  1. SF2 WW2 MTO Tomahawk IIB (RAF) Pack

SF2 WW2 MTO Tomahawk IIB (RAF) Pack 5/01/2015

-- Something for the WW2 MTO players --

    = For SF2 ONLY, Full-5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) =

*Note: this mod is most likely =NOT= usable in 1stGen installs at any patch level. This may be due to the use of a 'late model' cockpit.*
**Notex2: this mod is designed for use ONLY in a MTO-Centric mods folder**

This package contains a SF2 version of Raven's P-40B/C Tomahawk, as used by the RAF and Commonwealth squadrons in the Western Desert and Palestine. While considered a 'beta', the aircraft is 100% all there. As I understood it, the beta tag is ONLY because the cockpit was never finished. In that light, I've substituted one of Stary's Generic Cockpits ™.

    The skins included are:

    No 112 Squadron
    No 250 "Sudan" Squadron
    No 4 Squadron (SAAF)
    No 3 Squadron (RAAF)*

As seen in Palestine, Egypt and the Western Desert.
All but No 3 RAAF are finished in standard "day desert'. *No 3 RAAF is painted in standard "temperate day", as seen in Europe. I was unable to determine when (or even IF) 3 Squadron RAAF repainted their aircraft to the desert scheme, but thought it would be a nice change. One can always swap out the skins for the desert versions.
No 3 RAAF was one of the earliest in the MTO to use them in Palestine against Vichy forces, but the SF2 date switch is NOT used on it, or any of the others. Other squadrons can be created by simply making a new squadron letters decal.
Skins maps remain in their bmp format.
All markings are decals, and Decal Randomization is TRUE. All aircraft use a 'pool' of plane-in-squadron letters and serial numbers. Excepting 112 Squadron, where all serials ARE 100% historically correct. The others, while correct for this mark, are to be considered generic in nature.
The Hangar screen is a revamped Sf2 version of my original "AvArt". All sounds, drop tank and pilot figure are included. Guns & RAF bombs are not, as they're available in the various WW2 Weapons and Guns Packs. Service dates are rounded to "whole months". The canopy operates with the Standard Animation Keystroke, Shift/0.

    When in-game, you'll see

    Tomahawk IIB (Raven)

This will diferentiate it from Wolf's Tomahawk mod. In fact, =THIS= mod is designed to replace, completely, any and all earlier versions.

As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. PLEASE read them!!

  2. SF2 WW2 AVG "Flying Tigers" Tomahawk Pack V.2

    SF2 WW2 AVG "Flying Tigers" Tomahawk Pack V.2 5/2/2015

-- Something for the CBI players --

    = For SF2, Full-4/5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) =

*There is a possibility that this mod will =NOT= work in SF/Wo* 1stGen game installs, due to the excessive modifications made to fit them into the SF2 environment. This mod is designed to REPLACE, in its entirety, the one based on Wolf's Tomahawk. See Install instructions for more information.*

**Notex2: These aircraft should ONLY be used in a seperate CBI-centric mods folder to prevent them from showing up where, historically, they shouldn't. The Aircraft & GroundObject sets for CBI are substantially different from Central or SouthWest Pacific areas.**

This is a re-compilation of Baltika's beautiful P-40B/C Tomahawk "Flying Tigers" Pack for use in CBI-based WW2 installs. It has been converted for use on Raven's P-40B/C. Consider this as 'Version 2'.

It contains 99.9% Historically Accurate ™ serial numbers, Individual aircraft numbers and squadron markings.
This mod creates a seperate, nationalized version, called "Tomahawk_AVG". Be sure your WW2 Nations ini contains the 'country', AVG!

    This pak contains skins/decals for:

    1st Pursuit "Adam & Eves"
    2nd Pursuit "Panda Bears"
    3rd Pursuit "Hell's Angles"

All markings, excepting squadron color bands, are decals. Decal Randomization is TRUE. All items, sounds, pilot figure, excepting guns, are included. Provisions have been allowed for use of a drop tank, but all research indicates the AVG never used (or had!) them. Also, no bombs are carried. Any ground attacking will be 'guns only'. The canopy operates with the Standard Animation Keystroke, Shift/0.
As Raven't Tomahawk is considered a beta, due to the cockpit being unfinished, this mod uses one of Stary's 'Generic Pits'.

Operational service dates for the aircraft have been limited to the actual spread; 12/21/41 - 7/4/42. To that end, Userlist.ini was created to help 'lock them in'. (it is known however, that some of the AVG Tomahawks DID operate with the newly formed 23rd FG, when taken under USAAF control).

    When in game you'll see

    Tomahawk AVG (Raven)

on the aircraft selection drop down. This will diferentitate it from the original, based on Wolf's Tomahawk.

As always, fairly easy to follow, highly detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them =BEFORE= installing, but (duh!) after unzipping. Also, give the "Notes" section a read too. Baltika's original readme for the Flying Tigers Mod is included for historical purposes.

  3. SF2 WW2 PTO P-40B/C Tomahawk (USAAC) Pack

    SF2 WW2 PTO P-40B/C Tomahawk (USAAC) Pack 5/01/2015

-- Something for the WW2 PTO players --

    = For SF2 ONLY, Full-5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) =

*Note: this mod is most likely =NOT= usable in 1stGen installs at any patch level. This may be due to the use of a 'late model' cockpit.*

**Notex2: this mod is designed for use ONLY in a PTO-Centric mods folder**

This package contains a SF2 version of Raven's P-40B/C Tomahawk, in use by the USAAC just before, and during, the opening months of The Pacific War. While considered a 'beta', the aircraft is 100% all there. As I understood it, the beta tag is ONLY because the cockpit was never finished. In that light, I've substituted one of Stary's Generic Cockpits ™.

    The skins included are:

47th PS, 15th PG, Bellows Field, Hawaii, December 1941 "Pearl Harbor Defender"
    20th PS, 24th PG, Phillipines, December 1941
DOD41 - representative of aircraft from August to November 1941

Skins maps remain in their bmp format. The SF2 'date switch' is NOT used on any of these skins.
All markings are decals, and Decal Randomization is TRUE. The Hangar screen is a revamped Sf2 version of my original "AvArt". All sounds, drop tank and pilot figure are included. Guns are not, as they're stock items. Service dates are rounded to "whole months". The canopy operates with the Standard Animation Keystroke, Shift/0. Be advised, this aircraft has a short service life, as the E models were already in service when the US entered the war.

    When in-game, you'll see

    P-40B/C Tomahawk (Raven)

On the aircraft selection drop-down. This will diferentiate it from Wolf's P-40B/C mod. In fact, =THIS= mod is designed to replace, completely, any and all earlier versions.

  4. SF2 AVG Flying Tigers Tomahawk Pak - for WW2 CBI

SF2 AVG "Flying Tigers" Tomahawk Pak by Baltika

-- Something for the CBI players --
    = For SF2, Full-4/5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) =

*There is a possibility that this mod will =NOT= work in SF/Wo* 1stGen game installs, due to the excessive modifications made to fit them into the SF2 environment.*

**Notex2: These aircraft should ONLY be used in a seperate CBI-centric mods folder to prevent them from showing up where, historically, they shouldn't. The Aircraft/GroundObject sets for CBI are substantially different from Central or SouthWest Pacific areas. You'll need the Burma and China WW2 terrains from the 1stGen Terrains Downloads. Be advised, that even though I reworked both terrains some years ago, they need yet another going over to correct many faults; but they ARE perfecly playable as is, with the needed SF2 terrain conversion tweeks that is :)**

This is a re-compilation of Baltika's beautiful P-40B/C Tomahawk "Flying Tigers" Pak for use in CBI-base WW2 installs. This uses Wolf257's Tomahawk as the base aircraft
It contains 99.9% Historically Accurate ™ serial numbers, Individual aircraft numbers and squadron markings.
    This pak contains:

    1st Pursuit "Adam & Eves"
    2nd Pursuit "Panda Bears"
    3rd Pursuit "Hell's Angles"

Like the recently rereleased Tomahawks, it has a new (semi)compliant SF2 FM, and in this case, a new cockpit (albeit NOT correct for P-40s* see Notes below for more explinations). It uses one of Stary's 'Generic Pits', that you can see things in. So, accept this 'poetic licsence'. The original Wolf pit is, however, still included.

It is also HIGHLY advised to add this generic cockpit to the other 2 Tomahawk mods, for SF2 usage.
Operational service dates for the aircraft have been limited to the actual spread; 12/21/41 - 7/4/42. To that end, Userlist.ini was created to help 'lock them in'. There is no historicl evidence that these Tomahawks, unlike their RAF brethern, ever used any external stores, but research is still ongoing (meaning: I gave them to you anyway, as the D&S book hinted they had them!).

As always, fairly easy to follow, highly detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them. Also, give the "Notes" section a read too. Baltika's original readme for the Flying Tigers Mod is included for historical purposes

    Happy Hunting!

  5. SF2 WW2 MTO P-40L Pak by Raven

    SF2 WW2 MTO USAAF P-40L Pak by Raven 12/18/2014

-- Something for the WW2 MTO players --

    = For SF2 ONLY, Full-5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) =

*Note: this pak MAY be usable in 1stGen SF/Wo* game installs. However, some features (decal randomization and FM adjustments and several other things) will =NOT= be functional. Use in 1stGens has not, and cannot be, tested by me.*

**Note x2: this mod is designed for use =ONLY= in a MTO-Centric mods folder**

At first, (as usual!!) I was just going to do a simple skin/decals pack. But with all the "modifications" made to fit into SF2 chose to take the "lazy man's way out" and am just uploading the entire aircraft. So, if you already have Raven's P-40L in your MTO-centric mods folder, best to back it up someplace.

This is the full aircraft, with my 'tweeked' sf2-ish data ini. The skin included is for...

317th FS, 325th FG (the Checkertails)

as seen from late 1943 in North Africa and points North. This is the timeframe BEFORE the 325th converted to P-47s.
The original "OD_Green" skin is included, as the #2 texture, and has it's decals randomized. It carries the "star-and-ball" of 1942 thru Sept 43 insignia.
As a second option, I've included a "generic" MTO light earth/dark earth/grey unders camo skin. If one wants to use that type in place of the OD, I'd advise moving or renaming the OD skin maps !!BEFORE!! doing anything else.
All Skins remain in their bmp format.
New DDS damage textures (usable on all Raven's Warhawk/Kittyhawk in SF2 only) are included.
All markings are decals, and Decal Randomization is TRUE. There are no nose arts.
No weapons are included, excepting SF2 Version of the 2 drop tanks required (for those that haven't converted yet). New theatre-specific Hangar and Loading screens are included, too.

When in-game, on the aircraft selection drop-down, you'll see

    P-40L-10 CU (Raven)

This will diferentiate this for any other Warhawks you may (or may not) have.

As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. PLEASE read them!! Also, please give the "Notes" section a read as well

  6. SF2 WW2 PTO RNZAF P-40E/K/M/N Kittyhawk Pack

    SF2 WW2 PTO RNZAF P-40E/K/M/N Kittyhawk Pack

A total of 301 P-40s were allocated to the RNZAF under Lend-Lease, for use in the Pacific Theater, although four of these were lost in transit. The aircraft equipped 14 Squadron, 15 Squadron, 16 Squadron, 17 Squadron, 18 Squadron, 19 Squadron and 20 Squadron.

RNZAF P-40K/N/M squadrons were successful in air combat against the Japanese between 1943 and 1944 (RNZAF P-40E never saw combat). Their pilots claimed 100 aerial victories in P-40, whilst losing 20 aircraft in combat. Geoff Fisken, the highest scoring British Commonwealth ace in the Pacific, flew P-40s with 14 Squadron, although half of his victories were claimed with the Brewster Buffalo.

The overwhelming majority of RNZAF P-40 victories were scored against Japanese fighters, mostly Zeroes. Other victories included Aichi D3A "Val" dive bombers. The only confirmed twin engine claim, a Ki-21 "Sally" (misidentified as a G4M "Betty") fell to Fisken in July 1943

From late 1943 and 1944, RNZAF P-40s were increasingly used against ground targets, including the innovative use of naval depth charges as improvised high-capacity bombs. The last front line RNZAF P-40s were replaced by Vought F4U Corsairs in 1944. The ex combat P-40s joined the P-40E in New Zealand OCU Squadrons relegated to use as advanced pilot trainers.

The name Kittyhawk was generally retained throughout the aircraft's' service with the RNZAF, even when the later models' official name was Warhawk.

Included are 4 Royal New Zealand Air Force specific aircraft with a total of 11 skins.

    - P-40E Kittyhawk RNZAF

    - P-40K Kittyhawk (Warhawk) RNZAF

    - P-40M Kittyhawk (Warhawk) RNZAF

    - P-40N Kittyhawk (Warhawk) RNZAF

INSTILATION: Drop files into your mods folders, override when prompted.

NOTE: Has only been tested/used in a merged install of ALL SF2 titles

  9. Curtiss P-40B Tomahawk, USAAC, Early WW2

Curtiss P-40B Tomahawk, USAAC Early War

-- Something for the PTO players --
    = For SF2, Full-4/5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) =

*There is a distinct possibility that this mod will =NOT= work in SF/Wo* 1stGen game installs, due to the excessive modifications made to fit them into the SF2 environment. You try so at your own risk; no support is/will be available for such attempts*

This is a compliation pak of several of my 1stGen USAAC/AAF P-40B mods, recreating USAAC P-40Bs at the beginning of WW2. Based off Wolf's original RAF Tomahawk, now nationalized for American usege. This package contains 3 skin and decal sets:

    47th Pursuit Squadron, Bellow Field, Hawaii;
"Pearl Harbor Defender" -with Historical Markings.

    "USAAC";
representing the 24th Purusit Group in the Phillipines, Dec 8, 1941. Marking are 98% accurate - those units "closest" to the expected War Zone had slightly different markings they US Mainland units. There are 100 "plane-in-group' numbers, represening the 24th's 4 Squadrons.

    "The Sky Legion";
a fanciful skin based on the film "Sky Captain and the World of Tommorrow". Just for fun! If you don't want it showing up, simply rename the textureset.ini, and delete the entry from the P-40B.ini.

The markings on BOTH the 47th PS and 24th PG are correct for the period. All skins are in jpg format, Decal Randomization is TRUE. A new SF2 version of the original 'box art' hangar screen is included . New DDS damage textures. A destroyed model is included, as is the in-line 'CRSPRP' engine sound (very Allison like!) "Time in Service" has been limited to 1940 start year, and a 'guesstimated' end service date of May, 1941. They were all pretty much used up by then, and replaced by D,E,and F models in the SoWesPac. All running lights are 100% correct for this aircraft.

A semi-SF2 compliant Flight Model was "fiddled into being", but it does needs further fine tuning, as always, by experts. Even though THIS version is a non-exported aircraft, a Userlist.ini was created for it. Allowed Mission statements now more reflect the actual usage philosophy of the time frame. (no Strike, Anti-ship, or Sweep) The aircraft was designed more for a 'point defence interceptor', and has no provisions for external stores of any kind.

As always, fairly easy to follow, highly detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them. Also, give the "Notes" section a read too. Original readmes, when discoverable, have been included for historical purposes.

**Notex2: this mod is designed for use ONLY in a PTO-Centric mods folder**

A first, I was just going to do a simple skin/decals pack. But with all the "modifications" made to fit (better) into SF2, in particular the 5/2013 patch level (oi!), chose to take the "lazy man's way out" and just upload the entire aircraft.

When in-game, on the aircraft selection drop-down, you'll see

    Kittyhawk Mk.1A (Raven)

This will diferentiate this for any other Kittyhawks you may (or may not) have.
This is the full aircraft, "nationalized" for Australian use, as stated above, with my 'tweeked' sf2-ish data ini (and a backuped copy of the original too!). The skin included is for...

    No.75 Squadron, RAAF

as seen from mid/late April 1942 in the Port Moresby, PNG area

Skins remain in their bmp format.
New DDS damage textures (usable on all Raven's Warhawk/Kittyhawk in SF2 only) are included!
New aircraft plane-in-group letter decals, and RAAF serials - 95% historically accurate - matched to the individual letter, are included. On the numberlist, those marked with a star (*) have been postively confirmed to have served in 75 Squadron.

All markings are decals, and Decal Randomization is TRUE. There are no nose arts. Also, via the use of my (patent pending) fake SqTail decal, the squadron name display is now active on the Loadout Screen.
No weapons are included, except an SF2 Version of the drop tank (for those that haven't converted it yet). New theatre-specific Hangar and Loading screens are included, too.

The skins have been run through the template (thank you Raven for that!), and have had a layer of dirt and 'clouds' added for weathering.

As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. PLEASE read them!!
