Il2 DD Update "Easter Edition"
76.IAP-Blackbird posted a topic in IL-2 Series / Pacific Fighters / Cliffs of Dover: News
Hello Everyone, Happy Easter Sunday to those of you who celebrate it in the West. I hope the Easter Bunny brought you an Easter basket full of goodies and that you had a nice day with friends and family. In the spirit of Easter I have have an Easter gift for you! I know many of you are anxiously awaiting the flyable C-47A we have been working on. Actually, it's being built by Ugra Media with our supervision. Working with third-parties on aircraft is not easy and it's usually a pretty slow process, but progress is being made. Below is a very much Work in Progress screen of the C-47 cockpit. It's been grafted onto another model so we can test it in the engine, that's why it may look a little funny. It will be mated to the C-47 external model soon. This image looks quite nice, but be aware more work on textures, animation and connecting it's systems tot he engine needs to be done before it is ready. In other words, don't assume it will be released next week and what you see here may change a bit before release. I just wanted to show you that it indeed is coming along slowly, but surely. Hope you enjoyed your little Easter surprise. 🐇🥚 -
[Fictional] Douglas Dakota C.3 - RAF Desert Camo
Spinners posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
View File [Fictional] Douglas Dakota C.3 - RAF Desert Camo Douglas Dakota C.3 for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 This is a simple mod of the stock C-47A to create a Dakota C.3 in service with the Royal Air Force in the 1948-1967 timeline. Of course, the Royal Air Force were a big user of the Dakota but not in this fictional desert camo scheme which is loosely based on the original Lockheed Hercules C.1 scheme of the very early 1970's (quite an odd scheme for the times). It is flyable and RECON has been added as a secondary role so that you fly low-level recce missions and watch those MiG's stall and crash! INSTRUCTIONS 1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the DakotaC3 folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the DakotaC3 folder into your Decals folder. That's it! CREDITS As always, thanks to Third Wire for a great little game/sim. Special thanks to gerwin for this lovely desert camo to which I've simply added black undersides and decals. Special thanks also to russouk2004 for bringing us the smashing C-47A cockpit. And, finally, thanks to everyone in the wider Third Wire community.
