INTERACTIVE MAGIC Kesmai Studios Air Warrior III aw3ptch1.exe 2.07MB ======================================================================== Version 3.00d 1/5/98 ======================================================================== General: - Fixed a problem with the first digit of the radio gauge on the full screen dash - Fixed the jumping sector counter problem, for good this time. - The Radar Counters are now updated after you drag the map in the Sitmap. Before, you would only get counters in the center 16x16 sectors of the terrain. This wasn't a problem in the smaller terrains, but it was in Oceania. As a side effect, a single-click on the map will update the counters. - You will now get a full screen dash with the default cockpit art. Of course, you still don't get full screen dash when you do have the cockpit art, but not the corresponding *.ds_ file. - Disconnecting from the host is now treated as a fatal error. - The disconnect dialogs are now displayed for a limited time before the game shuts down. - A bug which could cause buildings to remain invisible after they were repaired has been corrected. - Bombs will no longer sink islands online. Host: - Craters now appear where the bombs hit. ======================================================================== Version 3.00c 12/16/97 ======================================================================== General: - There is now a checkbox on the Performance tab of the User Preferences dialog to control the Color-Key feature. Owners of FireGL cards will want to be sure this box is checked. Please see ReadMe3D.txt for more details. - There is now a slider on the Performance tab of the User Preferences dialog that allows users to adjust the render cache size, which might have an effect on framerate on some cards. Please see ReadMe3D.txt for more details. - Buffeting now works in AWIII in both hardware and software rendering. - F3 tracking now works on the overhead map. - A text formatting error in the F3 tracking display which could cause the range to not be displayed for friendly aircraft with short CPIDs has been corrected. - A problem with the find user feature has been corrected. The arena name in the results dialog is now correct, and the go to arena function works. ======================================================================== Version 3.00b 12/12/97 ======================================================================== General: - The invisible film dialog bug which affects users of certain 3D cards has been corrected. The appearance of the film dialog is now delayed until you are in the conference room. - A bug which could cause planes to become transparent within 200 yards has been corrected. A side effect is that the backgrounds of some animations may not be transparent if your 3D card drivers do not have DirectX 5.0 support. * See 3.00c * ======================================================================== Version 3.00a 12/9/97 ======================================================================== General: - The sound dialog is now usable in the online-only build. - A possible cause of invisible planes in flight has been addressed. NOTE - If you encounter an invisible plane with this version of the front end, please make a detailed report to the bugs news group or to aw3@kesmai.com - Changes have been made to the 3D rendering code to address the problem of aircraft being difficult to see at mid range (600-1200 yards). - A bug causing aircraft to disappear when sitting on certain runways has been corrected. - The information in the automated online scenarios group selection dialog is now properly formated in columns. - A bug which could cause you to become the Unknown User has been corrected. This usually occured if you entered an arena, went out to the arena selection dialog, then returned to that same arena. - The briefing room map will now center on Waypoint 0, which may not be at the home airfield for automated online scenarios. - The hardness of the Me110 in offline mission has been reduced. - One cause of a flashing line on the left side of the 3D view on some 3D accelerator cards, include the Monster 3D, has been corrected. - Damaged airfields are now corrected colored orange (not yellow) in both 2D and 3D modes. - Force feedback effects for stall and for gear down buffet have been enhanced. Offline Missions: - Drone speech for ditching and returning to base has been improved. - New drone speech has been added for final approach and landing. - Two new drone commands have been added: STATUS and POSITION. Usage: '[group id] STATUS All drones in the group will report damage, fuel, ammo and bomb load. If no group ID is specified, it defaults to the group you are leading or flying with. '[group id] POSITION All drones in the group will report sector, heading, altitude and airspeed. If no group ID is specified, it defaults to the group you are leading or flying with. -

Air Warrior III Patch 3.12 a3gd312.zip 21.22MB This patch updates videogame Air Warrior III adding support for higher resolutions in 3dfx mode ====================================================================== NEW FEATURES AND BUG FIXES IN AIR WARRIOR(r) III V3.12 ====================================================================== New Features ---------------------------------------------------------------------- - A new, large scale European terrain - one designed to fully support strategic bombing and resupply - has been added. - The spin model has been reworked to prevent its use as an offensive air combat maneuver. - Air Warrior III now supports higher resolutions in 3D hardware acceleration mode. This will only work, however, with 3D cards that support higher resolutions. - The frame rate counter (evoked by OD in-flight) now operates in all cockpit view modes. The counter appears in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. - The host now supports a range of hardness values at each airbase. Previously, buildings at an airfield could be set as destructible or indestructible. Now the buildings at each airbase have a possible ten step hardness range, from soft (1) to hard (9). The setting for indestructible (0) is unchanged. - The Saitek Cyborg 3D Digital stick is now supported. - The Logitech WingMan Interceptor stick is now supported. Bug Fixes ---------------------------------------------------------------------- - The Air Warrior III spin model has been fixed to work properly on Pentium II and faster computers. - Flap and throttle indicators now work correctly under all screen resolutions. - A minor memory leak has been plugged. - Fixed bug that caused 3D graphics to display on only the upper quarter of the screen on Voodoo 3 and riva tnt boards. Hardcoded offsets for screen clipping were wrong. This apparently was ignored by DX5, but DX6 drivers paid attention to this value. - A German Error string was translated from English to German in the German language version. - A Kate no longer carries a lower turret position; it never had one. - Gunners no longer jump with their ammo out of bombers. - Bridges resurrection works properly now. - In the course of testing higher resolutions in 3D mode, we discovered that maximum in-flight resolution was limited to desktop resolution. You could not select a game resolution higher than the resolution of your desktop. We removed this restriction in 3D mode. This limit is still in effect, however, for software rendering mode. -
