No joy on carrier-based single missions
kblomkvist posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mission & Campaign Building Discussion
I'm trying to modify the Okinawa terrain to make it suitable to more modern period, not the WW2, just for my personal use (don't expect anything serious from this, I'm not a terrain modder really). My idea is to have the USAF/JASDF based on the Japanese islands and shipborne USN/USMC forces clash with the Chinese shipborne forces (the Chinese side will have no airfields, maybe I'll add some off-the-map airfields for long range strikes). For now, I have not modified anything on the ground but decided to add the carriers only. I downloaded some Chinese stuff and modified the Ulyanovsk CVN as a fake Chinese carrier. The problem is that I have no carriers spawning in the single missions at all. I am using a full 5 merged SF2NA install (it's a separate Far East themed install) and the Okinawa terrain updated for SF2. I created a water map in a way which has been explained in the forums. You can see it here for yourselves: Okinawa_Water.rar The Okinawa.ini looks like this: And the nations.ini: Do you have any idea what's wrong here? -
Decals showing up in Viewer but not in Game
kblomkvist replied to DaniloE31's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
Well, I need to add something to this discussion - I make my skins and decals only in Gimp (i don't own PS and don't want to use a pirated one) and I have never experienced decals not showing up only because they were made in Gimp. -

[fictional] SF2 PZL-230ME Ukrainian Air Force
kblomkvist replied to kblomkvist's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
Maybe. I am oly doubtful about Latvia needing a mud mover like this. They have no real combat aircraft and if they ever buy any, I guess they would be multirole fighters in the first place or some cheap trainers with combat capabilities. I know it's a fictional mod but I'd like to stay a little reallistic. -

I have a question to you all. What cockpit replacement would you suggest for the Skorpion? The EF-2000 pit seems to be a little too sophisticated for such an aircraft. -

Yeah, but the pattern is a bit tricky and would have to be done by hand, not with availabe brushes etc. in order to make it look good. -

I've made some new skins for this bird and then I realised that this very old thread exists I need to find some other fuel tanks for this aircraft because the original ones are too wide, change the canopy glass tint to something more reallistic (this blueish hue looks weird) and work on some loadouts. The grey skin is one of the original skins with changed decals. Both green skins are loosely based on contemporary or historical Su-25 liveries and the blue one is quite free interpretation of a skin @EricJ once made for the MiG-29. -
