Today I went into your server and let me tell you I got pretty dissapointed.

I got kicked just because I was hiding myself behind a nurse?

I've been playing this game from the very beggining and this is a first...

I seen that happend last night JJ, but our server does run the rule "No nurse Camping".

We like to run a clean game according to the ROE listed in the game. Although it doesn't state specifically "You can't hide behind a nurse", The U.S. Army trains its military to protect civilians, not use them as shields. Your actions violated our rules, and our admin removed you from the server due to it.

But the VIP ain't an USA soldier. So, what rules is he breaking? I just hide behind nurses to avoid detection then I move on once I get cover inside hospital. I always did this and never saw anyone complain.

But ok, it's your server, your rules.

It is a long debated topic. But if you truely were that VIP, and these hospital workers just saved you life, would you use them as shields? They are your friendlies. They could be your mother, daughter, neighbor, etc.

It's not just our server, it's every AASA server which accounts for a large percentage of the official servers.

Like I said, it has been a debated topic for a long time. Some think that it's OK for Indigenous forces to act in this same manner. They say that they are not part of the US Army and don't have to follow the ROE. But if you put yourself in their shoes, they want just as much to complete the objective without harm to the civilians (friendlies) around them. Those people could be their family, neighbors, co-workers, etc.. Fact is that they are people that they do not wish harm upon, and would sacrifice themselves in an effort to save them, not cower behind them.

ROE's are there for a purpose...there are numerous instances of US Troopers getting killed or abandoning a mission in order to save non-combatants,a nurse would definetly qualify as a non-combatant...even in the middle of a rather hot lz,or a firefight non-combatant casualties are avoided at all costs....if nothing else picture the reaction when buds are told one used a nurse as a shield, one would be laughed out of the bull session....

My point exactly.

Besides, how many other places are there beside THAT nurse that you can hide? In that map you can hide under stairs, 2nd Floor Closet, or just stay in VIP room. There are even some places just outside VIP room that are good too, like the hospital bed just outside.

Maybe the reason is "TO WIN THE GAME", and yes it is a game, and that tactic will help you win points. It just won't help you win respect.

one of the best game i have ever played

so enjoy it all :)

about hiding behind civies

it's just a tactic, the game is very realistic

but not 100%...

i think they shouldn't kick for that reason...

Why do you think that's an appropriate tactic Nesher? Would you do that in real life? Yes it is a tactic that can be used in a game where at the end of the day nobody really dies. However, it's a simulation to teach soldiers to adhere to the ROE. The VIP may not be one of the soldiers, but if you truely were that VIP in Real life, would you stoop to that level? I hope not.

If we're talking about real life, then maybe all players should stop doing strafe, bunny hopping or crouch-stand moves everytime anyone shoots at them, because last I knew, soldiers don't do that either. :no2:

i don't think it's that appropriate, but it's still a tactic :\ (lame one i might add, when i play Ambush hehe :))

for me it's just a fun game,

soldiers are taught how to handle every situation in combat

they have thier Rules of Engagement and they follow it

but not anyone stick to ROE all the time, soldiers were sentensed in the past.... and probably in the future

everyone has his own prespective on every situation and might react differently as well

not always by the book...

as far as it goes for me...

i'm not VIP yet lol, when my time will come i'll let ya know buddy

LOL...Gotta agree with ya there. I've seen bunny hops that would put some olympic high-jumpers to shame...lol. They could also increase the damage done by most all of the weapons, but I'm affraid that if they did, the enjoyment of the game would go away in a heart beat. (no pun intended)

Matter of fact, I think there are a few servers that run a "No-Bunny Hoping" rule. You would think that FPS developers would limit this somehow....maybe even throw in some prancy dance animation to make your character look like some frolicing princess....lol
