my caption sums up the situation pretty well. GET THE HELL OUT OF IT !!!!!!!!!

Thanks very much for your information Geary. It is worth taking a look at some of the things you have suggested. I might just get lucky and get things running well again , enough to add all my SF1 aircraft which I have got stored in a storage file. I think it is worth a shot. I will start with installing Direct X 9 and progress from there. I think it is the old story, SF1 is not really compatible with the latest versions of Windows.

Yes Spinners been a while since my last visit, had totally lost WOE. Well I got the game back up and running but the Frame Rate is very poor. It is not really playable as it is. But at least it is working again. Any suggestions of how to improve Frame Rate. I have adjusted the graphics settings down to a moderate level but I don't want to go any lower as I am loosing image quality.

That Soviet Su-152 is one magnificent mega sized beast. !!!!! Frikking Behemoth sized gun. !!!! You could probably squeeze a small child down the barrel. !!!!! Not something you would want to mess with if you were in a bog standard Panzer III or IV !!!! Maybee if I was in a Tiger 1 with my trusty 88 mm, I might not shit my pants at the sight of it trundling down the road towards me with that big fat gun pointed right at me. If I got lucky and put a round into the rear engine compartment I think I would be okay. !!!! Phew !!!!! what will those frikking Ruskies come up with next. !!!!

Somehow I can see the fuel-line being chopped up by the propeller. Is it just me being paranoid. !!!!

I recently had a few problems with my existing computer and I have decided to upgrade to Windows 10 whilst I am having the repairs done. Might I ask you guys here at Combat Ace if First Eagles 1(First Generation ) runs okay on Windows 10. Thanks in advance for any advice or information you can offer. Cheers RUSTY

Well I have installed Windows 10 on my new rig and got it working okay, but sadly I have lost First Eagles. I have tried various suggestions from posts which I read at this site but sadly, it will not run anymore. The game will open and display but when I create a mission and try to load it, the whole game crashes to desktop. Any more ideas or useful suggestions will be gratefully received. Thanks in advance.
