Have recently heard about this game and seen a few screenshots of ships and a submarine from the game at this site. Has anyone played it yet and does it handle anything like Silent Hunter. ???

Intriguing story of the Argentine Navy’s attempt to acquire ex Israeli A-4E Ayit towards the end of the Falklands War

Great story dtmdragon and great screenshots. Thanks for posting. -
This is nothing unusual really, it's just like me buying a high performance car like a Porsche or a Ferrari but on a much grander scale. I currently own and run a Suzuki Alto which has a small 1.0 litre engine which sometimes struggles to power the car uphill, but imagine me trading that in for a high - performance supercar, it would be mind blowing. Probably better than sex at my age.

It's nice to see that the Dagger is being kept in good condition same as the dog.

RUSTYMORLEY replied to dsawan's topic in IL-2 Series / Pacific Fighters / Cliffs of Dover: General Discussion
This looks good, if only we could have this in IL-2 1946 as well. -

Whilst we are on the subject of upgrading to Windows 10, can anyone tell me if Strike Fighters series 1 games will run with Windows 10. The reason I ask is - the last time I upgraded from Windows 7 to 8.1 - I lost some of my games which would not function with 8.1 and I don,t want to risk losing any of my games again. !!!

Is there anywhere else I can download mods from?
RUSTYMORLEY replied to Kermanint's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
Combat Ace is without doubt the best site for Mods aircraft for the Strike Fighters series. So what if there is a limit to the number of aircraft you can download in a day, be patient and use the time to enjoy and fly your new 6 aircraft, perhaps even produce some new skins for these aircraft and give something back to the community. The Modders and Skinners at this site are some of the best around and I very much appreciate their generous work and I consider it a priviledge to download a new plane or a new skin from this site and then add it to my game. My only regret is that I am not very good at computer stuff and unable to do what these guys do. I consider myself lucky to be a member here and enjoy what is on offer, it is without doubt the best place to be for Strike Fighters aircraft Mods, skins, updates, patches and military aviation news etc. -
I know what's missing - a portable, disposable Rocket Launcher. !!!!

From time to time I have found that the forums which can be found here at this site can prove to be an invaluable source of information and good advice. And I thank the members at this site for answering my posts and indeed putting up their own concerns in the various forums. Now I have another issue which I would like to post. I am the privileged owner of a somewhat older cat which I judge to be about 11-13 years old. His whiskers are grey and he moves a lot slower these days but for the most part he seems content and has a good appetite for chicken and special cat biscuits. Over the last winter and sometime before that I have noticed that he is sleeping a great deal more and staying put in his favorite chair which just happens to be my computer chair, and as a result of this I find myself having to sit on an old stool which sits in the corner of my spare bedroom. I just wondered if there are any members out there who have older cats living at home which seem to spend around 12 or more hours sleeping per day, going out at night for an hour or so to do their business and have a look around. I guess what I am asking is do you find that your older cats if you have any, spend most of their time asleep and is it common for them to stay indoors most of the time. Any replies or comments will be gratefully received. Thanks. RUSTYMORLEY

Okay thanks for your posts, it seems that cats have different behaviour patterns and personality traits similar to humans and as such have different lifestyles as well. Mine is asleep just about all day long and then goes out at night just for an hour or so to have a sniff around and do his business on someonelse's garden. Thanks again for your posts and replies. Aside from the mushy love story crap, I thought the film was okay. Like Kate Beckinsale a lot, If you have you seen her in the Underworld series of films, then you will know what I mean.......

Agree, the birds could be hurt by rotating propeller blades, and even killed it the drone is very large and has powerful propeller motors. This needs to be looked at more. I am suprised that the RSPCA or the RSPB have not stepped in to stop this already. I am amazed at some peoples view of animals - that they are there to be exploited and used just for our benefit and it don't matter if a few birds get killed or maimed. !!!!! This should be stopped before some birds get maimed. !!!!

Favorite engine sounds?
RUSTYMORLEY replied to Spudknocker's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
I have to say that I have done exactly what you have done Spudknocker, I have looked at almost all of my jet engine sounds and changed them so as they sound more realistic. I downloaded a sound pack from this site and added a further few sounds to my sounds file. It seems to make a difference and adds to the realism. I have also added Dirty jet exhaust fumes to most of my aircraft. My appreciation to the authors of the sound packs, Spillone104, Rover and Signum and many others which I sampled. -
The A-4 Skyhawk is small, nippy, packs a good punch relative to it's size and was capable of giving most jet fighters a hard time, and as such is one of my favourite aircraft, no matter who is in the pilots seat. I have added several versions of the A-4 to my Strike Fighters Wings over Europe game, including the two seat trainer variants.

I don't know about you but Adware seems to be able to get through my Norton Protection Software. My computer is currently infested with the stuff and even though I have used Norton Power Eraser, it doesn't seem to clear all of it away. Can any of you guys recommend a means of getting rid of the damn stuff altogether.
-
Just to let you all know - I was able to clear my rig of all the crappy Adware which was interfering in the running of my system. Thanks for posting the links for the free Malware Bytes download. Thanks guys. !!
-
Thanks for your replies guys, I have installed Malware bytes from a free download site which was posted here. Thanks again to all of you for your advice and help. Now to get rid of that Adware crap on my system.....

I had no idea that there was a convention dedicated to Godzilla and associated memorabilia. I must have been living under a rock for the last few years. !!!!

Oh yes those were the days, I was enthralled by both of the Sci Fi series. I was in my last year of school and sat in front of the TV eagerly awaiting the next epic space battle with the Cylons (Galactica) or the Draconian forces (Buck Rogers). Science fiction had just been given a massive boost by the release of the first Star Wars movie which came to British movie screens in 1977. I just couldn't get enough of it.

Sad news indeed, if I am correct he used to do drugs in his early career and he was spaced out for a while until he got himself together again and started to come up with more hits. I knew that he had health issues but cancer is one thing you have got to fight hard to get rid of and it seems that he lost his 18 month battle with this disease. I believe that he was also a heavy smoker during the more stressful parts of his life and that does'nt help. One of my old mates at work died through lung cancer which was brought on by smoking, the cancer had spread from his lungs into nearby tissues and he was his hanging on to life for about a year or so before he keeled over. He used to frequently say to me ''Rusty don't ever ever do drugs or take up smoking, that's what has done me in '' he was crying when he said it, because he knew he was finished. So very sad. Rest in Peace David Bowie, you were an icon and a genius.
