  2. yes you should, see the _HM tile-specific maps might turn out to be in fact ESSENTIAL to terrain, despite what Wrench thinks (as he allways repaints them grey) we had talk with Nils (Julhelm) a while back and looking at the max scene of ripped SF2 environment Fubar or Russo posted it occured to us the terrains in general are generated procedurally (that is important bit for the future) -a think that I also noticed doing higer resolution (64px vs original 16px _HMs) _HMs for my latest Korea repaint -the higher resolution _HM files generate higher resolution terrain mesh near the camera. So yes, try experimenting with 64x64 _HM files for islands Kferge, I strongly encourage you to do so. in fact for my new hires tileset I work now on I plan to introduce _HM files for every single tile to check the possible improvements in quality of terrain meshes; all the DEM30 data resolution limitations aside -but that is something I plan to have a closer look at in the future too

I think the trick would be to be applied AS THE VERY VERY LAST thing to be done to such map EVER -after all the heightmap and tilemap adjustments/placements etc (targetareas and such not counting as these have zero impact o nthe terrain mesh) I think that would require exporting the heightmap to bitmap via Gerwin's tool (NOT! the Thirdwire Terain Editor) and -> reimporting in Gerwin's editor&save

  7. I see some odd HFD mesh oddities there, like we have had with Korea3 terrain, I think in some cases it's un-fixable..? Wrench is the man to clarify thou I'll go and do 50s ADA campaign with all the early jet pits I do now
  8. No I was refering to the Su-17//22 question, I have the beta max file Veltro started working on ages ago, I just don't plan Vautour at this exact moment but further down the road
  9. that is a plan, at least the Ouragan is in the initial works, viva Armée de l'Air! the one thing that bugs me regarding Ouragans I have seen some pictures and reports of Ouragan interiors being originally painted in the pre/WW2-style dark blue tones and later repainted with jet black in the units but must verify that, Mysteres for sure were black from get go (yet earlier ones, IIC prior to IV were almost 95% identical to Ouragans' -think of MiG-15bis vs MiG-17 cockpit differences which there are almost none)

  15. move the position of text fields outside of the defined screen boundaries? Can't say anything more from top of my head now but there shuold be entry defining corners of the screen and positions of relevant HUD data in regards to the space

  17. Welcome gitrdun! as said above, your "el chapo" card seems to lack shader model 4.0 thus no DX10 eyecandies. So yes best way as Do335 said would be to use Gerwin's port of Iceland into older Dx9 friendly format, that version should work ok
  18. Kevin I noticed on some of your _targets.ini files you tend to set the biggest possible effects for smallest structures, this might cause visual oddities
