Good idea regarding the GFD12s Wrench, and thank you for the info regarding orientation reference. I'm going to mess around a bit with these but its taking away from flying time. I can see how mod builders can get burned out with working the details of these additions. I hope one day there is a "user friendly" tool like the 'SwampBast' tool mentioned in the forums for object placement. Thanks again for your feedback and fantastic support of these air combat sims NIELS Thanks Gepard - Super job on the several different base builds. Yes these are fine additions and cool 'workable' bases for both the SF2, and Wox_V2 series. Again, I wish there was a more 'user friendly' tool for object placement............Maybe someday. Thanks again for the feedback - much appreciated, NIELS

Finally got them up and running. Took some fine tuning (checking). They are a bit sparse regarding objects, lights etc. They do look more like the European bases I've seen. Your right Wrench, the runway number signs are off regarding taxiway orientation, but everything else appears to be in proper direction. With a little object populating they should be a good addition to the WOE_V2 terrain. Thanks again for your feedback Wrench......Always appreciated. Vr NIELS

Thanks Wrench & Mig Buster for your quick replies and dedication to this series, Specifically, I was hoping to find the base target 'builds' ie. [TargetObjectXXX] in the associated XXX_Target.ini and XXX_TYPE.ini entries. Possibly available in a mod, or one of the SF2, Wox series sim's. Just wondering if these builds from the attached pic's were already completed or available in a terrain add on or mod pak? Appreciate the detailed info regarding my question Wrench, your knowledge, support, and dedication to these series are outstanding! VR NIELS

There was an entry in one of the .ini's which allowed travel across terrain in cockpit to view/check object placement in order to verify coordinates and height of the item. I cannot remember which ini file it is. I think it was a matter of changing a 'TRUE' or 'FALSE' value in the ini entry. Could one of the gurus or anyone 'in the know' provide the ini info? It would be much appreciated Thanks, NIELS

Operation Odyssey Dawn
NIELS replied to Peugeot205's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mission & Campaign Building Discussion
I have down loaded and installed per the directions/readme. Every time I try to fly a single mission the sim freezes/locks up when the plane is 500' altitude? I installed all modds to appropriate folders. Current EXE is SF2_WOE. I have tried SF2.exe and SF2_NA.exe also. I'm also installing the folders into a 'merged install' - Same results?............Please help. Vr NIELS -
Just wondering if there is a 'sand bag' era revetment for the Korean Air War campaign? The SEA series are not historically representative for this time frame. Also is anyone working on a Boeing B-50 or KB-50 Superfortress for this series? Would be a cool/great addition to the SF2, WOx series. Just a couple requests from a SF2 flier with no modd skills or tech.

From the pictures and books I've read regarding the Korean Air War of 1950 -1953, both wall and 'U' type revetments were present at various dirt and steel planked bases. Thank you Wrench for a great endeavor completing the KAW campaign. It is such a good (specific targeted) addition! I was just hoping/wondering if there was an object of this nature available for realism/immersion effect. Regarding the B, KB-50 request - This was just a personal request and with all due respect regarding your fantastic modds..........The B-50 version was a great asset pending medium jet bomber arrival during the SAC cold war era. The KB-50 tanker model performed a great need along with KC-97's until a jet tanker was available. I think there is a *.ini workaround somewhere that enables fuel onload/offload when pulling up to an 'eye candy' tanker? Maybe not as realistic as actual hookups but more realistic than no tanker support. The KB-50 worked hard into the 60's and 70's with Air Reserve units until its retirement. Thank you again Wrench for your hard work and sacrifice to bring us a great addition to the SF1, and 2 series air combat sims..........Much appreciated! Vr NIELS

I have installed all required mod items from the SF2 OTC package. All aircraft appear in the drop down list except for Capuns optional E-1B, C-2A, and P-3A. I followed the *.LOD instructions regarding the downloaded 'A-team' packages......Still no joy? Everything works fine except for these acft. not showing. Is it because they are SF1 only models or are they for AI purpose only. Thanks for the outstanding work on this campaign! NIELS

Thanks for the response Eric and sorry for the late reply. I installed what I thought were the most up to date files from the current SF2 series download section. Don't know if the problem could be do to the July 2013 SF2 series update from Thirdwire or my fault? I worked on the install for quite a while yesterday..........Got a little delirious towards the end. I think I might be having a bit of trouble understanding the readme inst. regarding SF2 placement of 'mods' and such in all the different locations. I'll try again later. Thanks, Marty Nielsen (NIELS)

Download updates specifics since site upgrade? Please help
NIELS posted a topic in Site Support / Bug Reports / Suggestions
This question may be pretty goofy considering my time frame on this web site. I have been a Combat Ace fan almost since its beginning but I'm still clueless to what the updates really mean. I know when checking new content in the past, only the newest/latest additions to the site were a player. But since the latest hardware upgrade to the site I'm not sure all the latest updates require another download. Many I have saved the last few days since file download area completion, I already have (same title and version). Could I get a clarification on the latest uploads/updates please? I'm spending a bit too much time re-downloading files I think I already have. Much appreciated - Fantastic site as always - Keep up the great work! Thanks Combat ACE Team NIELS -
