Hello everyone, I'm from Thailand. I'm interested in airplane games and I really enjoy customizing the planes in my games. I play them in my free time from work.

Hello everyone, I'm returning to Strike Fighters 2 after a long time. I want to go back to modifying my game, which in the past had many mods and I found very good. I also want tips on new mods that I haven't tested yet. It's great to be here with you all. Thank you CombatAce team and all members.

Well, hello there!

I'm jdredalert! Through my life i was always interested in gaming development and modding, but not really into flight games and simulators. This is something that happened fairly recenty, in 2022. I had my first contact with virtual planes playing casual gaems such as Project Wingman and Ace Combat 7. From there, i was slowly but surely discovering more of this amazing world. I played a lot more aviation games in the past few years, from old school classics such as Fleet Defender, Falcon and some of Jane's titles, to more recent stuff such as War Thunder, Nuclear Option and VTOL VR. Right now i'm stuck with a very weak laptop for work, and i found that Strike Fighters games are not only lightweight enough to run flawlessly but also had a very nice flight physics overall and the most important - an active modding community. So here i am, introducing myself.

I know we are supposed to post a few times before downloads are allowed, but i hope to stay posting after that. Being a modder myself (having spent the last decade and a half modding Doom primarily), i would love to learn how to tinker with SF2 airplanes.

I mean personally I was into the games before I saw Devin, but he does put out some great videos I'll say.

Devin's videos are also just nice to watch. For DCS alone there are tons of videos that might have valuable information but are just atrocious to watch. no editing, bad sound etc. on the other hand, just watch Devin's RAF intro. I'm stuck humming this weird rock cover of the Battle of Britain theme.

I play IL-2 too. For a long time, since it came out in 2001. SF2 is a nice jet age addition. Being stuck with old hardware, DCS is a no no for me. I am also not very fond of all the games past 2013-ish that seem just to be a endless row of micro ingame transactions. World of Tanks started that, right?

Arma 3 came out in 2013 and I've been playing it quite regularly and do modding for it. As a whole DCS is just modules with a slow turnout due to the sheer amount of work that they have to do. I can see the creep (and having worked them in a tester/texture artist capability I saw a lot of the behind the scenes stuff, so I don't complain that much about the slow pace and whatever updates come out. But SF2 is just nice for simple stuff, and so on, and not really heavy on the transactions. I mean I don't think of most games that I play as "pay to win", especially with flight simulators at least. I mean it gets expensive, but that's for some other places I suppose.
