  6. View File K-AWSM Sound Manager (by G42) K-AWSM by G42 Requirements -Air Warrior 3 Must be installed -SAC Must be installed -12mb free HD space (For Original Sound backup) For those that only fly in 2D that wish to use this software and therefore do not have SAC you will still need to download and install the main SAC v1.1d (or later) program as it contains all the system files required for K-AWSM to work, I did not include these files with K-AWSM purposely to save everyone having to re-download the same files all over again Installation 1) Unzip the contents of K-AWSMbv1.zip to a temporary directory and run Setup.exe, unlike SAC you can install to any directory. If you are using the Upgrade then just unzip the contents of the file into the directory you originally installed to, if you can't remember then run K-awsm and click on the Explorer button. 2) Once installed load up K-AWSM from the icon on your Desktop and from the options menu select "Backup Original Sounds" (or Ctrl B), until you have done this most of the functions will be unavailable so as to prevent you from having to do a large download if you make a mistake. Once this is completed you may proceed to step 3 3) You should see a list of files in the left hand list, if not then make sure the sound zips are in the K-AWSM directory not the Extracted directory, select any of these and you will see a description of its contents, to install any of these simply click on "Import Selected Sound/s", the new sounds will be imported into AW almost instantly which will be confirmed by a message in the lower part of the screen. You can now fire up AW and try them out. To Create Your Own Sounds 1) From the Options menu select "Extract Sounds" 2) Click On the Explorer button which will take you to your K-AWSM directory 3) There should be a folder called "Extract", go into this Folder 4) Here you will see all the .raw files extracted from AW, open Goldwave and open any of these .raw files, A box will pop up asking for the sound format, leave it set to 8 bit, Mono11025khz and click OK. 5) the total length of the sound is the total length you must stick to, if your new sound is made shorter you will get clicking when played in AW, if its longer the end will be chopped off but it should still be OK. You can either alter this sound, paste in a new one or create a new one from scratch but bear in mind if you do the latter you have to save it to the correct filename as found in the extract directory and save in the correct format. 6) To add your new sound save it in the Test directory off of your K-AWSM directory, once there from the options menu select Test and the sound will be added to AW. Once you are happy with your sound package it up into a zip file along with a File_id.diz description file then upload it for us all to hear Gamestorm Patch In the event of an AW3 patch as with SAC its wise to use the "Restore Original Sounds" button before downloading the patch, if the patch contains new sounds (which is unlikely) then delete the zip file from your K-AWSM\Backup directory then re-run K-awsm and the Backup the new files as in step 2 of the Installation above. Support This software is still in Beta and is far from completed, my time is limited but I will continue to update and add new Sounds and functions whenever possible, if you have any problems with running K-AWSM and you have followed these instructions and are confident that SAC is functioning correctly (see the SAC page for common problems for those that don't) then I will be happy to assist in finding a solution although I may take a few days to get back to you with work commitments etc. Disclaimer: I will not accept or be held responsibile for any loss of data or damage caused by this software, you use it at your own risk. This software is not supported or endorsed by Kesmai, Gamestorm or anyone else affiliated with Air Warrior so please do not contact them for support enquiries regarding K-AWSM. 7. View File Scenario Aircraft Converter (SAC) (by Kraits / G42 / ?) What is Scenario Aircraft Converter (SAC)? SAC is a program developed by members of the Krait's Squadron and other members of the old "Air Warrior" Game Community that allows users to customize the terrain and plane bit maps within Air Warrior if they are using a 3d graphics card and DirectX. Using SAC, you can change the appearance of Air Warrior aircraft markings and camouflage from the defaults, to actual aircraft markings used by units of that era, with correct camouflage patterns, colors, and badgework. You can also change the terrain backgrounds, sky and sea, to match the look of Midway in 1942 or the Battle of Britain, Pearl Harbor, or any other number of air warfare scenarios. You want a terrain with Snow? Desert? Forests? Sac has it, and makes it easy to change within seconds even from within the game, and can be used online (see note below in the install introduction)) as well as offline. How do I install SAC? Follow the step by step instructions on this page. You may wish to print it as a reference. First, make sure you have either the old Air Warrior 3 box version game or the EA AW Millennium update to it already installed. Next, click on the link below to download the SAC installer to a temporary location on your computer. Sac supports both the original AW3 box version and the EA AW3MV version if you were an old online player and had updated it. The EA MV version if it was updated over an existing AW3 box version also supports the stand-alone offline missions as a separate game. Note: It is now not possible to play on-line in the multi-player version as the AW hosts are now defunct, though single head to head play over a LAN or over the Internet is still possible. Download sacv11full.exe here. (Size: 2,938,138 bytes) Once sacv11full.exe is downloaded to your machine, double-click it to launch the SAC installer. The installer will ask you which directory you would like to install to. It is recommended that SAC is installed to the same drive letter as Air Warrior (for example, if Air Warrior is installed to your C drive, then SAC should be installed to the C drive). An update patch to SAC must also be downloaded and installed to work with the EA AW Millennium Version. This patch converts the SAC interface to version Sac1.3MV and contains the update to work with the AW3Millenium Version and the new AW Sound Manager and Sac View. An update to Sound Manager from G42s Sound Manager web site is also required for those who wish to use the AW Sound Manager/Sac Seek integrated with Sac 1.3MV. Click on the link below to download the SAC update to a temporary location on your computer. Note: Existing users of Sac may use this update file to upgrade to Sac1.3MV version, revert all terrains and aircraft to default before installation then follow the standard instructions below. Download SACMV13.exe patch here. ( Size: 202,630 bytes) Once SACMV13.exe is downloaded to your machine, double-click it to launch the SAC updater. Make sure you install it into your main SAC directory using the browse button, or change the path. The installer will ask you if you want to replace your old sac.exe with the new one. Click 'Yes.' Once the Sac install is complete and you have now updated it with the patch, you must REBOOT Your Computer before running the SAC program so that the registry is updated. Now launch SAC (Before you attempt to customize any of the Air Warrior art) as you need to back up the original Kesmai art. You must do this so that Sac will revert artwork correctly to Kesmai default when required. To do this, follow each step below: Launch SAC from the Scenario Aircraft Converter folder in your Start Menu, or from the Desktop Shortcut. On the menu at the top of Sac click on VERSION. Select the AW3.5MV version of air warrior if you have that version as it will have have opened in the box version AW3 mode by default, so if you have "only" AWMV installed on your PC an error message that it cannot find an "ini file" will be seen -no problemo! Select the AWMV version so that a tick is opposite the MV entry and then close Sac again. On re-starting Sac from your Start menu or Shortcut the MV version will be your default and should now work correctly with AWMV. Click the Red Button that says 'Post AW Patch Check Back-Up.' A large button with yellow/black bands and a Warning sign will appear on the right side of the window that says 'Create/Renew Back-Up.' Click it. A dialog will come up asking 'Are You Sure You Want To Continue?' Click 'Yes.' Your computer will be busy for a few moments backing up the art. When it is done, a message will appear in the SAC window stating "Backup Complete." If you have both the old AW3 and the AWMV versions available, and you wish to use Sac for both, switch the version in the menu bar in Sac, close Sac, and then reopen in your chosen version and run the backup again. Default art for both versions are stored in separate files in your Sac directory. You are now ready to install planes and terrain art listed below to Sac unless you want to install the optional "dibs" MV1.4 patch first. This is for advanced users who have available alternative dibs screens. Frequently Asked Questions and Help on SAC If you have any problems, need help, or have general questions about Sac read the Sac History and FAQ page which has solutions and answers to the most common questions before asking for help by mail: SacFAQ.html -click here! Optional MV1.4 Patch for Advanced Sac Users This new patch provides support for changing the dibs screens in AWMV. These are both the screens you see in Rooms, and also the thumbnails when loading aircraft. An additional button with this patch is provided in the Terrains screen for Backdrops. With AWMV selected in the Sac version, automatic backup of existing backdrops is made when Sac is started, and also a new Backdrops folder is created. The new backdrop files should be placed as zip files in the Backdrops folder for selection, and can be reverted with the normal terrain revert function.Follow the instructions on the install file when run. If any backdrops have been changed manually before this patch, revert to Kesmai default before installing the patch. Download SACv14mv.EXE (Size:225,953 bytes ) Install similarly as per the 1.3 Patch. Example Test Backdrops install file for the upcoming Nieman Scenario (VVS) courtesy of Tilt. Download Test NiemanVVS.exe Download and Run this file, "browse" and extract contents to the new Backdrops folder in Sac. Submitter MarkEAW Submitted 03/16/2026 Category Managers

Latest News 10th September 2001 It is with regret that I must close this site. I haven't had time to further develop SAC or K-AWSM and haven't flown AW since EA took over so its time to put this project to rest. I'd like to thank everyone for their feedback and support over the years and hope that these utilities have been useful. I will leave this site up for a while longer in case theres anyone that still wants the files. 12th November 2000 SAC View version 0.5 Released Download and run it once so that it adds its path to the registry, this will enable the new version of K-AWSM and SAC to call it. Sac View is a little utility I knocked up during a lunch break last week its main purpose is to display all the aircraft skins that are currently set (In AW3.1x or AW MV) on one screen. If you double click on any aircraft it will load it into your default BMP editor, if you hold the mouse over an image a tooltip will tell you the name of the aircraft and file. Each aircraft will also be checked to make sure that it is no greater than 256 colours which would cause AW to display it incorrectly. Eventually I'm planning to adapt it to replace SAC Seek (Within K-AWSM) but in its current form it may prove useful in conjunction with SAC. SAC version 1.3 MV Released Fixed error in EST time clock SAC can now load K-AWSM & Sac View (F3 & F2) All skins will now stay flipped if SAC is minimized SAC v1.3 MV will also be available from its homepage http://www.airwar.org.uk/filestor.html shortly. Owners of FireGL cards will want to be sure this box is checked. Please see ReadMe3D.txt for more details. - There is now a slider on the Performance tab of the User Preferences dialog that allows users to adjust the render cache size, which might have an effect on framerate on some cards. Please see ReadMe3D.txt for more details. - Buffeting now works in AWIII in both hardware and software rendering. - F3 tracking now works on the overhead map. - A text formatting error in the F3 tracking display which could cause the range to not be displayed for friendly aircraft with short CPIDs has been corrected. - A problem with the find user feature has been corrected. The appearance of the film dialog is now delayed until you are in the conference room. - A bug which could cause planes to become transparent within 200 yards has been corrected. A side effect is that the backgrounds of some animations may not be transparent if your 3D card drivers do not have DirectX 5.0 support. * See 3.00c * ======================================================================== Version 3.00a 12/9/97 ======================================================================== General: - The sound dialog is now usable in the online-only build. - A possible cause of invisible planes in flight has been addressed. NOTE - If you encounter an invisible plane with this version of the front end, please make a detailed report to the bugs news group or to aw3@kesmai.com - Changes have been made to the 3D rendering code to address the problem of aircraft being difficult to see at mid range (600-1200 yards). - A bug causing aircraft to disappear when sitting on certain runways has been corrected. - The information in the automated online scenarios group selection dialog is now properly formated in columns. - A bug which could cause you to become the Unknown User has been corrected. This usually occured if you entered an arena, went out to the arena selection dialog, then returned to that same arena. - The briefing room map will now center on Waypoint 0, which may not be at the home airfield for automated online scenarios. - The hardness of the Me110 in offline mission has been reduced. - One cause of a flashing line on the left side of the 3D view on some 3D accelerator cards, include the Monster 3D, has been corrected. - Damaged airfields are now corrected colored orange (not yellow) in both 2D and 3D modes. - Force feedback effects for stall and for gear down buffet have been enhanced. Offline Missions: - Drone speech for ditching and returning to base has been improved. - New drone speech has been added for final approach and landing. - Two new drone commands have been added: STATUS and POSITION. Usage: '[group id] STATUS All drones in the group will report damage, fuel, ammo and bomb load. If no group ID is specified, it defaults to the group you are leading or flying with. '[group id] POSITION All drones in the group will report sector, heading, altitude and airspeed. If no group ID is specified, it defaults to the group you are leading or flying with. View File Air Warrior III Patch 3.12 Air Warrior III Patch 3.12 a3gd312.zip 21.22MB This patch updates videogame Air Warrior III adding support for higher resolutions in 3dfx mode ====================================================================== NEW FEATURES AND BUG FIXES IN AIR WARRIOR(r) III V3.12 ====================================================================== New Features ---------------------------------------------------------------------- - A new, large scale European terrain - one designed to fully support strategic bombing and resupply - has been added. - The spin model has been reworked to prevent its use as an offensive air combat maneuver. - Air Warrior III now supports higher resolutions in 3D hardware acceleration mode. This will only work, however, with 3D cards that support higher resolutions. - The frame rate counter (evoked by OD in-flight) now operates in all cockpit view modes. The counter appears in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. - The host now supports a range of hardness values at each airbase. Previously, buildings at an airfield could be set as destructible or indestructible. Now the buildings at each airbase have a possible ten step hardness range, from soft (1) to hard (9). The setting for indestructible (0) is unchanged. - The Saitek Cyborg 3D Digital stick is now supported. - The Logitech WingMan Interceptor stick is now supported. Bug Fixes ---------------------------------------------------------------------- - The Air Warrior III spin model has been fixed to work properly on Pentium II and faster computers. - Flap and throttle indicators now work correctly under all screen resolutions. - A minor memory leak has been plugged. - Fixed bug that caused 3D graphics to display on only the upper quarter of the screen on Voodoo 3 and riva tnt boards. Hardcoded offsets for screen clipping were wrong. This apparently was ignored by DX5, but DX6 drivers paid attention to this value. - A German Error string was translated from English to German in the German language version. - A Kate no longer carries a lower turret position; it never had one. - Gunners no longer jump with their ammo out of bombers. - Bridges resurrection works properly now. - In the course of testing higher resolutions in 3D mode, we discovered that maximum in-flight resolution was limited to desktop resolution. You could not select a game resolution higher than the resolution of your desktop. We removed this restriction in 3D mode. This limit is still in effect, however, for software rendering mode.
