F4U Corsair WW2 Pak (Wolf257)
= For SF2, Any & All (Full 5 Merged Reccomended*) =
Designed for use =ONLY= in a stand-alone SF2-based WW2 PTO Mods Folder!!!
*Note: Full-5 Merged reccomended, due to the use of SF2NA style 'carrier based' statements in the
aircraft's data inis. Working WW2-era aircraft carriers (and escorts) are required as well as
Terrains with working SF2NA-style _water.bmps and NavalMap=TRUE). There is a 98.6% probability that
this mod will =NOT= work in SF/Wo* 1stGen game installs, due to the excessive modifications made to
fit them into the SF2 environment.
Please note, that in the case of NavalMap Terrains, USMC & RNZAF
aircraft =WILL= be flying off carriers, regardless that said aircraft versions/squadrons did or did
not in Real Life . It's a Game Engine "bug" that can only be fixed by have both a land-based and
carrier-based version of the aircraft (ie: "Nationalized")*
This is a compliation of all the work done to date on Wolf257's Corsairs, from 1stGen WW2 mods, converted, adjusted, tweeked, etc, for use in the SF2 environment. This package is designed (read: WILL) replace all other
previously released versions/variants/mods of these aircraft.
This package holds 6 complete aircraft, with all their skins and decals:
Corsair MK.IV (RNFAA- BPF)
F4U-1 (USMC Birdcage 'Stand In')
F4U-1A (USN, USMC, RNZAF)
F4U-1D (USN, USMC, RNZAF)
F4U-2 (Radar Equiped Nightfighter; USN, USMC)
F4U-4 (USN, USMC) *by TMF, specific for WW2*
For squadrons represented, just look in each aircraft's folder.
New cockpits, from the TMF -4/-7/AU-1 are being used on the Mk.IV, -1D. The -2 is using the radar-
equiped cockpit from the -5N. While not fully hisorically correct, they have the proper "look and
feel" for the era. The -1 & -1A still uses the original Wolf cockpit. With a small "enhancement"
Data inis (FM), loadouts, userlists, etc meet (almost, FM-wise) the latest standard. All skins are in
Jpg format, and decal randomization is TURE. See 'Notes' for more details.
All weapons are included, in SF2 formatting, as are sounds and a pilot figure.
Supplied, for Optional Use, is a slightly modified SquadronList.ini, with small name changes to some
USN & USMC squadrons, that may (or may not!) show the correct squadron name on the Loadout Screen.
Also supplied is a 'backdated' SCB-125_Data.ini for SF2NA users that will allow the anachronism of a
1950s-era angled-deck Essex class CV to work in WW2 (that also has =NO= working guns!!).

Vought Corsair MK.2, RN Fleet Air Arm, ETO
= For SF2, Any & All (FUll 5 Merged Reccomended*) =
A little something for the ETO-centric WW2 players!
Designed for use =ONLY= in a stand-alone SF2-based WW2 ETO Mods Folder!!!
*Note: Full-5 Merged reccomended, due to the use of SF2NA style 'carrier based' statements in the aircraft's data inis. Working WW2-era aircraft carriers (and escorts) are required as well as Terrains with working SF2NA-style _water.bmps and NavalMap=TRUE). There is a 98.6% probability that this mod will =NOT= work in SF/Wo* 1stGen game installs, due to the excessive modifications made to fit them into the SF2 environment.*
**Note x2: this is Wolf's Corsair, NOT the TMF version, available elsewhere
This pack represents aircraft from 1842 Naval Air Squadron, Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm, embarked on HMS FORMIDABLE during the time frame of the attacks against TIRPITZ.
Data inis (FM), loadouts, userlist, etc meet (almost, FM-wise) the latest standard. All skins are in Jpg format, and decal randomization is TRUE. A new DDS damage texture is included.
All weapons are included, in SF2 formatting.
A new SF2-compliant verison of the original 'box art' Hangar screen is included.
As always, fairly easy to follow, highly detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them. Also, give the "Notes" section a read too
For historical purposes, my original readme from 2007 is included.

PLEASE READ THE README FILE INCLUDED !!!!!
The Northrop P-61 Black Widow, named for the venomous spider, was the first operational U.S. military aircraft designed specifically for night interception of opposing aircraft, and was the first aircraft specifically designed to use radar. The P-61 had a crew of three: pilot, gunner, and radar operator.
Like the original 1stGen Pak, this mod contains 2 complete aircraft:
P-61A
with 2 skins,
Olive Drab/Neutral Gray
and
Overall Black
The Black will become active using the "StartDefaultDate" switch.
P-61B
Overall Black
The P-61A does NOT have the top turret (as is historicaly correct). The P-61B DOES, and it will engage defensively (well, sorta offensively too) any E/A with range.
As a bonus, an 'experimental' version of the P-61A-1, WITH turret (but locked forward), and some engine modifications is included for those End Users with the skills and talents to try and dial in the WEP statements. The WEP is 'best guess', and historically was used on all Black Widow models (yes, the time IS correct! Right from the Pilot's Manual and other technical resources. But don't use it for longer than 5 minutes at a time!)

SF2 WW2/Post-War Lockheed P-38L Lightning 4/9/2014
-- Something for, well, Anyone! --
= For SF2, Full-5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) =
Some mods for Wolf257's P-38L Lightning give you a version for late WW2 and the early Post War Time frame.
While keeping the standard WW2 start date, the service time has been extended to include some use by the newly formed USAF (post October, 1947). Meaning, retirement date is December 1949 (approximately true!). This is =NOT= a "What If..." aircraft.
2 skins are included, both are in Natural Metal. They're names are:
NM (a generic type, with plane-in-group numbers)
USAF (with post-1947 markings)
There are no squadron or unit markings for either skin. There is litterally NO data available.
The NM skin can be used pretty much anywere for WW2. The USAF skin will automtically "switch on" in 10/1947.
All new skins (now with rivets!!) are in jpg format. Both aircraft use a 'pool' of Serial numbers and they should be considered 'generic' in nature, but ARE for the model variant depicted. The post-1947 skin has the addition of "Buzz Numbers", that have the correct letter prefix assigned to P-38s
All markings are decals, and decal randomization is TRUE. All weapons, sounds, and a pilot figure are included. Both skins have individual Hangar Screens.
When in game, you'll see:
P-38L Lightning (Post War) (w)
This, and the folder being name "P-38L_pw" will seperate it from any WW2 types you may have. The "PW" is for "Post War". The "W" is for Wolf, further diferentiating this from other Lightnings that you may or may not have.
As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them!

SF2 WW2 MTO Lockheed P-38J, 1st FG 3/1/2014
-- Something for the WW2 MTO players --
= For SF2, Full-5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) =
This is a 'remod' package, fully revamping some earlier 1stGen skins by Gocad for Wolf257's P-38J Lightning. This is the full aircraft package, with all the goodies included (weapons, pilot, sounds, cockpit, etc).
This package represents the 1st FG during late 1944 through war's end, as based in Italy. This is all 3 squadrons:
27th FS
71st FS
94th FS
All new skins (now with rivets!!) are in jpg format. Each squadron has the correct plane-in-squadron numbering sequence, and squadron color flashes. All aircraft use a 'pool' of Serial numbers, and they should be considered 'generic' in nature, but ARE for the model variant depicted.
All markings are decals, and decal randomization is TRUE. Each skin is represented by the WW2 squadron patch, as seen on the Loadout screen selection drop-down menu.
When in game, you'll see:
P-38J Lightning (W)
The W is for Wolf257. This will diferentiate this P-38J for any other you may (or may not) have.
As always, fairly easy to follow, highly detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them!

SF2 WW2 PTO P-38F/G Lightning Pak 3/20/2014
-- Something for the PTO players --
= For SF2, Full-4/5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) =
*There is a distinct possibility that this mod will =NOT= work in SF/Wo* 1stGen game installs, due to the excessive modifications made to fit them into the SF2 environment.*
Mods/reskins/redecaling for Wolf257's P-38F aircaft. This pak replaces my SF/Wo* 1stGen 'generic' PTO P-38F. It is designed to represent P-38F/G model Lightnings as seen in the SoWesPac Theatre, in particular the Solomons Islands.
The aircraft carries the markings of the 339th FS, 347th FG as seen in late 1942 through late 43. This is pretty representative of all early Lightings in theatre at this time frame.
This is the full aircraft, and is complete with everything needed (except bombs & guns; you should have these already).
The skin is in jpg format (now! with rivets!), Decal Randomization is TRUE. Damage textures are DDS format.
When In Game, you'll see
P-38F Lightning (W)
The (W) indicates this as a Wolf257 aircraft, and will differentiate it from any other P-38Fs you may (or may not) have.
As always, fairly easy to follow, highly detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them.
Remember -- these are very old models, so they "are as they is". All original readmes, when discoverable, are included.

SF2 WW2 MTO USAAF P-40F Pak 2/24/2014
-- Something for the WW2 MTO players --
= For SF2 ONLY, Full-5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) =
*Note: this pak MAY be usable in 1stGen SF/Wo* game installs. However, some features (decal randomization and FM adjustments and several other things) will =NOT= be functional. Use in 1stGens has not, and cannot be, tested by me.*
**Notex2: this mod is designed for use =ONLY= in a MTO-Centric mods folder**
At first, I was just going to do a simple skin/decals pack. But with all the "modifications" made to fit into SF2 chose to take the "lazy man's way out" and am just uploading the entire aircraft. So, if you already have Raven's P-40F in your MTO-centric mods folder, best to back it up someplace. You can, of course, re-add any other skins at your convience.
This is the full aircraft, with my 'tweeked' sf2-ish data ini. The skin included is for...
64th FS, 57 FG "Black Scorpions"
as seen from late 1942 in North Africa.
Skins remain in their bmp format.
New DDS damage textures (usable on all Raven's Warhawk/Kittyhawk in SF2 only) are included!
All markings are decals, and Decal Randomization is TRUE. There are no nose arts. Also, via the use of my (patent pending) fake "SqTail" decal, the squadron name display is now active on the Loadout Screen.
No weapons are included, except an SF2 Version of the drop tank (for those that haven't converted it yet). New theatre-specific Hangar and Loading screens are included, too. Actually, you have 2 loadings screens to choose from.
When in-game, on the aircraft selection drop-down, you'll see
P-40F-5 CU (Raven)
This will diferentiate this for any other Warhawks you may (or may not) have.
As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. PLEASE read them!!

SF2 WW2 CBI RAF Thunderbolt Mk.I & Mk.II 2/10/2014
-- Something for the CBI players --
= For SF2, Full-4/5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) =
*There is a possibility that this mod =MAY= work in SF/Wo* 1stGen game installs; However, due to the excessive modifications made to fit them into the SF2 environment, not all things will work. End Users do so at their own risk.*
**Notex2: These aircraft should =ONLY= be used in a seperate CBI-centric mods folder to prevent them from showing up where, historically, they shouldn't. The Aircraft/GroundObject sets for CBI are substantially different from the Central or SouthWest Pacific areas.**
This pack contains modifications/reskin/redecaling/etc of Wolf257's P-47D aircraft (both Razorback & BubbleTop), and create a nation-specific version for use in the China-Burma-India Theatre (SEAC) by the RAF. This is the complete aircraft, with everything needed. This pak contains a skins for:
Thunderbolt I:
No. 261 Squadron, RAF
Thunderbolt II:
No. 5 Squadron (after converting from Mohawks)
No. 60 Squadron (after converting from Hurricanes, after converting from Blenheims)
261 and 5 Squadrons are finished in standard SEAC camo (Temprate Day); 60 squadron is finished in Natural Metal, as they didn't start Thunderbolt operations until May, 1945. That particular skin does NOT use the SF2 "start date" switch, as many of the squadrons continued in camo until VE-Day. You can select it from the drop-down in the usual manner.
All markings are decals, making it very easy for skinners to create other squadrons by simply making a new squadron code letter. Decal randomization is set to TRUE.
The Squadron Crest is used for the paint chip on all 3 skins.
A new (semi)compliant SF2 FM was assembled (as used on my other P-47 Mods). As has become expected, the FM is NOT perfect, and needs further fine-tuning by Experts.
New "box art" style hangar & loading screens (when art was locatable), New DDS damage textures. The skins are in jpg format, As is usual, all lighting is 100% historically correct.
Serial numbers are also historicaly correct for these Jugs, but should be considered "generic" in nature, as they represent no particular aircraft with the unit(s) depicted, But are correct for the model variants.
When in-game, you'll see:
Thunderbolt Mk.I (W)
Thunderbolt Mk.II (W)
on the aircraft selection drop down menu. The "W" is for "Wolf". This will diferentiate them from any other Jugs (RAF, USAAF or otherwise) you may or may not have.
As always, fairly easy to follow, highly detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them.
