  1. I'm downloading Air&Ground War Expansion, will test tomorrow
  2. I think I don't understand your question Canadair? In what expansion pack terrains? In Vietnam Air and Ground War Expansion by Eburger68? Honestly I don't know, you might have some targets placed in trees etc. Give it a try, I don't have this expansion installed at the moment
  3. Where can one download "Near Space" map? I've been searching all day download section without any luck... seriously, that pic blown me away when I saw it on FB
  4. Surely it does, with few "enhancements" here and there, generally more trees in the fields, late addition, but looks quite good IMO. And to all: sorry for many annoying typos in the readme, was written in the late night
  5. thanks guys, I should add that this mod should work without any problems in series1
  6. Piecemeal this is a must have mod! Again, thank you
  7. Green Hell 3

    Version

    2,333 downloads

"GREEN HELL 3" Strike Fighters2:Vietnam map modification. Designed for stock SF2:Vietnam VietnamSEA and Modern Darwin map by Wrench Apart from these, should work with older maps using WoV/SF2:V tileset -Burma, Philippines etc in every sim from the series apart FE. Credits: Wrench, for Modern Darwin map, that forced me to do something with stuff dusting on my hdd Also for screens templates, used to create optional menu screens. ShrikeHawk -I think ajusted environmentsytem is based on his work. Combat Ace -self explanatory, you guys rock! TK, Thirdwire -for still giving me fun and bugs altogether. This is version 3.0 of my Green Hell mod for SF2:V After doing some work for Wrench's Darwin map, I decided to go fullscale, re-use my older tileset, finish the tod files, adjust several things and release this as part three. In comparision to previous incarnations of the mod that relied on fabulous tileset by Brain32, this one uses different tileset, based on stock one, thus changing the look significantly if you're familiar with GH series. My goal was to create universal tileset for South East Asia terrains. Also, as with every new patch old rendering bugs remain unchanged [:(] I decided to change the way of populating tiles, whidh is clearly visible in the jungle areas. No more large clusters of trees, replaced with smaller individual trees to minimize the possibility of rendering errors. As a bonus included are new environment system (based on great fork by ShrikeHawk) with reduces size of clouds and increased minimum altitude of these, to further minimize famous "trees vs clouds" rendering errors. Also I added new menu screens with GH3 theme I use in my SF2V install.
  8. Really Zur, I completely can't agree with you sir. The "lite sim" crowd is the crowd that wants pretty graphics as a complete package, not limited to the airframes. Pretty accurate planes are great as long as they aren't rendered in front of blurry featureless background. The main reason I perceive Wings Of Prey as the best WW2 gaming experience currently available is the complexity and believability of the whole image. And it's mainly achieved by "just" nice repeatable textures, oversized trees, and real life cities with few filters thrown ontop of it. As Jules says, and he knows that better than most of guys here, coding few postprocessing shaders doesn't take weeks, but days. Templates of these are available for free on the net. For commercial use. Or, the other way around: If you care only about accurate planes and don't care about the rest, that means you're not much into "lite sim". Then let the planes be as accurate as possible systems wise. Since when we can shut the engine? WOI?
  9. New Year's Resolutions!

    Less booze, more (unreadable)
  10. unless there's nowhere else to go FC... I'm quite happy with what we have, but and I think most of oldtimers want the same, just fixes for really old bugs. One example -radio call to turn radar off, it's been there on the list doing nothing since I run WoV for the very first time in early 2005. Never explained, never fixed, never doing anything other than giving "Unable" from wingman. And I'll definitely buy Tomcat sim when it's out, whatever the core changes may or rather may not be. I hope we'll have it this year, you see Harold, it's that strange love-hate relationship I experienced with only one other sim in the past. Janes' ATF, some fourteen years ago
  11. That's true, it's not meant for (excellent) Air and ground war expansion, but for those who either keep their installs clean or jump in from time to time without having separate install etc, but would like better ground environment. But of course tileset, based on stock layout, is somewhat new, rescaled to 512 and repainted here and there, with wet and dry seasons and new tods layout...
  12. "Me - I like sleeping Specially in my Molly's chamber" Nice work Eric
  13. Basically, yes it's the distance at which given LOD shows up in game.
  14. EAW had little animated sprite-based people running from destroyed APCs or churhes. And pilots under chutes. And (later) custmizable true 3D trees and houses using 3dz format...
  15. I bribed TK, it WILL be Jaguarrrr you like it or not... oh wait, that was a dream Seems it will be F1, I can live with that
  16. I think these, aswell as Viggen, are DATs, if so uploading them here is a NOGO I you have only one LOD, your ini is correct, but go ahead, set the number higher, I'd say 500 (meters), these pods should be quite visible is such distance
  17. Happy New Year...

Happy New Year! May the Force be with you all. Every single day.
  18. File Name: Postprocess shader tweaks File Submitter: Stary File Submitted: 30 December 2010 File Category: SF2 Patches and Tools Postprocess shader tweaks FOR STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 DirectX 10 ONLY! Made for and tested in SF2 all titles merged with Expansion Packs 1&2 (but should work with any SF2 title) version 1.0 30.12.2010 This is set of modified Thirdwire postprocess shader variants that change the appearance of Strike Fighters 2. This mod works only in Strike Fighters 2 in Dx10 mode. Also you need to set your effects detail to unlimited for this shader to display! Please note that when using sepia, fake night vision and black&white shaders, various on-screen elements (like gunsight, HUD, radar display box and text) are still displayed unchanged. These are processed using different own shaders. Included are several variants, with various color corrections (old film, sepia, black and white, light green, nightvision) and various strenghts of screen vignetting. Click here to download this file
  19. I should add that the Wings of Prey-style "old film" filter is the main purpose of making this mod, others are "just" variations I did for fun, but light green and high contrast blue are also interesting
  20. because terrain doesn't rely on alpha channel to render transparency, but trees and the like do
  21. I think yes but only using EnbSeries (which I think is no longer in development), thus in Dx9 only
  22. various variants uploaded into SF2 tools and utilities section, pending approval one with included code for SSAO for someone with skills to implement it properly
